How to beat procrastination and get your work done: 1. Identify Resistance - awareness 2. Take Action - break it down into small tasks 3. Set an End Time - put a space to work in 4. Set the Mood - outside resources 4. Journal - meditate before starting to work to calm and clear your mind
Tips: • take action (baby step) • set time deadline (get flow state) • using music (or whatever to set the mood) • journal and/or meditate before you get to work
When I procrastinate I ask myself "How do I want to feel at the end of the day?" and anticipating the good feeling that I will have when I get some important task done helps me to take action :-) and treat myself
i’m watching this video while procrastinating on my history essay. i’ve also been avoiding it all weekend. you did it in 20 minutes. i can do it too, thank you.
Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done. The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. In life, people tend to wait for good things to come to them. And by waiting, they miss out.
Roi Arthur urrghhjj I NEEDED THAT and you know whaaattt??? i’ll stop procrastinating by writing this comment and start working on writing my paper. THANK YOU!!!

That's the word procrastinating i ask to myself many times can't even answer hahah and someone answers it and that's u Lavendaire, thank u for sharing this empowering video it really helps a lot. ❤️ God bless u more 😇
I like the definition that procastination is basically the fear of doing something because it so important. I find the things that are most important to me take me so long to do and it always makes me feel so guilty that I put them off and it's because I'm so afraid that in the end I might fail. Knowing that procastination is a form of fear helps me come to terms with it alot more and it feels like...I'm not the only one who feels that way. I don't know about other people but when I know I'm not the only one feeling something it makes me feel like I'm in it with someone else even if I don't know them...and the thought of having that "togetherness" makes me feel so much stronger. Does that even make sense?
Giselle La Chatte It totally does! I feel the same way about it. Today I decided to take a baby step and to finally start planning my dissertation that I’ve dreaded to think about for the whole summer break lol. I think planning it out will help me to stress less and to not put it off till the last few days before deadline 😅 To some people creating this “atmosphere” to get you started seems stupid but I really cannot do it other way.

Hi!! Here is a tip, when i'm reading or studying i record my desk and the things that i'm doing in time lapse, so i can't grab my phone because i don't want to ruin that and when i finish i can see all my work getting done and it motivates me ✨✨✨
I feel like for some people procrastination might come from feeling overwhelmed by a certain task and not being able to do it on your own. Then it is important to recognize that we might need a little help to get ahead, which is totally fine and everybody should be open to admit that. So then the first thing might be finding that person or group that can maybe redirect our thoughts or help structure something with us. Just a little addition :) Loved the video💌
Hello Aileen, my name is Stephanie. Last night, when I had had enough, enough of the rut I've been in, enough of my inability to properly organize my thoughts and enough of my lack of strength, to fight the urge to procrastinate, I cam across your channel.. I've watch about 4 or 5 different videos and they have all struck a chord with me. I want to thank you! I'm amazed at the effect your videos have had on me in this extremely short amount of time!! So, thank you for creating your channel and posting these videos, you are definitely making a difference in the world 🙂!
I just got about an hour's worth of work done on a project I haven't touched for about 2 weeks because I watched this video right before. Thanks for helping me to focus. I'm listening to the deep focus playlist you suggested. Also, after you spoke about doing "baby steps" it made me want to make a bullet-pointed list of every tiny baby step I needed to do to finish the project so I would have the satisfaction of checking off each one. I'm happy to say that I've completed about a fifth of the baby-steps task list, within this last 60 minutes! Thanks again for putting this video out there.
I love, love music but for some reason it hinders my productivity big time lol. For example, I can’t listen to any type of music when I’m trying to study, even if it’s just instrumental, and complete silence is just too boring, so what I’ve found really helpful is listening to coffee shop background noise. The 7hr vid called “Coffee shop murmur sounds” is my favourite because I can’t make out what anyone is saying so it doesn’t end up distracting me. Similarly, listening to a podcast/audiobook instead of music when I’m doing chores seem to make time go by a lot quicker and I’m also learning something new at the same time! :)
Aimee B oh interesting! For me, I can’t listen to music with lyrics or else I’ll start singing along or get distracted haha. The music has to be soft and instrumental.. not exciting beats or I’ll start dancing 😂
That part about procrastinating out of fear is so true. Just simply taking action is something I've learned to do over time and it's the reason I wear a bracelet with the quote "Just Do It".
I love the deep focus playlist! ⭐️ I find that procrastination can sometimes happen due to poor habits. Over time, I've established better routines so that I don't even think about avoiding a task. Every morning when I wake up, my first hour of the day is dedicated to doing my TH-cam work. Then, after my day job, I come home and do at least another hour. It's become a part of my routine and a daily habit that I do without resistance. Plus, I regularly check in on my 'why' and my purpose for doing what I do. This keeps me aligned with the reasons behind why I need to put in the work! This is a reminder to myself to stay on task and keeps me motivated, especially on days when I feel too tired or lazy to do anything ❤️
Although I don’t agree that procrastination always comes from fear (I think for me and for others procrastination often comes from laziness and lack of discipline and bad habits), I think these are really good tips! I’m excited to use these tips, thanks 🙂
I procrastinate...I do everything at the last moment and I hate it. My mind gets overwhelmed with everything I have to get done so I spend my time putting out fires and doing "urgent" things...
I love how you describe procrastination! The fear of doing something because it is important, and then the fear of failure. One thing that helps me to stop becoming distracted and procrastinating is to keep a piece of paper or notebook beside me and if I need to, jot down things that are distracting me or that I need to do, or would like to do. Then I know that I can explore whatever it is I wanted to do later, and get back to the task at hand! :)
Life changing tool for me was setting timers for most of my tasks - whether it’s planning a major work project or prepping my coffee for the next morning.

I experienced that feeling again last night. Just too lazy and discouraged to do anything while so many things were waiting for me. But only one message from my best friend studying abroad in Korea like raised me up in the middle of night. That's really amazing. She just told me to go there and have fun with her. And that turns to be the strongest motivation I've ever felt in my whole life. Then this morning I stop procrastination and try hard on my stuff. I think the motivation from one special person is incredibly important.
Whenever I watch these types of videos, I end up making them as my background "noise" (if that makes sense) and I end up just not listening and learning from them but this video, honestly, is the only one I focused on for the whole entire time and I learned a lot. Thank you so much for this. And with that, you just got yourself a new subscriber. By the way, you're so gogeous. 😍
Thanks for sharing! My recommendations based on many fails is to: 1. Become aware of what you do - apps that tracks activity - habbit tracker 2. Ask yourself some questions like: - Why you don't do what you specified? - Is there any fear associated and maybe that's why you procrastinate? 3. Be specific (time & location). For example: I will read for 10 minutes at 7:00 am on my couch. This helped me :)
I found this video at the perfect time. Being a working college student who's trying to better the mind, body, and soul can be extremely difficult. Depression is one of the main reasons I procrastinate and facing resistance head on has helped a lot. Your advice was golden!
after watched this, I've been working on a project that had been my biggest fear for weeks. 2h has past and I'm not scared of it anymore and I feel so relieved! can't thank you enough really.
😭😭 I’ve been stuck in an endless loop of procrastination and I was getting in lots of trouble. So bad I got anxiety and everyday tasks became really scary and I would literally start shaking and crying. This video was one hundred percent what I needed. Thank you so much. One plus subscriber.
During my internship last year I learned about the "baby steps" we called them "little wins". I think it's important to focus on the little wins towards your goal vs always feeling overwhelmed about the bigger picture or task you have to get done. 🌱Glad I saw this video because it reminded me of effective that was for me!
I have just discovered your channel today and I think you have already changed my life. I didn't know how to get out of a "rut" and stop the procrastination. Thank you, your positivity is inspiring.
I needed this boost of confidence. I want to be productive and I want to get things done. I just can’t get myself to do that sometimes. And this helped me in a way that I can still do other things than work, but still have time to work. Thank you so much! 💕
What a timing video... I am really affecting with procrastinating nowadays 😥😥.. you are always doing such a great job that's why I love you so much Aileen 💕... This video helps me a lot... Thanks my love 💞 I like the Forest App 😍😍 thank you 🌲🌱
I'm an arabic fan for you...You taught me alot..It's hard to me to find arabic different sources for somene like you ..I'm happy to find your channel.Thank you♥
I can't thank you enough for this video 😊 It is 1.30 am here and I have just finished watching this .. I desperately needed to hear these words ..right words at right moment. I'm looking forward to apply these tips from tomorrow morning.. I'm a new subscriber here.. you are awesome ..💚
It sounds weird, but I was watching this because I was procrastinating in getting to sleep. These tips helped me to realize that it was procrastination and that I should go to bed. 😊
Thanks Lavendaire for this useful video :) I have subscribed to your channel. I'd like to mention i've been using the Procrastination Elimination Method by John Isaac as well... im having amazing success with it!
YES YES YES. For me, my case is how hard it is to start. Once I start, I get carried away and continue working. Soooo yep, setting the mood is the key!
The problem I find myself in is that I don't need to learn to be "productive" but I rather should learn to chill more, if that makes any sense ?🤷♀️ I sometimes want to do so many things that I get overwhelmed by it. Even when I was productive the whole day and did a lot of work I still don't feel at ease before going to bed. Like if that still wasn't enough. Maybe that's because I'm a really insecure person and I try to work hard to get "better". I know my standards will only rise with that and that will get me nowhere... but I just can't help it😣
Littlemisssusuwatari this is another issue then. You need to be grateful and appreciative for the work you’ve done in the day and learn to relax & feel that it’s enough. Ambitious people will always have a never ending to do list. But focus on the PROGRESS you’ve made in your day instead of how much you have left to do. Celebrate your progress!
I’m literally already feeling the need to procrastinate. I’m here adding all your videos on all this lifestyle stuff to a playlist and contemplating on wether I should watch them now or later.
Aileen, this was such a helpful video and I love the concept of equating procrastination with resistance. I think that procrastination comes in several forms which is why its so hard to defeat it. Thank you for these hacks; I can tackle this semester
Thank you for this! Almost like your tip about putting up a timeframe, but not really. Instead of the "goal" of continuing after those 30ish minutes, I give myself "working hours", or more specifically an ending time. Like "After 4pm I dont work, and weekends not at all". To promise to actually do something is too much for my fragile procrastinative being. But I can promise NOT to work. And the result is that I actually DO work instead of postponing, and free my mind for other things on weeknights and weekends! Saved my life, and got me out of acadimia induced anxiety!
Haha I totally recognize the "motivating yourself in your journal"! I also started with morning pages just to clear my mind before work, and after a while it naturally became things like "OK, when I'm at work, I just have to do this and this, and then I can be proud of myself! And then when I'm home, I can work on my video! Yes, I can do it!" :D I enjoyed the video! You go in depth, but not too much. :) As for tips, I only have one video about productivity for now, but it's a bit in the same theme. I think most tips are different, so I think complements well with your video: it also has some tricks on reducing resilience. I hope it can help someone! :)
Journaling helps me a lot to focus on my work, I was so distracted and I didn't know what to do then I watched the video and tried Journaling and I love it. Thank you.
I have my thesis to write and for two months I haven’t done anything, now it’s one month before the deadline so starting next week I’m applying those advices and trying hard to stop procrastinating !!💖
I usually hate these types of videos but yours was great! :) btw I have this big project on November 15th and I realized that doing one thing at a time really helps!
I am just a small voice but I just want to say thank you to Forwago. This program helped me to build self-confidence and taught me how to believe in myself. More people should find out about it. Thank you, Forwago!
I used to procrastinate and would even be late a lot (running late). I finally admitted I needed to improve on that issue so I use my phone to write to do lists and I used my iPhone and written calendar to write down important dates/times which has helped so much.
i like to watch productive study with me videos that are like 4 mins long as that gets me really motivated and happy to do my work. then i take a break a couple of hours later and watch another one
I agree with the last one. I literally couldn’t focus because i kept thinking about other stuff and it somehow irritates me. Thank you! Will keep this is my mind! 💞
Everytime I watch your video, there is something to learn. TBH I hardly comment anywhere. But you make me feel like, "pause my video and comment first" lol. Simple, I love the way you share information. Millions of thanks.
I finally stopped procrastinating and uploaded the video on YT and I was feeling that resistance for the entire time. Phew! I will surely incorporate these helpful steps in my lifestyle!!

Step by step the jug gets filled. Thanks for your great videos and tips dear Aileen!
🌱Glad I saw this video because it reminded me of effective that was for me!
i love her “love you all so much”
like whenever the video is ending im waiting to hear it- ♡
Aileen, these are great tips! Love Forest 🌳 recommendation, a brilliant Pomodoro alternative to helping to get things done! 📚
This is literally my biggest issue and I've read and watched countless articles/videos but somehow this is the one thats helped the most!
"Deep focus" and "piano in the background" are my fav playlists too for working 😄😄
Wow! The way that the thing you resist is by being scared of a big project. That statement was the most true thing I ever heard. Thanks for sharing!!!
What a timing video... I am really affecting with procrastinating nowadays 😥😥.. you are always doing such a great job that's why I love you so much Aileen 💕... This video helps me a lot... Thanks my love 💞
I like the Forest App 😍😍 thank you 🌲🌱
I desperately needed this, I struggle with procrastinating, I’m trying to get better at being productive.
I'm an arabic fan for you...You taught me alot..It's hard to me to find arabic different sources for somene like you ..I'm happy to find your channel.Thank you♥
I'm so ambitious but battle with procrastination. Thank you so much for these tips. Now I'll be able to get things done.
I can't thank you enough for this video 😊
It is 1.30 am here and I have just finished watching this ..
I'd like to mention i've been using the Procrastination Elimination Method by John Isaac as well... im having amazing success with it!
the "baby steps" strategy about finding the easiest task is literally the best thing i could hear.
i'll watch this video tomorrow
thank you so much for your advice! I have an exam in four days and have been procrastinating for the last month! Can't wait to try your advices!
Love it! WOOOOW!!
Lavendaire Thank you for your answer! 😊 you are right! I will try to incorporate more gratitude in my life like this.
It's not only the large tasks but the little tasks too. Once you have started you are in the flow, at times, and then you can finish it
Now that I think of it, take action is the hardest part! I always procrastinate to exercise. The easiest next step is to get out of bed. 💪
Thank you, I have found that procrastination ended up making me more stressed. Now I know I have to simply, Just Do It!!!
thanks for the help!💗 gonna go do my math now ☺️
Katie Grace I see you everywhere
fine;))
Yes, I can do it!" :D
I enjoyed the video!
Thank you.
watching this when my exams are tmr lmao how productive
Lisa oppa good luck
Lisa oppa good luck!!
Lisa poppa I'm late but good luck
all the best. i have proclaimed myself as the goddess of good marks, and i bless you.
Visualize your self working before you actually work and write that vision down on paper to have it sink in deeper ... loved that idea 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
How to stop procrastinating:
Stop reading comments and close the video
Not before you watch it
Patrick Not-Star & get back to work
Oof
I’ve gotta watch it first.
Thank u for this 😂🙏
I used to procrastinate and would even be late a lot (running late). I finally admitted I needed to improve on that issue so I use my phone to write to do lists and I used my iPhone and written calendar to write down important dates/times which has helped so much.
This was very useful and each tip flowed into the next. I'm so glad I stopped and watched. I even took notes!
You help me so much you know? Because since the past four months I've been procastinating and now I know what to do. I love the tree app😊
I love how your advice in this vid is really unique and different from the typical ones. Thank you!!
i like to watch productive study with me videos that are like 4 mins long as that gets me really motivated and happy to do my work. then i take a break a couple of hours later and watch another one
Very helpful!! Thank you!!
We should be told this by our teachers. They could repeat the baby step method before every big paper. It would be so helpful!
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." -The Bible🌺
bullshit! XD
@@cheeseburger5716 There isn't a need to be mean..to someone it's true to someone it isn't.
Bu please be nicer! :)
Procastination almost killed my dreams... I procastinated starting my youtube channel for one year bt thank God
I agree with the last one. I literally couldn’t focus because i kept thinking about other stuff and it somehow irritates me. Thank you! Will keep this is my mind! 💞
*I love your voice and your confidence♡♡*
Everytime I watch your video, there is something to learn. TBH I hardly comment anywhere. But you make me feel like, "pause my video and comment first" lol. Simple, I love the way you share information. Millions of thanks.
so helpful. thank you!
Cleaning off my desk is part of my getting started ritual. Thanks for the great ideas.
honestly...i procrastinate with watching these kind of videos and think "oh hey, i do something" ;)
I finally stopped procrastinating and uploaded the video on YT and I was feeling that resistance for the entire time. Phew! I will surely incorporate these helpful steps in my lifestyle!!
