  • The Cannondale Moterra SL is a full-powered E-MTB that rivals the weight of some of slimmest lightweight e-bikes on the market. They achieved this through a combination of a bespoke 600 Wh battery, high end components, and a frame design inspired by XC race bikes. Learn more about the bike in the video, then leave us a question for us to test when we have the bike in for review!

    considering that Ive seen plenty of orbea rears snapping due to it being so thin trying to save weight... i think this one is going to be a pass for me.. at the end of the day.. I want something thats going to last and not break.. Perhaps cannondale has engineered the frame to be sturdy... but that rear triangle gives me the shivers and reminds me of the new orbea wilds rear triangle.. which (in the forums) are prone to snapping under some spirited riding..

      Fair enough, it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out!

    If you run the bike in the 63.5 degree head set what changes does it make to the reach, BB height and SA?

    • @99spokes
      @99spokes  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Weirdly enough, Cannondale doesn’t say, but you can expect to marginally raise the bottom bracket and increase reach. STA might be ever so slightly steepened but probably not much since the change is coming from a bearing swap as opposed to changing fork travel/wheel size

    I have Fazua 50 and would not buy another ebike from them again. Go with Bosch or Shimano and avoid the headache of dealing with a small company, lack of ride data support or common e-ride features, shortage of components, etc. Most ebike repair shops are familiar with the two giant brands and Fazua is not even as supportive in Germany. The bike shops usually have to send the motor and or battery to Fazua HQ rather fixing them on their own.

    awesome bike, hope shimano fixed their motors by the time this bike starts to ship. 601Whr 😄 really? I bet any battery test would turn under 600Whr, marketing should have just call it 600, I may skip buying it as I was looking for at least 602Whr ebike

      Right lol?? I was laughing at that too, probably just so they could market “over 600 Wh battery” 😂😂

    What a strange world we're living in, mountain bikes are getting heavier while ebikes are getting lighter.

      @@99spokes I've heard people claim the reason they're getting heavier is to make them stronger, but if you took the motor and battery out of this bike it would weigh about 14.1kg with pedals, which is at least 2kg lighter than your typical modern enduro bike, so how come this bike isn't breaking due to it being too light?

    In Canada even the ‘low end” model would be over 10k (with tax). The top of the line model is 21.5k (with tax). I am sorry, but this is absurd.

    Way too expensive and a flex stay instead of a pivot might give a rigid feel. Good review and looks like a nice bike

    • @99spokes
      @99spokes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Believe it or not it’s actually on the cheaper end for what you get, comparable with direct to consumer brands like Canyon. But yes, I’ll be honest that the flex stay has me scratching my head a bit too haha
