    I have terrible anxiety and stress, but I refuse to take meds for it, as some of my friends and family members are gone because of "complications" from meds, drugs, etc. Others have come close, so none of that for me. As an alternative, I watch airline flight videos (like "Skylite Productions"), and once in a while I get on the plane to go see a jazz gig or something to make an excuse for getting on a flight unless I can't afford it. Lately I've been watching "the lumbering operations" since I found your channel (it popped into my feed for some reason), and my anxiety level massively drops. Interestingly, I was doing searches earlier related to severe stress and anxiety, and there you & Jade popped in one morning, driving to the yard. I don't know why it is that watching logs being milled can be therapeutic, but if it works, then why not. Thanks Emerald & Jade!

    It’s interesting that RR’s buy wood ties. I’m glad they do. Concrete ties just don’t have the romance. I believe that the wood ties are placed a little under 20” apart. There are so many that need replacing. Way to capitalize on that market.

    The railroad has to have really good ties because of the weight of a train. One rail car is about the same as three fully loaded semi trucks. You do a good job or they wouldn't keep buying from you. This was an exceptional video ladies thank you.👍♥️♥️

    I have worked at a sawmill that milled ties. The stacking pile was there or four feet off the end. So you rolled a new cut tie off the end and on to the stack. Then you pick the other end and slid the tie on the stack.

    Nice rectangle pegs, they look like switch ties not standard cross ties. Railroad give me 120 culled ties one year, I could haul 10 on the long bed truck and 10 to 12 more on my trailer loaded all by myself many trips unloading was easier used tractor. they were dry so didn't weigh as much as green. I was in my 30's then lots older now and my back tells me about it every day LOL John Toccoa GA 🤠

    I found the green forklift! so at least two weeks ago you still had it and it was sitting by the camper in "Our favorite Log Splitter: Team Vote" 0:54 So that forklift may be able to help you make a "pallet Jack" for the railroad ties and help you be more efficient in there production.

    Repair & Replace RR ties with wood. Lay down new RR rails for light Passenger & High Speed rail use Precast Conc. ties. Would you agree ? Good yard equipment

    • @scottsoper
      @scottsoper 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do NOT believe in passenger rail service or high speed rail of any kind. I DO believe in Freight Trains except when they should be using pipelines. The rails for freight do not need to be better than they are. Passenger rail is a waste of money. Spend the money on airports and air travel and you will move more people at lower cost. I say that as a person who has used passenger rail for years: hay it is better than the bus!! It is way past time to have fully automated freight trains.....

    I get the impression that even if you do save time in actual cutting there is an additional cost element that comes from handling those huge logs in a nonstandard manner as well as transferring the tiers to the trailer not to mention the cutting of the tiers to the right length!.
    Solid work as usual. Staywell😊

    Many people have commented on using a pallet stacker, etc. Could you just have your loader forks at the end of the roller table and slide the ties onto the forks? It would mean handling the ties, which you avoid now but might be faster. Then again, I don't have to do the work so it's easy to make suggestions. Keep up the good work.

    • @scottsoper
      @scottsoper 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      add a table onto the forks then the tie will roll on the rollers by the LT40 and set at the correct height slide onto the table. all you got to do is guide it a bit.

    For the first time I noticed the circular blade that leads in front of the band saw. Does that prevent or lessen the chances of the band saw blade catching or binding on the bark? Also 4 oz of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice (No Sugar) for back pain. Cut with Kombucha and yogurt and filtered water. I am not a doctor but I play one in real life. Do homeschoolers get honorary Phd's because you deserve one Emerald (and Jade) for real. Bring back rail road travel with those ties please!!!!!! That's how folks get around in Europe.

    • @scottsoper
      @scottsoper 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The circular blade is a debarker. Tree bark collects rocks and other junk as it is hauled out of the Forrest. Cleaning a spot for the saw blade to run keeps the saw blade sharper longer because it is not hitting the rocks and junk.
      I don't know about Europe but US passenger rail is not really a good idea. Aircraft move more people for less overall cost. However Freight Rail is a good thing and is here to stay.

  • @scottsoper
    @scottsoper 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    • @WPA33SC
      @WPA33SC 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has to be hardwood. I think poplar is the main hardwood they won't take. However they do like Sap Gum. I believe they prefer Oak. Hickory is ok too.

    I wonder who made a such hole in the log, maybe it was a squirrel, or a woodpecker was hollowing out a bark beetle. I think a railroad tie must be especially hard. (Hi from Belarus. Harry Davidson)

  • @kroadie3936
    @kroadie3936 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You’ll need heavier log for railroad sleepers to handle the heavy loads I hope.

    • @scottsoper
      @scottsoper 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No they won't need a heavier railroad sleeper or cross tie. 3250 wood rail ties are in a mile of rail road track. By contrast 2640 concrete railroad ties are in a mile of rail road track.
