Damn, Artist has great products at low prices. The market screams for quality at working man prices. Another great amp from them. Demonstrated by a true guitar master!
I got one of these a few weeks ago. I haven't even been able to try it cranked yet because I'm between bands and my neighbours all have small kids, so I've nowhere to play loud. Seeing your video and Shane's videos pushing the tubes is killing me! Great demo. Thanks for showing me what I can't have unless everyone in my neighbourhood goes out for a day!
After watching this and Shane on intheblues I bought one, man what an amp, low tone, low gain, higher volume, Les Paul equals, and sometimes add a slide, so nice. Thanks for the demo. They now come with electroharmonix tubes, and although I love the 70/80 I use a V30 in mine, wow, now sounds old and expensive.
A lot of guys are grabbing these and gigging with them. I've always had good dealings with Artist, recommended. If I needed a gig-worthy, affordable amp, I would get this in a heartbeat.
I was looking at getting the Artist tweed 20r,but it was out of stock ☹️, so I ended up with a Albion GS 30 2x12 combo, and very happy with it, although I do like this Artist amp 👍🇬🇧
My Vox AC15 crapped itself (again) at church last Sunday, keeps blowing fuses and making interesting noises so I bought this Artist amp after seeing your facial expressions on how good it sounds and also those of Shane from intheblues. I am not disappointed, what a find, the Artist amp sounds great and without breaking the bank. Just hope it lasts longer than my AC15 did.
@@MustangStevie7 It's still going, the power light went dim after 3 months. Artist Guitars provided a free post return label, put a new light in the amp and posted it back to me. No probs since.
Is this too loud for home use. I'm a beginner and like the sound and look of this amp but my playing needs to be a bit quieter....as I'm still rubbish! Would this be suitable?
It must’ve been loud! I could see the cloth over the speaker flapping. And the camera (?) seemed to wobble too, video shook a bit. Your poor neighbours. Am sure they love it 😃
What do you think of the stock speaker? I had one of these and returned it because I felt the speaker was a little harsh sounding. may have to get it back!
Damn Brett, you have about a s many amps as me! I've come to realise that amps are more important than guitars. Get a good guitar or two that you can bond with, and then find a bunch of amps that work for you. Unfortunately had some hearing loss due mainly to Judas Priest back in the 80s, playing a stadium sound system in a small club! But I have no regrets. Still play very loud at home, wear earplugs most of the time, neighbors have never complained, so I guess I'm fortunate. But I am considerate about the times I choose to cut loose.
Hi Brett, I can see your camera shaking from the vibration. I'm afraid this beast is too much for me in an apartment. Have you done a the same thing on the Artist 12A? I was just wondering if the smaller amp had a similar sound. I realize that this one is almost twice the power but I'm looking for the same breakup quality if possible. These amps are very affordable compared to Fender and other ridiculously priced tube amps. I really enjoyed the show, thanks 🙏.
I bought one, do you know how it makes it's drive tone? A well known tube screamer op amp and a couple of LEDs that light and fade with the signal, there's even a LED for the drive channel inside the just haven't mounted it to the panel
My main complaint about "modern" amps is the crappy design and construction. But for this price point I'd happily overlook such complaints and order two.
FOOTSWITCH INPUT - On the back of the amp. This switches the Clean and Drive channel. A footswitch is not included. (Please note, the drive button needs to be pressed in for this to work) Where??? I don't see the Footswitch input on the back of the amp??? Can you plug in a FOOT SWITCH PEDAL INTO THE INPUT IF THERE IS ONE?????? Where is the drive button on the back of the amp???
Brett I have a question. How do you think it would go with a Alnico blue in it? I know they are a 15w so they would tend to break up earlier than a 25w or 30w. Or the other option is a Alnico gold & swap the EL84 tubes to Russian Military 6N14N tubes ( warmer, richer & more powerful) They are a direct replacement (drop straight in) so they should suit the Gold better. I'm no amp tech by any means I've got basically no experience at all. I'm new to this game & absolutely love Dr Z amps. DB4, Z Wreck & Z Wreck Jnr. But I'm not robbing a bank to have one well not yet any way so I'm looking for cheaper options to be able get mods done. I have Joyo sweet baby 5w that I want to run into a 1x12 Alnico blue cabinet to see what difference it will make. I've been told my eye's will pop out. There good.. Is there enough room in the cabinet do you think?
Hey Leigh! Did you ever find out or try your speaker and Russian tubes with the amp? Funnily enough i have a celestion alnico cream 90 watt in my Bugera V22 and some of the 6n14n tubes kicking round. I rang Artist guitars and they said i couldn't replace the speaker as the alnico was too deep :(. Maybe it would actually fit though...
@@clintwhite3021 Celestion speaker's won't fit but i ended up ordering Webber speaker's. There Alnico range is fantastic not to mention all the other models & are slightly shallower the the celestion's. An Amp tech from Sydney put me on to them. They do Amp kits too.
@@clintwhite3021 I didn't end up buying an Artist Amp I bought a cheaper Joyo & spilt it (built my own head cabinet for the chassis & 2 x 8" cabinet with twin 15watt Webber Alnico blue pup's.) Look the speaker's make a whole lot of difference but it depends on what tone your chasing. I'm currently in the middle of purchasing a Dr Z amps MAZ 18 & I'll run that into either a single 12" or 2 x 12" Weber Alnico blue dog's @ 25watt's each. Then I'll be on the look out either a Milkman or a Lucas Miles 22watt combo & run them in stereo. 1 dirty & 1 clean. Bang there's my tone..🤙😎

Purchased a new/used TC-59 recently. Having the back routed out to lighten it. Should be able to lose about a kilo of it''s 4+ kilo weight. This is my amp of choice. It's a no-brainer. You get 95% of a Fender for 40% of the price. The only knock for me is I wish they'd just jack the price and include the foot pedal. It's a PITA not to do that. Who's going to buy a tube amp, add an inline distortion box?
An amazing sounding amp, I absolutely loved it, but (as warned by another TH-cam vid) this amp died on me after three years of not much use. I will attempt to get it repaired, but I'm extremely disappointed. This is why the Artist brand can do things for such low prices. It's ultimately a cheap product produced in a part of the world that can do things on the cheap.
Yes, I know what you mean. I've taken the punt and bought one of these and hope that it doesn't happen to me. I had a Chinese made Strauss amp (basically a bigger version of this thing) and it was the best sounding amp I've ever had in my life and guess what? Yep, it died on me after about a year (though I did buy it second hand) It couldn't even be fixed. Fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again. But I hear you.
Just received my Artist Tweet Tone 20R. It looks like QC doesn't exist. Tolex is detached from large areas at the back of the amp. White paint stains on the top. The amps has a very loud hum that makes it impossible to play in a live situation and is annoying at lower volumes. Don't buy this amp.
Damn, Artist has great products at low prices. The market screams for quality at working man prices. Another great amp from them. Demonstrated by a true guitar master!
To me this sounds better than a Blue Jr for around the same money.. This amp has more bottom end and balls.
One of my favourite live amps! Nice work Brett! :-)
Rock on, Shane. Thanks mate. This video heavily inspired by ITB!

Guys, is this amp the same as Classic T from Giannini (made in China)? Giannini is a Brazilian brand that imported the Classic T from China.
Thanks!
One of the best recorded tones from ANY amp I've heard on youtube this year!.
