He has stopped using rasp for ballads..and imho..Sweet Child has sounded quite good in this tour.. Only November rain has to be worked on a little bit more!!
His vocal coach recommended him to don't use the rasp so often, only on songs he is comfortable to use it... Believe it or not, Sweet Child O' Mine is a hard song to use the voice rasp.

SCOM at Tokyo, you can tell he's struggling. It seems like it's at too low of a key to properly use the rasp on. Glad he's saving his voice
