I was excited about the new X10 until now. That is extremely complicated. I’ll really be rethinking making a purchase. He didn’t say how long the whole process took either.
Wondering about that too, another video said it took about 2 hours..... debating if its worth it just to get another toolhead and powder drop for around $200 and not have to re-setup dies.
Me to, any experience changing between pistol calibers (9mm, 38SA, 45ACP, .357 mag) not going to use 1h and loads of adjustment after each time, maybe 2-3 times a week 😮
If you are changing shell plates, but will still be using the same size primers... i.e. small rifle primers to small pistol primers... do you need to detach the primer feeder and reinstall it?
fuck all that, my hornaday lock and load i can do any caliber change in under 3 minutes from large to small primers, if i dont have to change primer size the caliber change is seriously i can do it in about a little over a minute.
So when the F&@? Are they going to be available for Christs sake??!! Tired of waiting, maybe I’ll just go get. Dillion and stop waiting for they guys…..enough already
Way to complicated and time consuming, any time saved using the press it wasted in swapping components and tinkering to get it to function properly and expensive add on's for each caliber.
@@anthonybmwsoldat1530 I batch process 8 different calibers, will load several hundred at a time, but the switching back and forth for each would be a massive PITA every week or so. I may load 3-4 calibers in a week, based on this process shown, I would spend 1/4 of my time just switching configurations. HARD PASS. This machine may be fine for someone who only shoots 1-2 calibers, but not multiples And no, buying 2-3 more of this monstrosity is not an option
@@mitchbertone3809 i gotchya; the one that I really do a lot of is 223, so for me, it wouldn't be a bad thing to get. But like you are saying the amount you do, wont be worth the effort. even 9/45 i have a turret press that i am happy with the output. all good!
Jesus, with how long and complicated retooling is, you almost have to have multiple machines. This is half the price of a Dillon xl750 for a reason, Dillon has the best engineers in reloading designing their stuff to minimize downtime.

Wow! I mean, I want to get into reloading multiple calibers, didn’t realize changing calibers was this involved! 🤯
I can see how the rapid and uncomplicated caliber change is going to be the number one selling point for this machine.
So like most progressive reloading presses it may be worth your while to have a separate tool head per cartridge.
Was worries they would be stupid expensive but it's only 100$
That's nice machine for the money 💰 looks great!
How long does it take to complete a caliber change from 223 to 308?

and another footnote i only use the hornady power measure for rifle i use a chaap 20 dollar lee auto powder measure for pistol, awsome
I think you just sold me a Dillon press. Even though it's expensive, it appears the caliber change is WAY simpler.
Is there a quick change option?
Buy a separate tool head for each caliber ... it will save you loads (pun intended) of time.
I guess cleaning the machine of all the spilt powder isn't part of your caliber swap.

As well designed as it may be, for someone who loads multiple calibers, this machine is some kind of ridiculous joke.
Couldn't you find any louder or more obnoxious music for this video?
To much bs just to do a caliber change..gee wiz.. I'll stick with my hornady ap
