During the times in my life when I listen to music, Sonic Youth is my favorite musical artist. Sonic Youth's main era was 1983-1994, with 1986-1988 being their peak, and their album Daydream Nation being their magnum opus. Their album Washing Machine was the beginning of the end for them. They've gone through a gradual decline since 1995, and their music has become more and more uninspired since then. Bob Dylan went through something like that himself after his main era. This performance reminds me of those SYR albums, and I didn't like their SYR albums. Even though I don't enjoy what they're doing in this performance, I still prefer it over most of the music that's been made in the past 20 years or so. Either way, though: Art is dead, and it's been dead for about 20 years now. I'm glad I replaced art enthusiasm with self-education, beneficial gardening, exercising, and other good hobbies/interests.
I hope they tour this!
Much appreciated upload!
I'm not getting into their personal stuff. Not my business. But sign me up for a Sonic Youth tour in 2025 🙂
