Hi everyone,
Finally we get to introduce the Canon M-Lite. This is a special project that shows us one thing...we can build the camera's we want using existing tech as long as we have the idea's and determination.
Just imagine a future where we only buy simple cinema camera's for their cinematic capabilities and not for useless features and trinkets. Now imagine you have the opportunity to choose the design...a traditional dSLR shape, a box, a rectangle or whatever suits your needs.
Now imagine being able to assemble it at home, IT'S CRAZY! When your camera gets damaged you just replace that particular body part.
No doubt the less positively minded folk will always throw shade but for the majority you will see the value in such a project and what it could mean for other great camera's old & new which have the potential to be brought into the modern age and able to compete with far more expensive models.
The Eos-m and Magic Lantern will challenge you in all aspects of creating cinema but all the challenges you overcome will make you a better cinematographer and a problem solver 🙌🏾

Oh my word, $169 is an absolute steal for the work you've put in and the quality of the materials! This is such an incredible project! I shoot with the A74 and pocket 6k, but if you had made this when I started getting into filmmaking, this project would've been like an absolute dream come true for me. I am obsessed and considering buying an eos m and the kit to play with! Love the storyline as well, I could always see the impression of Christ in your videos, and I am so inspired by your unapologetic story here! I love your videos, so I am going to miss your content so much while you take a bit of a sabbatical, but I wish you well on your journey. Brooooo! I'm genuinely going to miss this channel! If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't of even thought of getting an EOS M. Now, I'd rather have a few of these M-Lite/M-Pro's (I would still love to get a pro version, maybe even have the enclosure cut on a CNC) over a £1500 camera any day! Thank you for putting in the work throughout the years! And to hear your story about working for Microsoft, it bought back some memories from when I was younger. A friend of mine at the time was one of the dev's for Beam which later became Mixer after Microsoft's acquisition, it was a nice trip down memory lane. Great video!

Not sure how this came into my feed, but i am glad it did. My first camera was the EOS M too. I got trapped in the gear acquisition syndrome, thinking I needed the latest and greatest gear. I have since sold my EOS-M and feel like my passion for filming is dwindling. Seeing this makes me wanna go back to my roots. I loved filming with that lil canon. This is great. thanks for sharing. I miss my lil M.

I just bought one of those Samsung cards because of the write speeds with the new software the Devs put out a couple months ago. It's all so exciting for such a low cost.

Even despite the fact my aging laptop cries when it looks at DaVinci Resolve i'm playing happily, (but slowly) with MLV app and loving it.
I also now want one of those Synco wireless lav sets, (dammit).

But mate, there is a way out... exercise is another key to becoming more stable but there is a way out and once you find your rock you can manage stress much better. I'm like a ninja when it comes to dealing with stress now 😁

Hey! Tom here, just the case itself with all its parts is a little over 0,7kg. With a camera, i suspect itll be around 1kg. Not exact measurments however, i have yet to weigh it.
