    Go to early morning showings to avoid high schoolers for the more "mature" movies. Most teens seem to be unable to get up before noon.

    I don't have a problem with people reacting to a scary movie. I mean, it's negligible if they are reacting to a scene that is building to a scare. I hate the people that talk all the way through the movie or kick the seats, or are just generally annoying and disruptive because they have no self-awareness or, just don't care about how their behavior affects others.

    I've had my share of bad movie goers. My most recent was last month. Scarface was re released in theaters and I wanted to watch it on the big screen. Mother fuckers were throwing pop corn cheering and laughing and people's phones were going off, fucking babies were crying too. Who takes their fucking baby to a movie theater let alone to watch Scarface. I think theaters should crack down on people using their phones and talking. They should also ban babies. I went to watch BVS, I knew it was going to suck and it did IMO but I was watching the film, in awe that I was witnessing batman and superman in a movie together and then a fucking baby cries. Movie theaters have definitely started to become a less enjoyable experience

    One of my most recent bad movie theater experiences surprisingly was Manchester by the Sea. I was witnessing what could have been the first sad scene in the movie, and all of a sudden, when everything is quiet and the mood seems to be perfect, someone's phone goes off FOR EVERYONE TO HEAR!

    Completely agree. Rude people who talk, use their phones, or are just generally obnoxious during a movie experience drive me nuts...
    Although by FAR the WORST kind for me are the "Dreaded Duo," as some of my friends and I have taken to calling them: The Crying Child and Oblivious Parent.
    Drives. Me. CRAZY!!
    Like seriously, you can't get a babysitter, relative or even a nanny to watch your child for the couple hours you PAID FOR to experience a movie... Or, if it's completely unavoidable and/or it's a movie that is FOR kids (bear in mind that like 95% of all the times I experienced this was in a PG-13 or EVEN R-RATED films... like what the fuck?!), actually BE A PARENT and tell your child to fucking BEHAVE, or, if all else fails, REMOVE them and yourself from the theater so your unhappy little accident doesn't ruin it for everyone else!!!
    It's called "common courtesy," and it shouldn't be THAT COMPLICATED. JESUS.
    Don't get me wrong, I think kids, for the most part, are cute and wholesome and all that good shit but, that being said, when both they, and their parents, are that disrespectful to everyone else trying to get their money's worth and enjoy a night out at the cinema, it makes me want to slap the child, and STRANGLE the idiot who brought them in the first place!!!!!!!😡🤬🖕
    ...sorry for the rant, but holy SHIT does that OBLITERATE my sanity!!!!!!!
    🤬🤬 AAAAAUUUGHHHGGGHHH🤬🤬

    Thank you for making this video. This is a huge problem in the industry right now that very much needs to be addressed. Unfortunately its not limited to teenagers(Although they are by far the worst). Its mainly clueless people that usually have no sense of respect. Not only to the people around them, but for the movie in general like u were saying. The teenagers always feel the need to "be cool." They want everybody to know they're not scarred, so they shout out funny things during the scary parts. Then you got "The narrator" that narrates the entire movie. Then u got "the parent" explaining to his kid who isn't old enough to comprehend whats going on everything that happens in the film.(In an R-rated film to top it off). Then u got "the cryer" we all know those morons who don't have the decency to get a sitter. And last but not least by any means, "the black woman" that ALMOST seems as if she WANTS to be heard... Because shes talking that fucking loudly.
    For some crazy reason all these people love to sit in the seat directly behind me. Every time it happens I feel like I'm sitting in their living room.. Not in a movie theater.

    This happens a lot to me mostly, and very recently when I went see The Menu starring Ralph Fiennes. There was a couple like eight seats next to me and I was hoping they will be quiet until the movie begins during the previews. But no, it’s what I feared they were talking, laughing and fidgeting in their seats all the way through. The woman was singing the studio theme for Searching Pictures from Fox (20th Century Studios). The scene where Fiennes’ character clapped like we see in ads, the guy clapped so loud it was distracting. I was hoping to for them to stay quiet and watch the film because what’s the point coming to a theatre if you are gonna talk, honestly people have no self awareness or decency

  • @drahunter213
    @drahunter213 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    People with cell phones in theatres
    I understand that some people have to keep it on just in case the babysitter has problems and shutting off your phone is something you can’t do so what I do is I turn the screen brightness all the way down and I tint the screen to make it darker and I turn off the volume and set it to vibrate and if there is a setting to turn down the vibration strength do that too so when I do get a text I can take a look and if I need to text back instead of sitting up right and texting I lean forward and have my phone past my knees and while leaning forward I put my head down too so it’s out of view...because if your a parent you have to have a line to home just in case and telling someone to shut your phones off...it’s not right in my mind because the people who tell you to turn it off usually don’t have kids or get emergency texts or calls..so yeah

    I recently just watched Jurrasic World: Fallen Kingdom and I liked it alot more than I thought I would. And there were parts in the movie where some little kid would ask his parent(s) I assume about stuff and he was speaking loud enough to be annoying since, you know, there is a bajillion other people trying to watch a movie. seriously people don't bring kids under the age of 12 to the theater. Also who brings their kid who was really young, probably under 10, to a action, horror(ish) movie where people are getting ripped apart?

    • @gr8testsc0tsman31
      @gr8testsc0tsman31 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As someone at the age of 12 I will say it shouldn't be people just under 10 it should be their personality. There is a lot of difference between someone like me who appreciates the art behind the work, actually is mature and understands the rules of the cinema and generally is quite quiet to another kid who only likes to see the dinosaurs. I believe it should more be the parents decision to know if their kid is suitable for the movie, genre and generally for following the rules in place at a cinema.

    As a 12 year old child from the United Kingdom I fully support the adaptation of enforcement for my demographic. As someone that is always around people my age who generally are regarded as annoying ( I personally am friends with a majority of my age group ) I understand that the only way they really are put into their place is through rules and enforcement. It really does depend on who it is because some who are loud and abnoxious at some points can be generally quite good. The one's you were talking out typically need to be held back with force as they will either find it funny or annoying if you try and tell them rules.

      Going into a situation with force or what you said

    Uhh I think most people watch movies at a theatre is to watch it lol that’s what they are made more and 90% of movie goers are there for the experience of the movie and story...I haven’t met anyone yet that goes to movies to think about “whoa I wonder what camera they use!” Or “this scene is so well put together!” Or “oh this CGI effect is so cool I wonder if I can do that!” I can almost guarantee almost no movie goers are thinking that when going to a movie lmfao I go to movies for the experience of the story but I do agree with loud annoying people if you can’t stay quite just don’t go lol

    am I the only one with a different opinion on this subject? it would be nice to see someone who disagrees with chris stuckmann's point of view... well I am a person who talks at the movies. I do it because I enjoy socializing with my friends while participating in an activity together. when I am silent, the movie experience is not as enjoyable. when you are telling someone to shut up at the movie theatre, remember that you are ruining their movie experience as well. when I am at the movies, and someone is talking, I never tell them to shut up, because that would be ruining their movie experience. ive been to the movies before where everyone was talking. although it was harder for me to concentrate on the movie, I was still overall, able to enjoy the movie experience. Ive been to the movies before with like 10 other people in the theatre room. we all ended up commentating on the movie together, and it ended up being an enjoyable movie experience. I don't know where this whole "shut up!" thing came from but I don't like it. I just had an incident today where the usher kept coming in the theatre to tell me and my friend to be quiet. the people behind us kept telling us to be quiet too, and it was really ruining our movie experience. I didn't hang out with my friends just to be silent all day. now, me and my friends sit in the wayyyy front so we don't have to worry about people complaining to the manager about us. we sit in the front so people cant hear us, and we can socialize and enjoy the movie together.

    • @kladams707
      @kladams707 8 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      I'm sorry but no. Goin to a movie theater means you should be going to get lost in the movie. You socialize by sharing in the experience of watching the movie & talk about it WHEN IT'S OVER. If you are unable to respect the creation & the audience then you need to find a better way to socialize.

    • @reynemoriarty9431
      @reynemoriarty9431 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      It's not just Chris Stuckmann's sole POV we agree with. He is simply relating to a problem that quite frankly a lot of us have. When you sit down with a movie (if its a good movie), you are part of an experience. And hopefully a good one. You and everyone else are in that theater, experiencing the story, the emotions, everything. That's the magic of going to see a movie. You escape for just a bit from reality. Yet when you have a bunch of idiots talking about god knows what, it ruins that experience. When you have these people talking as loud as they want so you can barely hear the dialogue, it ruins that experience. Be respectful and talk when the film is over or go somewhere else like a restaurant to socialize. We are not paying 12 bucks to hear a bunch of people talk and be obnoxious.

    • @DorianCairne
      @DorianCairne 8 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      By talking, you are ruining the experience of everyone around you. People go to the movie theatre for a quiet environment where they can watch a film in total immersion. If you seriously think that being allowed to chat with your friends is more important than the experience of everybody around you, that's stunningly inconsiderate.
      And frankly, if you need to talk to people to enjoy a film, that says more about your attention span than anything else.

    • @jRex918
      @jRex918 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      well I don't go to the theatre anymore because, frankly, I'm tired of people like you telling me to be quiet while I'm talking to my friends. now I go to the movies 3 weeks after the movie came out so the theatre is empty and me and my friends can talk all we want. there, now we are both satisfied. now you can sit there, watching the movie with your friends, quiet the whole time, while me and my friends can talk and enjoy ourselves. now we are both satisfied. I seriously got fed up with the rudeness, when somebody told me to "shut the fuck up", when I went to the theatre last time.

    • @jRex918
      @jRex918 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am aware that I might be ruining someone's experience when I talk, but at the same time, they are ruining my experience too when they tell me to shut the fuck up, be quiet, etc. I think the movie experience would be more enjoyable if it was more of social event instead of, everybody shut the fuck up event.
