Carl Grimes That's his acting in play, he does that for kicks, for the fun of it, because he reviews movies and is such a movie aficionado that at one time, he did his own short film (maybe a regular film of, I don't know, about a hour (not two hours hopefully)). He must've quit doing short films (maybe, maybe not) to focus more on his passion job: reviewing media works, movies, TV shows, anime, games, etc.

That movie wasn't cancelled, it's still in production before Sony Pictures Animation left the project and Genndy Tartakovsky is directing that movie again. But different from how Sony Pictures Animation made the film so the film could be CGI, but maybe different of how Sony Pictures Animation visioned the movie.
