There are states that require child support until the child is 21 if they attend college and are getting a certain GPA. I always found that absolutely absurd, not only cause you're 18 you're an adult, but also cause if the parents were married there would be no obligation of financial support of a child when they go to college.

Something that most people don’t realize is that once you file for divorce, custody of your children goes to the state and they have the “right” to determine anything to do with those children. Even if both parents agree on something else, the state can step in and make a different decision. That alone should scare people from getting marriedand having children, but we still need to have children.

Most women are in the marriage and divorce for-profit business, and the average marriage ends at the 8-year mark. Son, the odds are against you. If you can't afford to buy 2 of everything and lose half (likely more) you can't afford marriage. Marriage in the West is an irrevocable trust, with the man as the grantor, the woman as the beneficiary, and the government as the trustee. The trust is payable to the woman when she decides to leave the marriage, administered and enforced by the government. If you want to lose a friend, marry her. Is she a friend if she insists on marriage? As my EX said when she and her "friend" reached for my 401K retirement fund at settlement, "I was married to him". IMHO, 50% of American women are NOT cut out to be wives, life partners, and mates. (I'm 72 years old and bought 2 of everything the second time.)

  • @nobuddy2012

The biggest problem for men in marriage is that women tend to stop providing their end of the agreement (bedroom fun) years BEFORE the end of the marriage while men are forced by law to continue their end of the agreement (providing) for years (or decades) AFTER the end of the marriage.
If alimony was restricted to one month for every year of marriage, you would see the divorce rate plummet.

Happily married for 58 years and counting. Son and daughter also happily married. Just noting that not all marriages end in disaster. Happily married doesn’t mean everything is perfect, no marriage is without its issues and disagreements. How you address those issues and work to solve them is the key.
My parents and my wife’s parents were also in long term happy marriages. I think being raised in a family that exhibits love and respect makes a big difference. My wife and I don’t remember either one of our parents ever having a serious argument much less a fight, but we were both raised in a time when the world was very different than it is today.

The drawback to marrying an equal-earner (or close to equal) is it will gnaw at her own hypergamyous instincts. I experienced this in my own marriage, though my situation had several other things that went wrong, primarily her "daddy-issues." The income issue seems to be lose-lose. A harsh prenuptial agreement that favors the man, or a long-term [non-common-law marriage; boyfriend/girlfriend] situation might be the only way to fight against the income issue.

Before you get married, make your single life as amazing as possible and then decide, is it worth throwing it all away for nothing in return? If yes, go for it. But don't do it thinking your life will be better.

I am going to disagree on the financial footing being equal causing less arguments. My parents fought all the time over money issues and they basically made the same or very close to same income. IMO it is the dual income households that has destroyed marriages. This was by design BTW as the State benefits from fractured families. Not to mention it has driven up the cost of living for everyone to the point that in most cases people feel they HAVE to have both people working in order to survive. This again was by design as it doubled the tax revenues to the State.

Nothing wrong with marriage if it’s the right woman. Some men want traditional families, with a wife and a few kids. Can’t do that being a single bachelor forever.

The problem is society keeps creating these insufferable females that get worse with each generation. So your chances of finding “the right woman” are slim to none. Therefore the bachelor lifestyle brings more peace to a man’s life.

Rich, this is all interesting, but I'm wondering if you really have much on widowers, and how to approach life in our late 40's? Loved my wife very much, she die died in 5 months time, and now I am raising my 8 year old son. It was very scary and rough at first, getting better at it. He is highly rates academically, and also great with other kids. But what do I do in regard to my own "needs" and "desires"? I make $180k, but can't afford your fees for coaching.

Only get married if you want kids. If you decide to get married, first make your wealth and accomplish your goals. Before you marry, protect the wealth you already accumulated. Marry in a community property state and make sure she works. When you divorce, it’ll probably be close to 50/50. Also, if you have kids, fight for the kids. I fought and got custody of my daughters. And it’s true, kids are better off with their fathers. I have done 30 years of personal sacrifice and research. I did everything wrong.

I may agree on most thinggs but NOT on that "teenage pregnancy" idiocy: most of our surnames - e.g. Calimera - derive from teenage pregnancies in the ancient Greece an ancient Rome and is something with with the best gynecologist agree. Recently I heard of a 10-year old supergirl who literally laughed just after giving birth, stood up and walked around - ostetrics an gynecologist were breadth-taken how great that was. And as a counter-example, more and more births are delivered throught cesarean cut by medical prescribtion as the girl is unfit, oxygen uptake is insufficient, there is overweight, etc. Do not fool me, I am a top-shelf scientist and strategist.

If this was 1910 than this same "marriage is a problem" would.not have been any issue. Why?
It is an issue now because of the interpretation of what marriage should be due to hige influence of socialism and feminism into law nowadays especially in the west.
Till now i think it's factual what i say but we could also debate if this trend was just a coincidence or part of a more broader society engineering. I think the last one. Why? Because once you lived in a communist society you understand some things better.
Be good, be married, have children, defend family and choose a woman wisely. And yes, if you cannot lead or enlighten your woman because you yourself are a blind one she can and will make your life miserable. Same with children. They seek a leader and order no newage bs. Rich has in many ways a correct view on these issues but on a very few I do disagree firmly.

    • @morskisrle
      @morskisrle 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

I will ad interesting fun fact. In pre communist Serbia marriage was considered of strategic importance militaryly, economically, spiritually. Young man who were not married had to pay extra tax. Man who were not married could not get the job that easy. Woman who was not married looked "strange". On top of that the close and extented (1-2+3+4th+ steps away) family was of immense importance. That all made it a bit more expensive to just "wonder around doing nothing" than having a family to fight for. On the other hand a woman was not allowed to, like now, make your life miserable by exiting a marriage and taking your money and children
