    In the live version, he gets the audience singing along to "repeat Stuff" and then as they're fully involved he gets up and starts with the Nazi salute, implying that it was as simple as message repetition for the Nazis to take over Germany.

      it's also how modern day neo-nazi (the alt-right) get people to believe them. they just repeat the same lies over and over with no evidence but 100% conviction and foolish people just believe them

      It's not really a complicated concept- it's a basic conditioned response. The reason propaganda is so effective is it taps into some of humanity's most basic instincts that are hardwired. Us vs them, tribalism, whatever you want to call it the principle is the same. Repetition of simple slogans and reductionist thinking. And it has nothing to do with left vs right, all totalitarian regimes of historical note work the same way be it extreme right wing like fascism/nazism or extreme left leaning like the soviets (at least as far as the philosophical underpinnings go). For fuck's sake, get yourself a library card and read your history.

    The live version is alright but I feel like it this version shines more. It matches the corporate feel he's talking about and has the demonic 'SWAG', easily better in my opinion.

    • @skeeter3361
      @skeeter3361 2 ปีที่แล้ว +70

      Also, in the live version, the nazi arm swing works so much better. That has to be one of the ballsiest moves on Bo's side. When he goes into the chorus, and asks the audience to sing along, and everyone saying "repeat stuff" and Bo just stands up swinging the arm to that chant. That message of mindlessly repeating shit is how dictator's rise up, basically, is one of my favourite things about that performance. I just love how Bo has "silly" comedy songs with deeper meanings than most music, that's just crazy. And amazing

    • @bethsadler3617
      @bethsadler3617 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, the live version is fun and I like it a lot, but in the video, he points out the satanic side of the industry prevalent not only in the people running things behind the scenes but in the artist's themselves; nails that point home by wearing a "Bieber" costume, complete with hairstyle and jewelry; the magazine representing yet another arm of the hydra that is the emotional hijacking of girls and the satanic pedophilia behind it, making it better than the live version bc in the vid he samples an actual Hi**er speech at the point where in the live version he stands and raises his arm, making the point using it in place of the arm; and at the end, when he kills the fan and eats her heart? I took it as a warning to fans that that parasocial relationship that they have with those singers and groups is vampirism and evil in nature and that the girls lose their lives to pursuing that superfandom while the artist literally eats it up and exploits it(Bieber Buyouts, for example). The vid makes this point better than the live version, IMHO. But both are versions of a genius song 🤩

      From the same branch of the Comedy Tree as Lenny Bruce and George Carlin, entertainingly subversive, speaking truth to power, I enjoy watching Bo become the living example of the Venn diagram of Malcolm X and Weird Al again and again - Eff, Rant, Repeat Stuff, That Funny Feeling, and How The World Works, to name a few. His wordplay made of me a diehard fan, and I am glad to see his trajectory on the rise.

    The live version helps you focus on the lyrics a lot more because there aren't nearly as many visual distractions (artfully and thoughtfully though they may be put together, they're more for someone who's already familiar with the song [and the live version]), and he emphasizes certain things (like "the salute") much more obviously and poignantly.
    Oh, and I'm looking forward to your reaction to Mack's latest video, with or without subtitles. ;)

Your reaction to - and appreciation for - him is genuine, too! Makes it a joy to watch another fan reacting for the first time to one of my favorite vids by him 😈 (BTW that black leather outfit was the same one JB wore in baby baby baby vid - which makes JB went and saw BB live and then he saw Bo do this song live...poor Biebs...lol)

    Just a suggestion, but I've seen other reaction channels react to Bo's full comedy shows by pausing it at the end of one song/bit and uploading that as a video, and then react to the next part as another video, etc. So you still end up with a reaction for each part, but don't miss any of the bits in-between which can be just as good!
    They do usually have to heavily blur out the video (or put text over it) to avoid it getting blocked though.

    Y'know what's crazy? This shit isn't even limited to pop or love songs...the most prominent example I can think of is Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA...Everyone loves the chorus...and Ronald Reagan even tried to co-opt the song for his campaign when the song is actually about the tragedy of vets returning from Vietnam to find their sacrifice was unappreciated, they were spit on and had great difficulty just getting help from the VA or employers in just getting a job...but few who have heard the song know of it's meaning...and it's not like Bruce actually tried to hide it, we just heard what we wanted or were at least unobservant in our understanding...
