This is too easy! The reason analysts on ESPN and I'd say from Fox Sports won't go on the Pat Mcafee show is 2 fold. First, Pat Mcafee is a no nonsense straight shooter who they can't BS or they get called out without hesitate! It ruins ESPN and FOX's propagaanda capabilities for LeBron James and others. The other reason is they don't like his deal with ESPN. Pat's is like an independent contractor to ESPN who they went and got. It allows him COMPLETE freedom they don't have! Then there is the legal liability aspect of it. Hiring Mcafee clears ESPN of any liability should Mcafee speaks badly and gets sued. I'm sure that's in his contract. That’s a tough spot for Pat, especially since Shams is a huge name in the NBA space now. It just shows how the landscape shifts-one minute you’re trying to get a guest, and the next they’re locked into corporate deals. Pat’s gotta keep pushing, though; he’ll find ways to make it work!

This is too easy! The reason analysts on ESPN and I'd say from Fox Sports won't go on the Pat Mcafee show is 2 fold. First, Pat Mcafee is a no nonsense straight shooter who they can't BS or they get called out without hesitate! It ruins ESPN and FOX's propagaanda capabilities for LeBron James and others. The other reason is they don't like his deal with ESPN. Pat's is like an independent contractor to ESPN who they went and got. It allows him COMPLETE freedom they don't have! It is the new model for employment that threatens to traditional hiring process. Now any independent social media platform with a massive following is available for hire. Then there is the legal liability aspect of it. Hiring Mcafee clears ESPN of any liability should Mcafee speaks badly and gets sued. I'm sure that's in his contract. Lastly, it makes the likes of even Stephen A. Smith EXPENDABLE!
Nailed it. No one wants ESPN's horrid NBA coverage. It's completely unbearable. I hate that they have the Finals and half of the playoffs.

Knowing full well it wasn’t the accepted narrative. Even better, you did so with respect in a way that wasn’t divisive. Ya stood by your own experience and your own beliefs. I think that is above Stephen A. He always says he is the executive producer of first take but reminds that he has a boss. Remember a couple weeks ago when P-Mac sent off a message meant for another higher up at ESPN. I bet it’s the higher ups that are screwing him as they don’t like that he had more freedom than the other talent. It would be like SAS licensing his podcast to ESPN. The relationship would change.

I'm not a huge pat fan but you're absolutely right with this, Stephen A loves to surround himself with people he thinks aren't as smart as him or won't push back on him. We've already seen what happens if you're super intelligent like Max or try to call him out on first take

He basically explained the situation, yea I thought it would be easy to grab up a espn basketball crew person so I didn’t really worry bout it but now that the time is here it’s actually hard because our schedule & what we all got going on they can’t really commit fully to what I need from them so I’m looking to hire someone to be able to commit to what exactly I need. Pat is looking for his version of DAN O for the basketball world where he messes with him & calls him any & everytime he wants and has full access to Dan O, he even be FaceTiming Dan O when he’s on the Air in the Am & that’s not gonna work with SAS.
