I wonder if they had any idea they were listening to a young lady that would become one of the greatest singers the world has ever known?
Actually yes, it was in an article that stated that her voice would take her very far, her fiddle playing in which her technique is very qenuine
I was lucky enough to see her at our local state theater way back when. I knew then that voice would take her far. I still enjoy her beautiful voice so much!❤️
She truly is an American treasure. So glad to have seen her in concert, although her hair was a different color. Lol

At this young age, her voice was "very good". But as she matured into greater confidence and technical mastery, her voice went from "very good" to "a generational vocal talent". One of the finest country/bluegrass singers of all time.
She's also clearly had a shit ton of plastic surgery done, that is the blindingly obvious factor, I'm amazed you fail to mention, she must be the next Dolly Parton, for sure. She quite simply bares no resemblance to her former self.
Little did they know they were listening to the future recipient of 9 CMA awards and 27 Grammys.
Boy did she blossom. She's an American National Treasure.
She obviously had multiple surgeries on her face.
She is a treasure. My wife and I met her at a show a few years ago, and she was so nice too.

Didn't play a note on the fiddle, and still great. I saw her win the fiddle competition in Winfield, KS in 1984. Who knew she would become a star for her singing?

I love this song. We sing it all the time in church. I especially like the lyrics, "How great it must be for angels to see a pilgrim reach home". That really chokes me up when I sing or hear that verse. It's going to be a wonderful day when Jesus comes and rescues His people. Praise you, JESUS! No one could ever love us as much as you. Thank you for everything. AMEN!!

Good lord. Was there ever a time when she couldn't sing. I was a heavy metal dirtball in the 80s. In 1994 I bought her CD, & made me ease up on life a little

It's just a shame she doesn't have the humility to accompany that voice, and has completely changed her appearance surgically.

I for my part have listened to her since I was about 4 years old. The first time I heard her sing Too Late To Cry I remember feeling so moved inside, she literally clutched hold of my heart and has never let go since...

This band opened for the Tony Rice Unit at a small club near Santa Cruz California...lucky us!...what a night!

She was already a veteran performer with an Emmy under her belt before this appearance. Kudo's to Art Fein for the artists he put on the air at a time when it was difficult or impossible to see these people.

After seeing this it's hard to believe that there's no such thing as a gift... A voice like that could never be acquired, even through years of practice.
