I’m sure if innocent spectators seen a man dressed like this with a mask on in the middle of summer randomly come to a pool and start walking on water, everybody would either scream or run to go grab their cell phone to record it so it can be all over the news and social media lol

You could already see the platform before the trick started, it was in the first few seconds of him walking up to it that the light reflected differently from the pool and the platform. If you were a tight rope walker, you could just have a narrow beam and walk across that, once across it could have been submerged and get a real spector to try and walk across and plunge into the pool.

magician tricks can be far more complex than this
magicians don't trick people they openly state that they are illusions. they are just very cunning at tricks and are entertaining to watch and try and suss out.

I own a plastics fabrication shop in Baltimore, and always knew this was how they did this one. Still very neat to see it explained.

It was. This show came out of nowhere and aired around the same time Mind Freak did at its peak in popularity. Despite the message the masked magician gave when he unmasked, I think this show was produced by someone who Chris Angel probably pissed off 😂
Acrylic (plexiglass) has a similar refractive index to water, so as long as the camera can't see the edges, it'll appear invisible. Of course, the lack of appreciable gaps between the tables explains why no-one swims in front of or behind him at surface level. Given this is a TV stunt rather than live, they could have seamlessly edited together multiple takes with some of the tables removed, so allowing people to swim at surface level in front of or behind him.

The other give away, besides being able to tell where the platforms are from certain angles, is the way he is walking. He is walking like he would if he was on an icy surface.

at 0:48 you can clearly see there's a clear platform just under the surface of the water. Based on how slowly and carefully the magician steps down to the water 1:04-1:08 it's obvious the platform under the water's surface has been slippery during practice sessions.
"Certain street magicians" is probably my favorite way that the narrator avoids saying Criss Angel and David Blaine. The fact that this version of the series uses so many of their tricks makes me think one of them was the magician.

He could have done that with more glass placed at different angles in the pool
A real spectator, would try to go up behind him and try to walk like he does.
That's why most magicians have assistants, like here they put fake/paid spectators or actors in the pool as many as possible or just enough near him to do their works(that is to make it convincing) so that real spectator wouldn't have to do that since somebody have already done it for them.
