    By far, the best child bike-seat reviews on TH-cam. Thank you!

    I bought this one for my daughter. Best bit of money spent by far. We used it every time we could until she was 50lbs. Super easy to use, light, durable, easy to clean. I felt sad when I gave it to some other family to use.

    Also, the mounting bracket is the biggest on the market, that I have seen so far therefore It grips the frame much more tightly and securely. The metal rods are thicker than other brands. The only downside is that it is a little heavy. But absolutely worth it.
    The ridealong used to have a front version, but it was discontinued sadly. It can be found second hand though.
    Best money I have ever spent on both.

      Yes, we were bummed when the front mount went away! But we also really love the Thule Yelp Nexxt Mini!

    Does this fit on a road bike?

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If there is enough room (free of wires or eyelets) to mount the bracket on the bike's downtube, yes. But as an FYI, we have found child bike seats to be a bit more awkward to use with road bikes. People do it (and we have done tests with it), but because you are so leaned forward and the bike seat is all the way at the back of the bike, your balancing is more difficult.

    Which 1 should I choose, Yepp Nexxt Maxi Frame Mount or Ride Along?? In Dilemma ..need help..My daughter is 3 years old, 14kg

      If they both fit your bike, the RideAlong is the more superior seat. It has more high end features, including recline and the best harness system on the market.

    Hi, what seat would you recommen, ridealong, ridealong lite or nexxt maxi?

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are all great! The RideAlong is only frame mounted, while the others come in frame or rack mounted versions. The RideAlong is the best fit for very young kids, and is the easiest to adjust. However, it doesn't have rear ventilation.

      The RideAlong is more adjustable for a great fit on the low and the high end. If you are planning on using your bike seat when your kids are 3.5 - 4.5, the RideAlong will be a better fit.

    Great reviews. I'm trying to decide whether to get the RideAlong or the Hamax Caress. I've seen your review of various seats, but cannot find a deciding factor that would make me go for one or the other. Is there one thing you'd say that gives one a clear advantage over the other?

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. The Caress is smaller and a child will grow out of it faster, especially due to the closer set shoulder straps. If you want to ride with your child when they are a bit older, go with the Thule.

    • @TheRochlan

      With the Thule Ridealong I noticed a potential problem with mounting it on the frame of my bike: I have a brake cable running where the mounting bracket metal plates are supposed to go. In your review of the Hamax Caress you mentioned that its design accounts for this problem and that it is possible to mount the bracket despite the brake cables. You also mentioned that this was a unique feature of the Caress, not found with other brackets. When looking at both the manuals for the Caress and the Ridealong, I found a reference in the Caress' manual for the solution of this particular problem. While the Ridealong manual does not specifically mention this problem, looking at the metal plates that fix the Ridealong's mounting bracket to the frame, I wonder why the same as for the Caress would not also apply for the Ridealong. After all, all one has to do is place the metal plates that fix the bracket of the frame beneath the brake cable and then fix it with the screws to the Bracket. The Ridealong's metal plates do not look much thicker to me than the Caress', so I wonder if the same solution would not also work for the Ridealong. Would you agree?

    Have you tried Bobike Exclusive tour plus or Bobike Exclusive maxi plus? I'm having a trilema here. It's a Dutch product, should be good and safe.

    Hello! Your videos are great! Could you also do a video on how to actually put the baby in the seat then start riding? I saw on this video you have the bike against a wall, how do you do when there's no wall? I have this seat on a road bike and the front wheel always turns and makes the whole set up fall (hence why I haven't tried it yet with my baby!)

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes

      For those who still have questions about getting a child on... Whatever do, make sure you have the bike seat close to your body and handbar straight before you put the child on, otherwise the bike would get twisted due to the back weight.
      Best is to hold the bike seat while putting the "smaller" child on. With a bigger kid, you can sit on the bike seat first before you let them climb on. I'm barely 100lb but have hauled 70+lb kid and 40lb kid on a roadbike without a problem.
      This Thule seat is little heavier than other seats but probably the best and safest seat!!

      Are you trying to find a bike for use with a rear child bike seat? Our recommendation would depend on what child accessories you're trying to use with it.

    Has anyone used this seat on a bike with a small frame? I’m afraid my heels will be hitting the foot rests when I pedal. I’m 5’2” and have a road bike with a 52cm frame. (Or any ideas for an alternative seat that might work?)

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rear mounted seats are quite often problematic with small-framed bikes. Quite often, the seat doesn't even have enough clearance over the rear tire.
      Could you use a bike trailer instead?

      Are you serious Maneet? Not at all. It took me like 10 minutes to put everything together. If you can’t install this seat, please don’t get a child seat. You will be putting your child and other people in danger.

    There is no way to mount a tail light, at least there is no such thing in the user manual. This makes the seat pretty useless for a half of a year.
