Hey there! I write solely because I enjoy doing it and I have a goal of becoming a published author someday. But if you want to get paid for your writing, you could become a ghost writer. If you’re the type of person who would not be comfortable with the idea of not being recognized for your work and getting paid, then this would be the right option for you. Otherwise, the best way to make money from writing is to publish your book and see if there is an audience for who you’re writing for. Most importantly, passion is key.

There are also literary magazine submissions! Usually (not always) there is a submission fee of 2-5 dollars. It isn't guaranteed that the journal/magazine will pick you, but if you submit something you're proud of an they think it's good then they will pay 25-500 depending on the journal you're submitting to. Googling literary submissions for fiction/poetry/nonfiction (based off of whatever type of writing you're doing) will give you lists of many journals you can submit to.
