- A British citizen has been sentenced for disrupting a United Airlines flight from London to Newark. The passenger's unruly behavior resulted in the flight being diverted to Bangor, Maine, the United States, on March 1st, 2024. As part of the sentence, the passenger has been in custody for nearly 2 months as of this video’s production. He has also been ordered to pay $20,638 in restitution for his actions and the resulting diversion.

This kind of drunken behavior is ridiculous and these passengers should definitely be banned by the airline. But if the passenger was restrained with flexcuffs, why was it necessary to stop early in Bangor? This just made the ordeal for the other passengers worse by delaying their arrival for many more hours.

Interesting how this all "occurred in US airspace", and yet they managed to land in Bangor Maine.
That's barely 100 NM from the border. They must have crossed the controls, side slipped to dump altitude. ;-) !!
Well that’s because they’re 30,000 feet in the air. They have to have miles to lower the plane’s altitude
@@shadowwolf8496 Yes, that's sort-of my exact point. It seems unlikely (to me) that this all unfolded "in US airspace" since they somehow managed to land in Bangor ME. Thus, the events all unfolded in 25 seconds and the pilots immediately dived to Bangor losing 30,000 feet in 2 minutes.
