The Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit, if many churches are correct. If many churches are correct, the Trinity is a Family-- two Parents and a Progeny, similar to a human family.(Humans are made in the "likeness" and "image" of God according to Genesis 1:26, although the human author of Genesis probably didn't know about the Trinity when he wrote Genesis) In the book of Job, which is in the Bible, God is compared to a father and a mother with a womb "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens?"-Job 38:29. Because we can think of God as like a mother (Isaiah 42:14, Isaiah 66:13, Matthew 23:37, Catechism of the Catholic Church 2nd edition paragraph 239), all three roles(Father,Mother,Progeny) in a basic human family are filled in the Trinity. Saying that the Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit is another way of saying "the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son" which has been official Catholic teaching for centuries. The Church teaches that the Son is begotten by the Father. If this is correct, the Father is the Father(Parent) of the Son. The Church teaches that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. If this is correct, the Father and the Son are Parents of the Holy Spirit. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (second edition) paragraph 246 says that the Holy Spirit's "nature and subsistence" is "at once...from the Father and the Son."If the Church calls Mary mother(parent) of God even if Mary isn't the first source of Christ's humanity(God is the first source), then the Son can also be called a Parent of God (the Holy Spirit). If the Church is correct, the Father is the principle-Parent and the Son is the begotten-Parent. Some early Christians thought that the Holy Spirit was the Mother-figure because in the languages (Aramaic, Hebrew) that Jesus spoke (during Jesus' time and through at least the 4th century), Spirit was a feminine noun. (Some languages like Spanish assign genders to genderless nouns) The scriptures are vague if the Holy Spirit is the Second or Third Person of the Trinity, whichever of these is true, the First and the Second may be the Parents of the Third. Parent definition from Merriam-Webster dictionary: One that begets or brings forth offspring. Principle means base/foundation/first-source/first-origin/root-cause. The Church teaches that: Father, Son, Spirit are eternal (have always existed) and the Father is the Principle with regards to origin, not time. We can say that the Father and the Son are the eternal Parents of the eternal Spirit. Stay indoors to avoid flu and coronavirus. Stay indoors to avoid coronavirus and flu.

I never heard about President Lincoln and Catholics not getting along, although something interesting I learned reading Civil War history. In separate letters encouraging peace talks between the Union and the Confederacy, Pius IX addressed Lincoln as “Mr. Lincoln”, while in his letter to Jefferson Davis, addressed him as “President Davis”. Now Pius IX was a very well educated man, and he was born into an aristocratic family. He carried the title of “Count” into his seminary days, so you know he surely knew how to address a head of state. Great show, gentlemen.

Yes, interesting. It's almost as if there was a targeted attack to ruin the man's reputation & discredit him as a voice in the Church. Sooo glad that's only a conspiracy theory. Rest assured, political bodies (particularly the un-elected variety) always have your best interests at heart.
And how did these 'talk show' dudes get lost with the latest news... no wonder misinformation gets around! Sure they recorded it before the acquittal... at least mention a corrigendum before the broadcast (radio/podcast), or put a note up on the video at the appropriate point.

Good morning Catholic talk show god bless always.
A family story. My mother’s family were and are Catholic. My father’s family were basically Baptist and other Protestant religions. My mother’s family is French Canadian and my immediate family lived in San Francisco. My fathers family was in rural Missouri. By this time my parents were engaged. Just as the war was ending the army sent my Dad back to Missouri where my grandmother asked lots of questions about my mother. I guess when the subject of religion came up, my Grandmother stopped short and asked my Dad how much he knew about Catholics. She asked, did he know that on the wedding night the priest had to have sex with the bride before the groom could. My Dad obviously not thinking too clearly at this point, wrote a letter to my Mother and told her. She was furious. At this point the wedding was almost called off. Thankfully the wedding went on. They were married over fifty years until my father died. He was a great and wonderful father. My mother was the same wonderful mother. I was lucky to have these two as parents. We children were raised Catholics. Again, feel lucky to have been a cradle Catholic.
Concerning the Hitler's Pope theory, the movie 'The Scarlet and the Black' (Gregory Peck), while it is a Hollywood drama, likely gives a fair portrayal of Pius XII's stance, which seemed to me (a non-Catholic, but an admirer of many Catholic figures) doing what he could between a rock and a hard place...while his subordinates based there in the Vatican did some very dangerous deeds to protect what Jews they could reach...

Pope Gregory XVI ruled as pope from 183 through 1846; was succeeded by Pius IX, who convened the first Vatican Council in 1869.
Excuse me, 1831 through 1846, I intended to write. So, you must be referring to another Gregory at the 17:15 minute point.
Pope John Paul I was born in 1912, elected August 1978, died 33 days later in September 1978 at the age of 65 years old. Not 75 or 77 years old as the gentleman in the center claimed at the 14:40 minute point.

I knew something had gone awry in 2020 when two new catchphrases rose to prominence: "Support black-owned business" and "white working class (always presented as Trump voters)". Take the racial component out of each, and we're expected to support business and hate the working class. Hmmm... Neither side cares about race. They only care about keeping their polished boots on the necks of the poor and disenfranchised. What we need now is solidarity.

I’m glad you closed the discussion with the subject of Pope Pius XII, a genuine Catholic hero. Now, you should devote a whole show to him.
Speaking of conspiracies, it was the Soviet KGB that began depicting Pius as a Nazi sympathizer. They were retaliating against the Catholic Church for its stand against Communism. A third-rate playwright from East Germany helped them in their mission; unfortunately it has damaged Pius’s reputation to this day. For its timidity in refuting this slander, the Catholic Church deserves its share of blame!
Pius XII led the way in saving 860,000 Jewish lives, more than any other individual or organization. He made judicious use of Vatican Radio to speak out against Nazi oppression, and was praised by The New York Times, the Anti-Defamation League, and many others. Upon his passing in 1958, Golda Meir and Chaim Weizmann were among the Jewish leaders who expressed their gratitude. That Pope Pius XII has not been canonized - after 65 years - is a disgrace!

It's unfortunate, and troubling, that they chose to focus on the election of Cardinal Siri in 1958 as if it is the most important component of any "conspiracies" within that era of the Church. It's convenient that, although the white smoke billowed from the stack while the bells of St. Peters rang out and the Vatican radio anticipated the Pope's appearance at the window, it just happens to be the least verifiable piece of the puzzle. Cardinal Siri remained faithful to the magisterium until his death, so I have any reason to accept the thesis and do not consider myself a sedevacantist.
However, the root of the issue remained unexamined by this show and is a far more interesting discussion: Has there been an intentional, secular humanist strategy to influence institutions to produce a world that rejects Catholic morality, doctrine, dogmas, and traditions? And: Has that strategy successfully influenced the Catholic Church?
The answer to the first question is obviously "yes" and the events of the 20th century indicate the most likely answer to the second question is also "yes." The popes throughout the late 1800s through Pius XII openly acknowledged this reality and publicly fought against it while cultivating a resistance to its expansion. The modern iteration of this enemy selected a subversive strategy after seeing cathedrals built on the graves of martyrs who gave their lives for Christ. Whether under the mask of Freemasonry, Marxism, Communism, or Secular Humanism; the strategy is to approach the youth in schools to ensure they do not grow into properly formed adults. Those children grew to lead institutions and transform the society into one that rejects Christ. The primary and secondary schools were targeted. The seminaries were targeted. Talk to a college student for 5 minutes and you will be overwhelmed with evidence that this strategy was successful. It is only logical to conclude that incremental success over time produced a critical mass of secular humanists in leadership roles inclined to promote like minded people. There is no reason to believe the Church was exempt from this influence and it is irresponsible to witness the shift in the Church's approach to Modernism without questioning the motivations of the hierarchy that steered the barque of St. Peter into the rocks.
None of this is to say that the overwhelming influence at the 2nd Vatican Council was Freemasons implementing the New World Order under the direction of Aliens. Yet there is no logical reason to reject the idea that the influence of certain philosophers was allowed to lead the Church so dramatically off course over the past 50 years. The flawed ideas advanced by the writings of Congar, Schillebeeckx, Kung, von Balthasar, and others who had influence over the Council after the initial agenda was tossed may be reconcilable with the historical teaching of the Church when evaluated by properly formed Bishops and Cardinals of the era but it introduced an ambiguity that metastasized. Schillebeeckx openly admitted the Council documents were purposely constructed to allow for the problematic interpretation that has unfolded and that they already understood how the ambiguity would be implemented after the Council ended.
We can laugh off the theories surrounding Cardinal Siri all day long, but we must be careful not to laugh off the influences driving the changes of the era and their effects on our current situation.
Cardinal Siri was threatened by Freemasonic Satanists in the Vatican. He was elected Pope in 1958. John XXIII was a Freemason, that alone made him excommunicated from the Catholic Church.

Two small corrections. There was an actual Pope Gregory XVI who was Bl. Pius XI's predecessor. Also, Ven. John Paul I was 65 when he died, just a few weeks shy of turning 66. His niece is a physician who stated that there is a history of sudden death in his family.
