I'm not an expert on the reliability of this new motor but I personally haven't heard of any issues so far. The main Volvo complaint is the touchscreen being slow to boot which they improved with the faster processors in all 2019 models.
I own a volvo 850R sedan with 90K miles. EVERY EURO CAR SUCKS ASS IN RELIABILITY SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LOTS OF MONEY. Yes i know my 850R sedan is from 1997 but the new volvos now suck in reliability. I used to have to take in the sedan every month to the mechanic and hes been getting rich from me. But the new S60/S90 is a VERY unique car with lots of performance. I'd highly get one if you can spend stacks on maintenance
Hey Matt, great review, I think the first r designs came with sport chassis standard like the rest of the world, then Volvo decided to make it a $200 option for the US, so in the States only you can get an r design with the reg touring suspension, I was wondering if you had a chance to drive one without sport suspension & did it ride much better? Also was the handling a huge difference? Thx man
I know that they are different cars but please compare the handling and fun of driving between the Mustang EcoBoost premium and this car. Which one is more fun?
Totally different experiences and it depends on what is more fun to you, rear wheel drive or all wheel drive. I personally like rear wheel drive better so the Mustang is more fun, but if you need all wheel drive and want a premium interior, the Volvo is great.
Nice review Matt! But it's a bit funny you didn't mention the G70, which competes directly with this car. The G70 has more power, nicer interior, and dynamically a better drivers' car. It's also in that low 50's range you mentioned. Stinger is a better match for the A5 and 4 Series rather than the S60.
@@Landrenk Even the Polestar is no match for that 3.3tt in the G70. Yes, I was referencing the 3.3 by virtue of price. And Volvo has no 6 cylinder engines.
having driver position memory without a power tilt/telescoping wheel is stupid. steering wheel position is a major key position for the different drivers. having to manually ajust it every time drivers change is lame.
@@TMS5100 I think its a bit excessive to call it useless. The seat is the thing that takes the longest to adjust, steering wheel is easy to do, just pull it out and push up or down and it locks. Takes about 2 seconds. I know this because we have a car that has this. Its not useless at all.
It's really worth it tho. The best audio system I have experienced in any car. Bowers and Wilkins is the best in-car audio manufacturer imo. They also provide systems to McLaren, Maserati and BMW. Harman Kardon is not as great but still amazing.
It just looks laggy because of the camera framerate sync. If the cameras framerate and the screens framerate aren't in sync it causes it to look laggy even though it really doesn't look like that when you watch it with your own eyes. Ever try to film a screen with your phone? Then you will get a similar effect. Thats why it l8oks laggy.
That huge screen is disappointing...more technology means it will break sooner. I have seen way too many Volvo’s on the side of the road. These are horrible for reliability and resale value...
rm brooklyn well it’s because it doesn’t even have physical buttons. Like why? More technology will make it break easily. I just don’t understand why there can’t be any buttons. Buttons are more practical and easier to use. Size does not matter, unless there’s no buttons.
@@JJustinXu Although I don't think less buttons makes something less reliable, I do miss having a button for everything. Mild hybrid with electronic upstart is a disaster and expensive to repair. A boring car disguised in large tires that ruin the ride quality, vague and numb steering, expensive sound system, laggy center console that will only become slower, false sense of comfort, safety and luxury.
