A thing to note about Touch and Roll is that you can use the D Pad, which definitely feels more natural than using the touch screen. And on the 3DS or an emulator, you can even use the circle pad/an analogue stick which feels even better.
Adventure also had a PSP version with exclusive story bits and stages...'Cause that's fair. Though I will say Adventure's Race mode is absolute chaotic nonsense. And I love it for that.
smb2's level design took the ironclad og physics and pushed them to incredible heights smb3d's level design did zilch to take advantage of its physics period

The sheer amount of content in Banana Mania puts it far above any of the other games. I absolutely love SMB2 (not so much SMB1) but Banana Mania beats them both.
Its great but what really makes monkey ball shine imo is its precise gameplay that the original games nailed. No amount of extra content can overtake the older games if it can’t be on the same level as them with its gameplay.
While i respect your opinion i would have to most heartedly disagree on adventure. Yes its not an original game or close to the basics BUT i love that you get to explore a story mode and while the controls and spawn places are frusturating, i managed to get the hang of it. once you know where everything is and are used to the controls i see it as a blast and something fun to play.
Adventure is underrated imo!! I love the Monkey Ball characters so much, so I love having a storyline about them, but it could be better of course!!! My favorites are 1 and 2 and then Deluxe!!

Oh, interesting! remember playing it back in the day on my R4 being thoroughly unimpressed with the touch controls.

Touch and Roll is a really fun game if you use the d-pad but the touch controls (like you said) are really bad.
