I love the versatility of the Helix devices, its everything from a plethora of full on firebreathing rigs to play through a pa/studio monitor, to a pedal board for the front / loop of an amp.

Hey thanks Anthony. I appreciate your comments. I'm starting to get my head around the Helix the more I play it. To my ears it sounds and feels great... Just like a Tube/Valve amp. I suspect I am really just tipping the ice berg of the many capabilities it has. Thanks man.

0:36 How? Is there like a patch you made!?
PS, what kind of bridge is that on your guitar?

That badboy sounds great. I have been debating on buying the Helix LT, the Headrush whatever, or an actual amp (probably the H&K Grandmeister 36. The more videos I watch about the Helix the more I'm leaning toward it. Great video. Thanks.

Kyle Tate thanks man. I appreciate this. I tried to be light hearted in this video. The helix is great. I’ve heard good things about the headrush too. I’m a big Marshall guy and I’ve been using helix for six months instead. Easier to carry around. Live it is amazing. Just got make sure you have good fold back

Would it be that bad if I connect a dynamic mic into the Helix LT?

Have you uploaded any patches to the Helix tone site?

    • @chrisbarclay

Jed Wunderli not yet. I plan to. I’ve just updated my firmware to 2.30 and mucked something up a bit. Cheers Chris

is this good for someone who wants to discover their own tone ?

Psygodnp hmmm... that’s a tricky one. Not sure 🤔 about that. I reckon it might be in the sense you could discover what you like from all the amp and effect selections then you could try to get the real analogue gear if you wanted. Maybe a Helix is enough? For me I would still need a real amp in my life. Thanks 🙏🏻

Maybe I missed this, but what cab do you play you Helix through?

    • @chrisbarclay
      @chrisbarclay  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hey Don thanks man for hooking up. On this video I am playing through a pair of Behringer P.A speakers out in stereo. The cab choices I used within the helix were the 4x12 1960 T75 and the 4x12 Cali V30

What were you running the Helix through?

Hi man. My two passive Beyerdynamic P.A speakers and mixer.I feel they act a lot like an amplifier. Thanks 🙏🏻

So do you think with those it gives a amp in the room feel per say as opposed to a recording? (Im sure thats a stretch since its a model of a recorded amp)

Yeah I do. At home at least. I definitely feel the chunk chunk bottom end out of mine like a 4x12 cab or something. I get big harmonics and feedback too. But I'm only playing the helix high gain amps. It seems to get more responsive and dynamic the louder my P.A gets too. I would say in all honesty at home it feels like two half stacks in stereo the way I have it set up. My patches are in stereo too so it sounds big and spatial. I do feel it depends on the type of amps you are emulating. I'm playing live for the first time with it on Wednesday with backing tracks into a serious big P.A. I'm going to go out in Stereo and I'm curious to see how it will feel and sound there. I hope that helps a little. I'm no Helix guru but still learning as I go. I will post some video of my gig later.

    BUT WHERE’S THE TOAN?!?!

Why is it, that people supposedly into audio, can't seem to balance their levels. Your dialog is way too low in comparison to the instrument level.
