The best video on the Genitive case out there. I love the practice section. It's something I'll be going back to not only for the case but to review the vocabulary. Thank you very much. Дуже дякую.

Often knowledge of a related language does not help, but on the contrary is confusing 😢💝

Thank you, this video is helping so much! How do you know when to do a root change (like for example слова => слів)?

at 43:12 - how come "гроші" turns into "грошей"?
And thanks for the great vid :)

And the same question for 45:26 when "відповіді" turns into "відповідей". Where did the "ей" come from?

@Hébréophone oh yeah, guess I didn't mention this in a video. So, if a singular feminine noun ends in a consonant, then its plural form in genitive will ends in -ей: ніч (ночі - ночей), відповідь (відповіді - відповідей). Some other feminine nouns ending in -a, -я will take ending -ей rather as an exception: миша (миші - мишей), свиня (свині - свиней), воша (воші - вошей).
Masculine (only 2): гроші - грошей, коні - коней.
Neuter: очі - очей, плечі - плечей.
Another group of nouns that takes -ей in genitive are the nouns that are always used in plural: діти - дітей, люди - людей, кури - курей, etc.
