i think people who don't play instruments don't understand how athletic this actually is. usually with wind instruments you put all your breath into playing, they're dancing while still playing, and also without sheet music, they had to memorise everything. this is really, really impressive.
The band always has the most Fun and Humor. (Even when the drum line instigates 😂)
Great times!
marching percussions: not today bitc-
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯precisely!!
im in my school marching band, and its already hard to play my instrument while marching, let alone dancing. 🥲
I've been in a school corps/band, our school has not attempted dancing while marching, so by the sight of this I'm just really impressed.
I'm just woahh that must have taken a lot of practising.
as a former clarinet player I can for sure say that they're way better.
These are HIGH SCHOOLERS?? They're performing like actual professionals! They are phenomenal!
99% of them are girls and it's the senior band so they're chosen from just 25% of the school.
Kyoto Tachibana High School is not a school specializing in music, but a normal three-year private high school (aged 16-18). The brass band club is an after-school club activity that any student can join.
京都橘高等学校は、音楽に特化した学校ではなく普通の3年制私立高等学校(年齢は16歳~18歳)です。吹奏楽部は、学生なら誰でも入部できる放課後に活動するクラブ活動です。
its Asia. what do you expect?
That's Japan for you. They have a belief that you choose the path you want to pursue and that becomes the one and only focus in your life and you need to honor the art of it by achieving as close to perfection as possible
One of them even does all this on one leg.
just one drummer to carry the whole band and her timing is impeccable.
one snare but es she is good
She was right in the pocket the whole time. Absolute groove on her.
I almost cried at the flutes. The amount of air you must need to be playing *perfectly* and to be doing any choreography at the same time 😭
“almost cried “……I literally cried ❤
Playing flute while dancing while smiling and while obviously having a great time - and making everyone else happy - sorry to all the other musicians - but I was a flute player in a parade band - and later a dancer in a parade band - so ...

7:50 it's a whole new world
I love how some people are walking around like “oh god it’s that highschool again”

Japan is a place where roaving armies of musicians invade the cities at will, ravaging the ears of the frightened people with family friendly standards.

Qué hermosura de compás y que bella música que sirva para que los jóvenes lo tomen como un bello ejemplo saludos desde la Florida ulder vaca
The choreography was way too tight for it to have been their first time performing this route. They probably see this shit like every week
5:16 the xylophone girl is on another level, and she's even marching on a choreographic manner and playing like this
Good job to everyone in this highschool! They're playing all to the standards of adult proffessionals with years of experience!
😉👉#ovils
🎉❤😊
I truly cannot imagine anything (realistic) that I would suffer more from than having to carry a xylophone, dance, and play the thing all at the same time. But xylophone girl looks like she's having the time of her life
I made a similar comment on another performance where she was playing the conga drum. And, she is super cute!
@@user-wh8bl1fk4h is she going out of her way to pick the heaviest things possible??

It's almost like Japan has their education system be one of their top priorities.
Just goes to show what an involved Band Director is capable of. My marching band admired our instructors greatly for all the dedication they showed in getting us a gig at Disneyworld.
I was part of the University of Oregon marching band when we were in the Rose Parade two years after them...I gotta say that they put on a much more impressive display. I'll talk up my Ducks all day but dancing like that while playing that well is actually an incredible feat, serious respect to all of them
I was in the U of O band also, 1964 - 1967. We were not even close to this level of performance.
First marching band I've heard in a parade that was actually in tune.
maybe it's because you don't know the bands here in brazil that play a rythm called "frevo" in carnival... they're not a marching band but are amazing!!!
The uniform is so adorable, reminds me of pumpkin pie.

As a trumpet player for 35 years I have to say this is damn impressive. That you can keep a quality sound while landing from a jump is amazing. As is your stamina to do it for 30 minutes non-stop.
I couldn't agree more. My high school band never lost a competition and for a high school band was exceptionally good, and we knew it. Now I'm not so sure. These girls, for the most part, could kick virtually any American band's butt! Shocking how good they are!!!
They have to play and dance at the same time!!! Really wonderful!!
Guys, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Watch their charity concert at Kennedy HighSchool. I had the opportunity to watch them live. No equipment can capture the electrifying presence of these kids.
I think i caught one of the crowd actually smiling, must be a tourist !!
It’s them Asian genetics tho
I don’t think I could play the trombone standing still dancing like they were doing, let alone WHILE MARCHING. I’m speechless.
The xylophone girl is literally so amazing
the way they just do everything so neatly makes me look at my high school and think they didn't even try
😂 That made me laugh!
thats bc they dont try, mot highschoolers in america are horny little shits that are too stupid to talk to get anything cool like this done lol, hell my old school had a mass chlamydia outbreak bc they wouldnt stop fucking randoms
🤣🤣🤣
Japan also has a depressingly high suicide rate because of stuff like this they're pushed past their limits
probably. Most HS band programs are not well funded or motivated despite the good chance of getting a scholarship for the students.
The whole 5 dudes in this band must really enjoy the lives.
They're living in an IRL anime

For me, the limit for TH-cam video length is 8 to 9 minutes. I tend to skip videos that are longer than that. When TH-cam recommended this video to me, it was 27 minutes long, so I watched it thinking that I would probably end up skipping along again, but the result was completely different. Surprisingly, I didn't miss a single second of the entire 27 minutes and watched it in no time. I've watched it over and over again since then. There are many other videos of this band on TH-cam, some of which are over an hour long. I end up watching all of those videos on a daily basis without getting tired of them. An incredible band with great charm.

Welcome on board, but You should stop watching their videos right now otherwise you will be like me. I am continuously watching Tachibana’s performance for three days in row without break and still feel thirsty to find another video. It is very dangerous to be a fan of Tachibana❤😊🎉
Welcome to the addiction! There is no known cure and.I've had it for 6 years and love it. You're not alone!
The fact that some can hold a heavy instrument for so long and walk, dance and march at the same time... incredible. I could barely hold a toothpick sitting down.

I was in the band in high school. Played alto sax. But I am really impressed by the last girl in the formation to the back on the right with the fake leg. She is really doing it. And from experience I will tell you parades are no joke. It takes a lot of endurance to march , dance and play. And she is doing it with a prosthetic leg. Champion!!
Thank you for pointing her out. They make look so easy. We know it takes hours of grueling practice and dedication to give us such a super performance.❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's not a fake, that young student really is very impressive and famous. She was in the Rose Parade and completed it. Five and a half miles. Get your head round that.
@@Guard-Reg They aren't insulting her, they are pointing out how great her performance was especially with the PROSTHETIC or FAKE leg. Get your head around that.

@@TheYoungik I've been a part of a marching band as well when i was in HS and I've lived my youth to the fullest as i can. My experienced is nothing compared to this level cuz students in our school thinks that joining a marching band was just a chore and our school is low on budget at that times. so- rip.. My point is, its all about *where* you can be freely to do as much as anything you want... without having any hassles and interuptions but ppl in different countries act so differently in these kinds of events. Thats why people like us are having a hard time to commit on it and cooperate because of any other circumstances around us making it so difficult to achieve something this greater.
I saw their video playing disney songs somewhere in California(i think its in one a disney park) is one of the greatest thing i've ever seen. Their smiles shows the outcome of their hardwork, it made me shed a tear for a lil bit (goddamn onion cutting ninjas). Reminds me of that time seeing all the people came out of from their houses just to see us playing our band playa instrument parading outside the streets of the philippines, under the heat and bathing sweat. For me, just by seeing their joy, relieves my thirst and exhaustion. It makes me pound my snare drum louder and clearer.
anyways.. maybe try saying and apply it to yourself first, instead of you just sitting here, commenting stupid shit" lmao
It's japan 🤣
@@Vannilla I wouldn't say that Japanese highschool kids are any more or less committed to things on average than American students. The thing with Japan (and Asia in general as far as I can tell) is that the have no problem separating their students, with the most talented students attending top schools dedicated to that particular subject. Doing a little bit of googling, Tachibana is a private school that is tied in with Tachibana university, so my guess is these are all the top musicians skimmed off all the local high schools.
Me:well I will watch just a little bit
Also me 27 min later: wait it already end? Wtf
Same here! I bet if this were an American high school, i would have been bored after 60 seconds and stopped watching, but these kids are so damn impressive and engaging, i can't look away!
@PATRfilms PRODUCTIONS it's local road with roof, surrounded by many stores.
I have to say as an American - these Japanese kids are better than 98% of anything we do here - I have watched this like 100 times it’s so good!!!
Yep. Every brass players there play better than highly selected US regional orchestra brass section, let alone some average high school band brass. Massive difference in dedication and discipline.
Dude? Why comparing? Just appreciate both
@@douglas2085 Why does it bother you that someone compared a very common comparison you hear about? Why not take it from your own words and appreciate that they are better and MUCH MORE well disciplined, I mean honestly we're talking about "America" one of the least disciplined/more "up in your face" nation, the reputation isn't exactly "respectable" and as one (and many others) from America, it's just nice to see how well and better another country can be, inspirational if not, so comparison is actually good than being a blind eye to the lesser that we are (when it comes to certain things) compared to what we can achieve (seeing from others) and can improve on.
@@noctis6826 did you know that Japan has one of the highest suicide rates because of this culture of perfection? One simply cannot judge any individual because it's impossible to know his her life story.
i think it's the educational values in Japan, honestly. education is *everything* there, and because of that, discipline and adaptability are skills that are required to succeed. you also have to be driven, and they instill these values into their students at a very young age. in America, there's a frighteningly large amount of students who put in minimal effort, and some students just stop altogether, or even worse they just drop out. there's also a lack of respect and discipline in American education. I'm sure American children could have very promising results as well but they're lacking all of those things and lacking good instructors as well
😍😍😍 10:44 What a surprise! A famous and graceful song from Brazil named Festa do Interior (Countryside Party) by Moraes Moreira:

That one flute player at the rear of the band is pretty badass.

damn as someone who was a symphonic band nerd (clarinet) throughout high school I can't even comprehend how they could play wind instruments so cleanly while literally jumping around and dancing. any misalignment of embouchure can drastically change tone and pitch. the amount of practice they must have put in is insane
It's the reed instruments that get me. You've literally got the mouth peace between your teeth. How are they not knocking their own teeth out every time they jump?
And HOW did they practice the steps? Do you think they just marched round and round an athletics track?!

I don't have words for this. I've heard HS bands but this is beyond anything I've heard before. The musical selections, arrangements, and precision in choreography are spectacular. I can't imagine the dedication, energy, and practice these performances take. Simply amazing. and professional.
I hear that the students in charge of the club carry out the selection of songs to be played, the composition of the songs, and the choreography of the dances. The music adviser teacher will help them with the arrangement of the songs they play.
It's surprising that students can do so much in regular high school after-school club activities.
It's important to understand this a high school that specializes in music and the reason kids go to that school is to join the marching band. There really isn't any equivalent in the United States. Major cities in the US will have music and art-focused high schools, but those schools focus on concert music and rarely, if at all, do any marching band work. Marching bands in the US are much more local and only practice during fall for football season.
To show my point I'll explain what the US would have to do to match this high school. You would take a similar population area such as Minneapolis-St Paul and form a marching band out of all the best players in the metropolitan area. Those players would then spend multiple hours each day practicing for marching band all year long. That is what it would take to match this band. The US doesn't see this kind of filtering and dedication to practice until a person gets to College or if they perform in Drum Corps International (DCI). Even then, Colleges and DCI only practice marching band on a seasonal basis, so a Japanese High School would practice more than the top marching bands in the US.
Now, THAT's what you call a marching band.
How do any of these remarkable musicians dance and play at the same time - particularly the Marimba/Xylophone players. Just awesome. This is the way the world should be - happy and at peace.

Sure, watching from Bangkok, enjoying the skill, precision and passion. Full of vitality and super good looking team also and naturally I have found favourites especially the snare drummer who plays with clarity and strength.
The last girl on the far right has a prosthetic leg and still performs just as flawlessly as every other band member. Absolutely incredible.
Why does it look to me like it’s only a bandaged leg (a normal one at that ~~~).
It's just a natural skin color light flexible knee brace (not those thick heavy types of knee braces)
@@naigino1 It's not a knee brace. It is a prosthetic leg.
My grandfather had a prosthetic leg like that. I think his leg was cut off halfway or 2/3 up the calf. I'm very impressed she can skip on it. The leg is smaller than her other one and she is not pointing her toes or moving ankle when others are so I very much doubt it's a knee brace.

Festa do interior é de alegrar a alma rs
They are not marching band,,Lol! They are like dancing orchestra in a parade... absolutely amazing
That description is gold
lol truee
all of that and a marching band also..they still march..but they do things i have never seen anyone else do..they are totally amazing!
These people are WAAAY better than any marching band I've ever seen in america!! 😮 (also hoping the people walking by don't bump into them and disrupting their performance)
I have seen comparable. The marching band that I was in during Highschool was phenomenal. We won a ton of competitions on the state level. Needless to say, there are even better bands out there that compete on national levels. You don't see parade marches too often here though, I have noticed. I have been in a few of them, but American Marching bands do most of their work on the football field.
Amazing stamina, whoever was drumming was killing it, i would mess it up for everyone so bad
Literally no one:
Tachibana high school students: *being an amazing marching band*
That girl in orange with black hair is cute😀.
and with bangs
Kinda Willy Wonka 'esk
and ponytail
I like the one with the exotic eyes!
happy
Бравооо!! Такое ощущение что девчонки из другой планеты! Я не шучу..., а вы попробуйте плясать, танцевать и при этом так классно играть.. Браво! Думаю это Япония так веселиться!!
I play the trumpet and couldn’t imagine having to do a kick like while playing, I think I would die.
these girls must be the pride of Kyoto, basically like the football club in the US with all the cool dudes, just in female pumpkin version
Ther are several boys in there too!
@Woody Last Name tactical masterstroke from those lads!
I wonder if there is a HS band in Japan
that can challenge this group.
I was thinking to myself, what can you say about a Japanese High School band?
Everybody is practically the same height and body build.
Nobody has pink hair, tattoos, or body piercings.
Their playing and choreography is spot on.
Great job and dedication guys and gals. I'm sure all of your parents are glowing with pride. :)
@@superdave8248 I was observing the same thing. Everyone is healthy. No one is over weight. Very professional. You won't see things like that in the US. Everyone is a mess.
They even synchronize the wagging of their ponytails. 22:10
Omg
Underrated comment lmfao
Holy fuck..they did. lmao
the drummers are amazing
playing is hard enough and then synchronized dancing too ! Great stuff
You forgot the marching brah
exactly. You see alot of show band that "look good" but their sound quality is really really bad. This band is the only show band i see that has really good sound quality while doing snchonized dancing.
I can’t believe they had all of that choreography AND great, balanced sound. Not only that, these are high school kids! Normally, when a band is in a parade and you record them, the microphone typically passes the bless-his-heart kid that is sloppy, out of tune and probably marching on the wrong foot. There is not a single kid like that here! Well done.
It is very hard, I am in color guard for marching band and my instructer always says "A guard who counts together spins together" and it really helps. I serious love these people though

It's easy to see why they participated in the Rose Bowl Parade
Amazing!! Thank you. WOW! Greetings from Canada!
Girl on last row to the right is missing left leg and still does all the dance moves, very impressive.
It's a knee wrap/bandage wtf
@@kenmasters5509 8:07 it's a prosthetic leg.
@@kenmasters5509 oh you know nothing, www.pasadenastarnews.com/2017/12/18/japanese-student-with-prosthetic-leg-to-perform-with-rose-parade-marching-band/amp/
Wow i didnt notice it untill i read this
But she dances like if it wasnt missing
Such a ralent
I have 2 legs and i cant dance 😂
It's prosthetic.. it is a bit thin on the knee.
My sister taught band for 30 years when she seen that band she actually cried she could not believe a high school band could be so perfect
*when she saw
@@Kakashigirl250 last week
It’s Japan... understandable... they aspire perfection in anything and everything
I was sent this clip by a girl on another clip and tell your sister she's not alone. I was in marching band for 5 years in school, a hundred years ago. Gave up 2 months in the summer every year so we could learn pre game and half time shows plus practice for parades. We worked hard but no where near as hard as these kids. They run 3 miles a day before they touch their instruments. They're incredible

percussionist is amazing
Playing those instruments is hard enough already....and their doing it while dancing!...in synchronization :O OMG
Its japan, where else would you find students moving in good synchronisation
And it's very cold, see what the else dressing. It's difficult to keep fingers flexibility.
As the saying goes, “There is always an Asian better than you”.
Another Country : you just can't walk, dancen and playing marching band at same time. Japan : Hold my Sake...
I dont know how I got here, but I'm impressed.
These girls and boys know how to entertain people.
Bit late but a standing ovation from the Netherlands.
I'm not sure why this showed up on my recommended, but I'm not disappointed. Well done Japan!
same!
Same!!
*same*
Same with me.
TH-cam finally recommended something awesome! And it’s not often that you hear a song from Disney’s “Enchanted” in the middle of a Disney medley. This was great! 👍
Thanks to you I found the name of that song 😁 Thanks a bunch! 👍
