Every morning I grab a nice cup of honey/ lemon tea and look to see what kind of fabulous creation Davie has tied for us! It is the perfect way to start your day! Thanks Davie, from New Hampshire USA!
A typical model for tracking sea trout in the Baltic! A very beautiful montage, very refined, translucent as are often the small shrimps that live in the seagrass of the beaches of this sea where you can catch fish from the edge of the beach or in very little water. Thank you for this model that I will hasten to reproduce in order to try it in March on a spot located not very far from where I live, near Wismar. All the best and best wishes for this year which is starting off with a bang! Y.S.
i wish i could tie, that fly looks perfect for catching sea-trout in the tide were i fish, id nail them with that as my dropper behind my line threw lure, great fly 👍👍👍
Hi Davie, you had a saltwater tank? #Respect, you must have courage and determination! I stuck to Guppies from the Mono drains! Oh, nice fly! Cheers mate. Harera
Good Morning Sir, you mentioned using a coq de leon feather for a mayfly spinner pattern, do you have a video of that already? I'm very interested in learning to ty that pattern. I absolutely love how you used the coq de leon on this shrimp pattern. I tied my first shrimp the day this video came out. Here in Texas by the coast we can fish for big reds and speckled trout and they love shrimp. I am very interested in learning how to ty a mayfly with coq de leon. Thank you, I hope to see a video of you or a link on how to 🙂. Have a blessed day Sir Davie.
Hi Edward, I have attached a couple of links to spinner patterns that I used the Coq de Leon on for you to see..I'm glad you enjoyed the video and many thanks for the kind words.. All the very best Davie.. th-cam.com/video/58xzprkstIw/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/9LD9xC0Z1HY/w-d-xo.html
Another great tie and start of the morning. I am wondering what it would look like with some dyed coq de Léon. Do you think the feathers would take the dye?
Hi Dominique, I have a few natural and dyed colours of the Whiting Coq de Leon that I have used in a few flies over the years.. Here is a link to some of them for you to see..I'm glad you liked the fly.. All the very best Davie.. www.tightlinesflyfishing.com/store/p1493/whiting-coq-de-leon-rooster-capes-dyed.html
Hi Rustyboyyy1, I have attached a couple of videos that show how these flies are being fished which I found on TH-cam for you to see. There's many that fish the coastline like this for sea trout which I used to do a lot when we had some great runs of these fish..I'm glad you liked the fly.. Hi Fliegenfischer, The main reason for tying it in by the tip is because the fibres are slightly longer and have a better colour so it suits the tying of the shrimp..I'm glad you liked the fly.. All the very best Davie..

Nice fly!!! Very interesting… no shrimp here except in the grocery store…
I've been wanting try a shrimp pattern In my local bath, thank you very much Davie
If you tie the last two beads on the hook still attached to the chain- THEN cut away the chain...its less fiddling about with the beads
