Spring garden out, Summer garden in! | Zone 8 gardening | May 2024

It's time to replace the spring plants with summer plants. We are harvesting broccoli, pruning brassicas, and getting rid of the cauliflower plants that have been destroyed by bugs. Then we are going to plant some peppers in their place!

When did you plant that broccoli? Did you keep them covered?

I think it was early March? I didn't put any kind of pest covering on them. I have some, I just never did get around to it. I also have a bad habit of planting too close together which I think makes the pest load even worse. Oh well, I'll do better next year (I might even try again in the fall)! 😊
