OH, the legends will last for as long as their recordings are played and replayed and introduced to new generations again and again. Just think you have a part in all that. Thank you.
@neillenet291 years ago there was a website some Butt- nugget started called FansAgainstFloyd. He spent most of his time bashing Gilmour's slow style. Yes, he was a fan of all the guitar slingers of the day and high speed runs on a guitar. I hope he's grown up enough now to appreciate the complexity of Gilmour's playing.
@donpardo2510 In my band we have a very young guitarist who can shred like nobody's business. One day he came over to work on some songs and I played him the Pink Floyd pulse concert. Literally changed his life. Now he LOVES David Gilmour's playing. He thanked me for showing him that video.
And of course later in the concert David Bowie shows up to sing Arnold Lane and sing half of Comfortably Numb with David Gilmore! Also David Gilmour David Bowie and David Crosby were standing there in one of the sections of the DVD commentary and David Bowie says hey look 3D!!
Thanks, L33.. this was always one of my favorites.. just behind "Wish you were here"... almost everything from Dark Side & Wish were heavily influenced and/or dedicated to Syd.. appreciate your reaction (also, that I had not seen/heard this version before).... and give it up for Richard (RIP).. such an integral part of the band and their sound....p.s. if you hadn't heard before, David was the one that always kept in touch with Syd after he left, and made sure he got his share of the band's royalties..
Yeah, it doesn't get as much respect as it should. I like it a fair bit more than the Gdansk and Pompeii videos he put out. In latter day solo years, this is pretty much his peak. And the Crosby, Gils and Nash version of Find the Cost of Freedom is beautiful. Also worth remembering that David Bowie sings Numb but more brilliantly Arnold Layne which is amazing, amazing.
It would be REALLY worth it to get the blu-ray of this concert. My parents bought it when it came out, and I watched it growing up many times. It's right next to Pulse as the best concert I've ever seen on tv. Trust me the whole thing is just amazing.
Beautiful song done by magical people. Can’t get much better than that. L33 was thinking the same thing about Stephen stills & Dave playing together. Also singing together. That would have been something to see! Keep up the great work. I truly ❤ this channel.
sadly two of these legends have since passed…. Richard and Crosby. And a third who performed at this show as well, Bowie. So awesome that they all shared this stage together. Dick Parry I believe is still kicking but he hasn’t performed with David since around this time. It’s one thing to be pushing 80 and to sing, play the keys, guitar, but the breath work it takes to play the sax is probably way more difficult when you get up there. Love the drummer, Steve. He was in Nash’s touring band but David “borrowed” him long term. I saw Crosby and Nash, with Steve on druns in a small venue maybe around 2012. Crosby was well known for being spicy and his relationship with Nash ebbed and flowed, but that night they were awesome together. I never quite appreciated how good of a singer Crosby was until I heard him fill that theater with this amazing voice when he did Delta, and also the two of them doing cost of freedom together. Lucky to have seen all these guys live.
This is probably David's most luscious guitar version of Shine On, just amazing. We lost the great David Crosby last year at 81 yrs old. RIP. However David Gilmour has a new album coming out in September and is planning a tour as we speak. So far he's got New York and LA lined up in the U.S. Come on Chicago!! 🤞
What a fucking cool cooporation from David Crosby and Graham Nash with David Gilmoure this very - very cool song from Pink Floyd ! Thanks for sharing and all thumbs up fom hamburg/germany 👍👍👍
Amazing version of this Classic Track. The great Dick Parry on Sax, who performed it on the original Album, ‘Wish You Were Here’. As well as playing Sax on the phenomenal, ’The Dark Side Of The Moon’ Album. Both Albums of course, are meant to be heard from beginning to end, as they’re intended to be. Hope you get to do those great Albums sometime soon. I’m looking forward to David’s new Solo Album this coming September. And in October, seeing David and his Band, live, back at the ‘Royal Albert Hall’. 🎶🎸❤️🎸🎶
I'm celebrating 50 years of friendship with one of my best friends this year, but there are a few good people from the same time period I have drifted away from... and inevitably some have died too. There is still time to make new friends, though, or there can be if you let it happen.
I'm sure you know this, but in case you were unaware, Steve Distanislao had been Crosby and Nash's drummer for many years prior to touring with Gilmour. Gilmour borrowed him from CN. That's why they flirt with each other on stage.
Listen to A Boat Lies Waiting. Richard wright had died. So a boat lies waiting refers to his boat because he was an avid sailor. Listen to the lyrics. Another thing you may not be aware of is that David Gilmour's wife Polly Sampson wrote many of Pink Floyd's lyrics. Surprise!!
If i had never seen the live Pulse version, i would love this. To be honest, compared to Pulse i would rate this for performance about 40% and maybe 30% for the music and vocals. If you havent seen the Pulse or earlier tours versions, late 1980's and 1994, then you havent seen Pink Floyd live, except Meddle ( and Echoes ) live in Pompeii 1971 is just as good.
From the same concert, David playing sax and, showing beyond doubt whatever he plays he's got his own unique sound. th-cam.com/video/HiliWUh9jZ0/w-d-xo.html
The synthesizer on this version is not turned up enough and it looses alot of the distinct feeling of when Dave and Rich change up and the song grabs you like no other
Every guitar wants a David Gilmour for Xmas
That`s funny, and incredibly true lmao
The sax switch is awesome indeed. The way Dick Parry just casually shakes his shoulder and grabs the other sax.
Yep. Just like the way Steve Howe switches guitars.😊
How does David sound so good? It's an insanely clean guitar tone... Holy cow. Nobody does it like him.
OH, the legends will last for as long as their recordings are played and replayed and introduced to new generations again and again. Just think you have a part in all that. Thank you.
You’re bloody well right!
My god when David plays that intro… I am IN THAT WORLD.
David Gilmour's playing is so much more interesting than people playing a million notes per second

@@neillenet291 I have no problem with a shredder but thanks for converting your friend
Historical. A performance of a song that deserves a museum on its own
So great to have videos like this to keep the memories alive! Super star stage!! Always loved this song....
And of course later in the concert David Bowie shows up to sing Arnold Lane and sing half of Comfortably Numb with David Gilmore! Also David Gilmour David Bowie and David Crosby were standing there in one of the sections of the DVD commentary and David Bowie says hey look 3D!!
My sister and I scored tickets to see him at Madison Square Garden next Fall. A bucket list item for us both. We are huge fans!
The sax player, Dick Parry, is the sax player on the original recording, also on "Money" and "Us and Them.". He's incredible.
THAT SAX, NOTE FOR NOTE, OFF THE STUDIO VERSION. INCREDIBLE, BRILLIANT..!!!
ROCK ON 👊🖖

I'm going to have to research the rest of this show
2006 live at the Royal Albert hall
It's off the "remember the/that night" by David gilmour. At the royal Albert hall 2006 like the comment above says :)
They sing Find the Cost of Freedom. It’s so good.

On an island from the same dvd would be an appropriate and awesome choice
Oh Man, I caught this tour at Radio City in 06, Fat Old Sun from the same DVD Remember that Night is awesome. Thanks for that!
Sublime. As far as I know, Graham Nash and Dick Parry are still around, as well as David of course.
There's a behind the scenes for this concert / tour too on the DVD but it's on TH-cam too. Deffo worth checking out.
"Threathened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light"
That`s a bar
It's a sad song that always brings a tear to my eyes.
It would be REALLY worth it to get the blu-ray of this concert. My parents bought it when it came out, and I watched it growing up many times. It's right next to Pulse as the best concert I've ever seen on tv. Trust me the whole thing is just amazing.
Remember That Night is extraordinarily classy!
To Know Him Is To Love Him

❤️ So glad you enjoyed it, Lee!
Thank you! 🙂
I saw these shows at the RAH back in 2006, all three nights, I have tickets for his October shows at the RAH this Autumn, can't wait.
Crosby and Nash also sang with David same concert On a Island must hear

That's awesome news!!!
Beautiful song .. totally enjoyed it
Tone+Technique +Talent =Dave Gilmour
Wow!
CAN THIS MAN PLAY? HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a fucking cool cooporation from David Crosby and Graham Nash with David Gilmoure this very - very cool song from Pink Floyd ! Thanks for sharing and all thumbs up fom hamburg/germany 👍👍👍
Dick Parry on Sax, he played on Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Hear.
Gilmour's first two solo albums are great.
When Wricks Keys come in at 4:49 Gives me chills ...

Check out On An Island live from remember that night. It's an amazing concert !
Richard Wrights organ behind the solo before the drums etc was eerie. Unfortunately he does look well on this. RIP you genius Richard.
Jon Carin still on keyboards here behind Rick Wright, I think he's been playing keys for Floyd from the late 80s if I'm not mistaken.
You think it makes you sad! I'm their age and have watched them leave us one by one. Luckily, their music will remain forever.
Whole concert is good. I’m a bit bored of this song these days but the Gilmour solo stuff - ❤. Try “Take a Breath” 😊
This song and Comfortably Numb with all the reactors getting old taking a break from these
@@jeffreywolff329 Yeah, bound to happen. Saturation.
Into the blue was so good. I'll have to check out more of his solo stuff.
@@L33Reacts The title track from his last album, “Rattle That Lock,” live at Pompeii, is brilliant - five decades after the other Live at Pompeii ❤️
Do they still make bands like this? ❤ Thank you!
Those fender lace sensors

You need to listen from a recliner
The album and pulse concept versions are better than this.
... and again.... why react to the epic original version when there is a terrible granny version....
