      @@Donnythelatemodeltech I got the BC Racing BR series (non extreme low) with upgraded swift springs 16k front/14k rear. Upgraded the springs because I wanted something slightly stiffer since I do plan to do light autocross with my car in the future. With the damping on max soft the car feels nice to daily, I'd say slightly stiffer than stock. I cranked the damping to max hard and it was definitely a different ride, car feels tighter and stiff, kinda bouncy due to the crappy roads where I live. I'd say the BC's are a good bang for your buck, they are rebuildable too. What coilovers were you planning on getting?

      Note he went with a deep dish wheel. There are 50mm and 75mm aftermarket spacers available to get ergonomics back to "driver" mode for any wheel - especially those that have shallow or zero dish. You might not care about a difference around town, but cross country is another story.

  • @flinch622
    @flinch622 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe the IS300 specs also work for early Tacomas? [95-97]. Thank you for posting. As I understand airbag evolution, The designs begun in the 80's were over the top: a little too much volume and rate of inflation was really fast to compensate-airbag injuries did occur. 90's improved somewhat, but inflation rate still a little too much. Near '98, supplementary bags [side curtain] were in the works but not widely available - further reductions of inflation rate began. As I see it, any pre-98 vehicle is a good candidate for an aftermarket wheel, the number one reason being... get your driver ergonomics back! Horizontal distance from pedals to steering wheel in airbag cars is too short: they did it not to accomodate 4' 1" drivers, but to make leg position uncomfortable enough that you would put the seat rearward, which added room between driver and bag. The cockpit geometry itself is proof that manufactureres knew airbags were causing injuries, and extra space would reduce liabilities. OEM's aren't bad guys for doing this, but rather their engineers had to find a workaround to imbeciles in congress trying to design cars. Remember... prior to airbags cushioning stats, CAFE standards initially caused about 5,000 extra motorist deaths each year. Your dealer called this removal of steel mass a "crumple zone" - some worked, some were just underbuilt cars.

    I see what you did with the horn yet I dont understand how doing that makes it work. Because if that bracket is all the time touching that hub then why isnt the horn always going off?? It makes no sense to me.
