  • Should you try harder to "think positive" if you're trying to get pregnant, you're navigating pregnancy or you're facing any other stressful situations? As a psychologist who has worked a lot with anxiety and depression, I have my reservations about the "Think positive thoughts" messages we so often hear.
I'll be breaking down what I see as the pitfalls of intentional positive thinking and I'll share what I do recommend.
For those who would like an intensive introduction to my mindfulness-oriented approach to wellbeing, check out my upcoming 7-Day TTC Chill Out Retreat, which tracks for fertility, pregnancy and general wellness.

Positive thinking has gotten nowhere but heartaches and disappointments. Rebuilding your positive mindset again and perspective again is extremely discouraging

I’m sorry you’ve had a difficult time, Brenda. This is where I find the mindfulness approach to be so helpful…creating openness and acceptance toward what is blossoming in our lives…and being less attached to a particular outcome or pathway. You might find my wellness retreat to be nourishing.
