Greek Alphabet Song

- A song I made to help me remember the Greek alphabet a very long time ago when I was Pledging Chi Phi. It's a little over 2 minutes long and it's pretty repetitive so that helped. It's basically of a parody of Daft Punk's "Technologic," but I used the Greek alphabet as the lyrical inspiration.

People on here learning for class and I'm learning for Greek Life. Life of a pledge
This guy, helping pledges all around the worlddd....
i like how they end with sir just so we remember
y'all saying this is wrong realize this is solely for the purpose of US fraternities
I am Greek. My one year old goes from crying to dancing with this video so i could care less if the pronunciation is not 100%.. KEEP THIS VIDEO UP FOR MY SANITY
Haha, it is my pleasure! My little sister loves it as well, however I have come to dislike it myself.. I do plan to keep it up though. Thank you.
jo tho I am a 63 years old lady, and also tonight, I went from cryint to dance with this video; because I am a
self-taught person trying to learn some Greek, and even the pronunciation is not the correct, I am going to remember the characters of the alphabet... I really like the beat of this sound!
Marina Garcia Solorzano I am half Greek and trust me even though the beat it good, I would not recommend this for people to use as a substitute for the actual pronunciation. It is 100% off
+Marina Garcia Solorzano I am glad you enjoy, I really made it for fun a long time ago. It is meant to be catchy and entertaining. If you are entertained, I am happy :)
I love how greek alphabet letters makes math look so complicated, since its used in all kinds of physics variables.
When you're pledging to a fraternity and you have some sort of membership candidacy period, they will tell you to recite the Greek alphabet at any given time during said period. It's traditional to end with 'sir' after reciting the alphabet (or pledge), to acknowledge their status as someone higher or more experienced in the realm of the fraternity that you're pledging to. Hope this clears up all the sir questions.
I'm currently pledging and this song is saving me .
Wow... this song is actually really helping me to remember the Greek alphabet. Thanks for this video.
this is helping fulfill my pledge so much
i like how there is a sir at the end of it
Anyone read Percy Jackson and Heroes of olympus?
PJO? Yes, HoO? No, I'm waiting till next year
Yes!
I own the Blood of Olympus, not trying to rub it in
I almost own all the books. But I dont want the movies
My fav. one is also battle of labyrinth, in Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus is Mark of Athena, only for the Percabeth.
I learned the Greek alphabet thorugh song as well when I was in 7th grade. It came in handy when pledging my fraternity in college! I was ahead of the game!

Tell me if this helped you pronounce the letters or not in the comments I'll make a Greek version too :D
This is actually very helpful for those trying to learn the correct pronunciation. Thank you for posting :)
I'm greek...and I can say that's hilarious!
I know! It annoys my mum how badly people who speak english/american pronounce greek words and letters
I'm laughing too hard at this
Damn Pledges
This is the pronunciation for the American Greek system. I think that's the point of this video, not for people who actually want to learn the Greek language 🙈😂 Most people who rush sororities and fraternities in the US have to know this.
So much thanks for upload this song on youtube!
I've watched this about 10 times and pretty much know it by heart.
Great, now I've got it stuck in my head!
This sounds like Technologic by Daft Punk and I love it!
When I joined my fraternity this and are creed was a nightmare to remember
You are increadably talented, eve if their not all pronounced right. I love the techno beat.
Who cares if the pronunciations are wrong. It is just a plain cool song! I'm studying Greek slowly so this helps a lot.
I'm Trying to learn Greek and this is pretty cool.
Love the beat
I love this video. Most of the pronunciations are like the ones professors use. It's too bad the small letters weren't included--we need to know those too.
Thanks for the lead. I really have been through this before, so... I think I'll trod the same old ground as I did at Michigan.
I tend to call these digraphs.
I MEMORIZED THE WHOLE GREEK ALPHABET BY LISTENING TO THIS SONG!
!!! I'LL SHOW IT OFF NEXT TIME I GO TO TO GREECE
We watched this in class and everyone was laughing this is the best thing ever! And Andrew Rodriguez: +SPARTAN PRIDE :3

This is amazing! Thank you kind sir!
Dude, that's a hell of a materpiece you made here. Please do not delete it, even if it's wrong. Should be saved as a part of mankind's cultural heritage.
When I watched your video, it got stuck in my head and now I am about the only one in my neighborhood and of all my friends who can say the greek alphbet, thanks a million! ;-)
Thank you, this helped me so much!

this song helps me learn so much better
This video's pronunciation of the letters are the ancient ones, and not said the way they are pronounced now, in modern times. This video helped me a lot, so thank you.
LMAO WHO ELSE ON LINE AND GOTTA LEARN THIS SHIT!!!???
You can tell this man was on line from the sir! At the end! Lol!
I thought this was a really helpful tool for learning the Greek alphabet... I am currently trying to learn the capitals of the USA, so I was wondering if you could come up with a little song like this for the states?
Thanks so much for a great song! ;)
This song helps alot for pledging. Helped me and my friend.
THIS IS TOTAL AWESOMENESS!!!! AWESOME!!!!
Guys, chill, it helps! I learn how the letters follow each other, I know I must pronounce this in a more "ancient" way :D
that sir just gets me everytime lol
THIS IS AMAZING!!
Oooo it's that time of year again. Delta Chi, Damn Proud
I love this song! 😄😄😄
Is the beat of the song from Technologic by Daft Punk?
Love this song
I taught my nephew this song. He was bobbing his head the whole time! :)
This is dope! I'm just learning Greek for the heck of it (shrugs) 😅
And all you ppl trippin on pronunciation chill... 1hr into my research, and I knew it was off... I can fix that later. lol... chill...
From the time I commented, to now, about 45mins. I learned the Greek alphabet. thank you sir. you are too kind....
I think I'm going to have to make my own alphabet video. Two million hits and the pronunciation isn't even right? Gadzeeks!
The video serves to help people memorize the Alphabet. The video-maker apologized for the mispronunciation. Mispronunciation of language/ alphabets is very common anyways. I was born in the South-East of the U.S. and I pronounce some words quite differently than people elsewhere. I know how to spell, so what is the issue? And, where is your video, Sir? I would watch a correct pronunciation video if it was this catchy ....
How do you even know how to pronounce it while nobody knows. o- o
TheDutchgamer4life he mite be that language and that is greek
Hi, for some letters like i is pronounced yiota and not i-yiota. But as a Greek, I got to say nice words cause the total approach was good and I think his intentions even better. Have fun all of you :)
that's reassuring. thank you =)
Katapliktiko....Ematha tin alfavita !!!! Epitelous !!!
haha, it gets stuck in my head every time I play it...
Yup, exactly. It included all the important stuff we should know about our sorority, like it's history, policies, symbols. Stuff like that. It wasn't a big deal, but it's a way to make sure we actually know our sorority and what it stands for and where it came from. :)
One more thing: pompous comes from pompen, then where does bombast come from?
And, do you feel the same about the delta in ancient greek sounding as a "d" rather than use of vt?
thank you this is great!!
where was this when I was pledging ?? grrrrr
Haha, it was on TH-cam ya silly!
What's that "Phi Chi" at the end?
best song that I could find good job
This is amazing.
nice learned the whole alphabet in like ten minutes
u should make a spanish alphabet one. that would help alot of people. The beat is catchy.

Kri Pat Now I don't trust the Internet to give accurate information on the Greek alphabet! Can you explain what each letter sounds like in a word as well as the dipthongs (Or however you spell it :P), please! I'm trying to learn greek, but sometimes it can be so hard! ;-;
Venomia No actually the pronounciation of bita can be described as veeta and wherever you have put d it is pronounced better as 'th' in 'the' ;)
Maria D. Ts. Καλό δεν το ειχα σκεφτει ετσι.. Δεν γραφω συχνα greeklish οποτε καταλαβαινεις :Ρ

We have to listen to this daily in social studies so we can learn the Greek alphabet. One day we actually had to march around the room to this -_-
All the Greek people have to understand that the pronunciations of these letters as demonstrated in this song are the classic pronunciations of Koine Greek, which was the vernacular of the Roman Empire throughout the Hellenistic period. The pronunciations are therefore correct for those learning Greek in an academic setting where the literature is most commonly from the Hellenistic era.
I love your song
thanks for sharing this song 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓 I am learning a lot more!
