The trick is to use your love for the story to research the real history that influenced it. Westeros is flooded with comparisons and/or references to our real world history.
I really hope that House of the Dragon continues on, in a way, after the Dance of Dragons to expand on the rest of the the Targaryen rule of Westeros, particularly covering the the most important of the Blackfyre Rebellions, such as the first and last, and perhaps even Robert’s Rebellion where we can get a full scope of the conflict that brought down the rule of Dragons through a Mad King and a Prophesy-obsessed Prince.
house of the dragon will only be 4 seasons, but they plan on continuing to expand the universe and are making many more shows, so there's hope we can get shows covering those events at some point!
The new A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms show will probably show the First Blackfyre rebellion through either Arlan's flashbacks telling his deeds to Dunk and probably from some other veterans too like Baelor and Maekar.
@@gorlithia nah I don't think they will wasted like that I am pretty sure they will make a seperated spin off about Aegon the unworthy and the first blackfyre rebellion
@@RAMI-m4w if you think about it, the machinations of the First Blackfyre Rebellion is short and will only be as long as one season. Then the next, we watch Daemon getting trained by Fireball until the rebellion. Seems pretty boring and dragged out for one battle sequence.
I just realized how similar the Young Wolf and the Young Dragon are, both leading their kingdoms to their greatest proportions (Riverlands in one case and Dorne in the other), both relatively good generals... and being defeated by deception under the guise of some form of negotiation😢
i really wanted to discuss it here but didn't have enough room for it. i am considering making a part 2 and i definitely will discuss it there if i do!
Baelor did not seek peace with a marriage alliance, he just apologized and walked the Dornish captives back to Dorne. Baelor's nephew Daeron is the one who achieved unification with Dorne through marriage.
Amazing video, would love to see a part two with things like the iron born invasions into the river land, the sacking of high garden by the dornish, and ofc the war of the nine penny kings.

Other than GoT main (Jon-Dany-Tyrion) and side characters (Tywin-Oberyn-Hound) and HoTD’s Daemon-Aemond-Cregan…There are great many figures that shaped this universe. Such as Aegon-Rhaenys-Visenya, Bloodraven and Seastar, Nymeria, Maegor, Bran the Builder, Arthur and Ashara Dayne, Dunk and Egg. Also, Every Important Location video with Old Valyrian to Asshai, from The Lands of Always Winter to Ulthos would be great. Another one could be Every Major Event In Asoiaf. From Westeros-Essos-Sothoryos being Europe-Asia-Africa, To Red Wedding being Black Dinner, HotD being Anarchy, Stygai being in Shadows in the Moonlight, Dorne being Dune, Stannis being Tiberus Caesar, Jon being Aragorn, Prince That Was Promised being Dune’s Paul, Most of edge of the world having Lovecraft horror lore, Ned’s Death being Gandalf’s death, King in the North being Lisan Al Gaib, Targaryens being Elric of Melnibone, Aegon I being William the Conqueror, Old Valyria being Rome and Rhoynar is Carthage, Dothraki being Turks or Mongols, GoT Plot being War of the Roses… Please do especially the last one.
As another person stated, the Targaryens definitely seem to be a mix of Roman, Greek, and Norman influences. I always liken Valyria to the Classical Era and Late Antiquity as a whole, rather than just the Imperial Romans.
This is a great video. My favorite part of the books was when George Martin said “It’s writing time!!” and finished the books (he took his tv show money and ran)
We don't know that yet. Martin said he had to reveal certain elements for the sake of the show. Although we still don't know where they came from in the books, it may very well still be a spell gone awry.
I actually don't believe it was the first men who originally fought the children. It was the Great Empire of the Dawn. They came to Westeros with their dragons (as evidenced by the battle isle at Oldstone being built out of fused stone) and began cutting down weirwoods. To help continue to grow their empire. A lot of the earlier history is meant to be speculative, as the Long Night would have been a cultural bottleneck for information. It also doesn't make sense that the Children would commit the Hammer of the Waters attack after the First Men had already crossed the Arm of Dorne as it would have just sealed them in with their enemy. I believe the First Men actually fought with the Children to get rid of the Empire of the Dawn and their Dragons.
The Dornish conquest just makes no sense. How is it possible that 1. Daeron would be more successful in taking key positions than Aegon, who had all the largest and most powerful dragons in Targaryen history and 2. That Dorne would fight so hard and lose so much against two invasions only to agree to a marriage alliance that sees them submit to Targaryen rule anyway????
TFW a video like this would never be possible for every war of Elden Ring because miyazaki would rather CIA black out 80% of the story so you have to make it up yourself :(((
I know I’m a minority here, but I’d love to see a show about the Greyjoy rebellion. Seeing Stannis and (book) Euron at their prime would be sooo fun to watch 😭
It doesn’t make sense that Azor Ahai fought against the White Walkers in Westeros. More likely, the Long Night was a Global Event, and Azor Ahai fought either them or some entity like them far to the East in Asshai.
Imagine if Valyria would have left before the doom and invaded Westeros Westeros would stand 0 chance of if Valyria tried to Invade Westeros Early on with Higher and Stronger houses of Valyria dang just like an ,,What if´´ show
