I saw that fantastic get together at Davids having a good time, an meeting Popz. Popz says it is spelled with a z. Popz was just as i imangined him. Except for all the tattoos. I didn't know he had all them. But thats ok. Not judgeing or anything. He is a very sweet soul. I love watching all of these home steading channels. You all are so nice. You all give me company. An sometimes a few laughs .

I feel so bad for the work rut you are in. As a senior, I live paycheck to paycheck, so I know how hopeless it can seem at times. I guess it will turn around as spring approaches and the chick business picks up. I hope you can get ahead then to the point its just You Tube & chickens.

I once spend 11 months on a work regime of 12 -14 hour days. My company got sold out to some corporate deal. Lots of corporate b.s. to deal with. It was horrible. Ruined my marriage. One day to relax was not enough. I would start my day with a big smile on my face hoping it would transcend to my day. I survived. But was a lot older after.
My boys mama layed a very light brown egg and bred him with a cream egg layer there girl lays a tan egg.
I loved the music as I parted out the meat chicks I raised. Is that ironic. Lol
Eight flocks then you’ve got us (Crazy Cluckers) beat! We have four plus a couple cockerel pens. Then there’s the geese …lol! Glad to see you’re expanding and building your business! Thought for a minute that was a “poop chair”, then realized it was grumpy laying on the chair. Lol!

Try living in NY on long island its very crazy!!!!!! We are on the brink of a racial war up here, My way of life was stolen and me put on the back burner. I stick to myself and my chickens and hope to god one day I can afford to escape this place, love what you're doing! hope my view helps.
why not let the hens raise thieir young and maybe sell some of your older chickens to someone just starting out? That way they won't have to wait till chickens are older to have eggs. They could buy your chicken that raises the young that way they have young and old of it all to get started? Make like a package deal for someone .
If you leave eggs out overnight snakes get the eggs and you get zero babies. My breeder hens are worth $300 each and they are not for sale because I need them for future baby chicks.
@@BobbleheadHomestead where is that figure coming from...as I know breeders that have done this for years in a more productive almost commercial type farm and that figure is too high for a small hobby farm as yours is
Its called opportunity cost. If I sell the hen for whatever price, I can't hatch and sell her future eggs and lose out on $300 in revenue over a breeding season. She's worth at least $300 to me, but not worth that much to somebody buying her. That's why you only rarely see breeders selling their breeder hens, they can't make any money doing that.
