Deep in the heart of Texas is another song originally recorded by Perry Como I love how Home Free will add a little bit of another song to the song they are singing. Whether it be the lyrics or the melodies.
lol! You were doing a pretty good job of singing one of my favorite Chance lead songs, Some Girls Do! Thanks! lol. I go watch it all the time! This one is such a great arrangement. And when they sing it at the live shows, wow, the crowd really gets into it! Glad you did it right now. Needed something upbeat tonight! Take care and keep them coming!
When it shows the group of people in the green shirts, Tim's mom is the lady with the dark short hair... His sister is the one with dark hair and pony tail.. I love that the guys could help the town and so many people...
Qofy, you are so precise with reactions pointing out the small details. I hope that when Home Free gets back to Europe that you will be able to see them.
Yep, you did it again! You pointed out a couple of things I missed: the quick harmonica sound and a couple of other details. This one was upbeat, which Texas needed something to pick up their spirits! Even Darren was getting into it on the video towards the end! This one is so good! We Home Fries were very happy to contribute. I’m in Louisiana, which had a few parishes (we don’t call them counties here) that flooded the previous year. We are one of fortunate ones that didn’t flood, but had loved ones that did. Many came together and helped out, like the Texans did! Loved your reaction, Qofy! You always make it so enjoyable!
YOUR RIGHT! ! …. The vibe doesn’t reflect the disaster, … IT’S NOT MENT TO !!! The song was intended to be enjoyable, to sell, and raise money for Texas and its relief ! As usual, Home Free hits the mark in every way.
Shout-out to Naia! Home Free always gives us the unexpected but we can count on amazing music every single time. This song is on my daily playlist. I've been through a flood or two but never as bad as the ones in Texas. One thing I can say about Home Free is that their hearts are bigger than Texas!! In my opinion.
@@rosedouglas9586 yep it's at halftime as it's 8:18pm and the Los Angeles Rams are ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals 13-10...so it's still anyone's game. I'm here at my neighbors house at their football watch party...about 15 folks here, all vaccinated & booster shots. Such good food too...Arroz con Pollo, Cuban style (Chicken & yellow (saffron) rice, plantains, yucca & caramel flan for dessert !
Great reaction! As usual you can point out details that I’ve never paid attention to before. You impress me time after time with how quick you can pick up something from a song a replicate the sound that you want to point at. I also liked how you found that similar thing with Some Girls Do. I was blessed to experience God Bless Texas live here in Europe. Can’t remember in which city that was though but we were quite surprised that they did it here but we all loved it! It has such a nice vibe and strong message and the hurricane became more real to us being so far away. Thank you for doing this! 🌟
I live in Lubbock Tx. We are closer to Canada than Beaumont. We sent trucks with supplies to the gulf coast. I had a friend that loaded up his smoker and food. He sent a week feeding people. In one of the hardest hit small towns. People get through these disasters with a little help from their friends. The Louisiana Navy helped rescue folks. The list goes on and on of people who help the Gulf Coast.
We Texans do come together. My Jeep Club from up around Dallas to a 75 Jeep Convoy +13 pickups with trailers loaded down with food, clothes, toilet paper etc down to Houston right after this hit. What we brought was just a drop in the bucket. And it is not just Texans. There were people from all over the country springing into action to help.
Such a good and noble thing. It’s a good song that the boys promoted to raise money for the cause. I think Austin may have done that twangy thing. He did a similar thing in the Boondocks mashup. He can also do harmonica too. I think the last note was Tim. This was so good and I loved the video. Resilient bunch of people. God bless Texas! God bless you too QOFY. Hope you had a good Valentine’s Day. 🥰😍
So glad you liked it ! I agree with you, it’s very uplifting and inspiring 😊 And as usual, I’ve heard this thousands of times, but I never heard the high sound during Adam´s beatboxing part, thanks for pointing it out 😉
Qofy, it's really cool when you let loose in a song like you do here. It's great that you are still finding Home Free songs that you have not previously reacted to and that you get so much pleaseure from an old one like this. Stay chilled and see you next time. Cheers!
Texas is as independent a state as you'll find -- we here think why would anyone live any place else? My mom retired to here: she had bumper sticker that said "I wasn't born here, but I got here as fast as I could". So now I'm a transplant too 🙃
A large portion of Texas was underwater all along the cost it was bad. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't get flooded. I know people who a still working on rebuilding their homes. When this stuff happens, you will see people helping people everywhere. God Bless Texas. Enjoy
Chance is doing that ber-ner-ner-ner-nert sound and Tim was doing the bass. God Bless Texas and Some Girls Do came out around the same time. I feel like that is why they sound similar.
I was working at a convenience store in San Antonio when Harvey hit. I also grew up in Central Florida and had experienced a number of hurricanes in my life. Our store flooded, there were gas shortages, so many grocery stores were destroyed people were having trouble finding food. It was amazing how people pulled together to help each other,
Austin does that guitar sound sometimes, not sure about this one though. 🤔 I am sooooo glad you did this one! Half of my family is in San Antonio, so I've always been a fan of Texas & this song. I LOVE Chance's bass & "do do do do do..." in it! ❤️ & I love Tim throwing that Texas song part in.... and Adam was insane & his whip sounds! 🥰
Harvey was tough to get through. My house is raised up just enough to be lucky not to have water in it. As always people are out helping the second the rain stops. We were so thankful to the ones from out of state. We do the same for other states. No matter what when needed people are there.
I live an hour away from where this hurricane touched down. This was one of the worst. I have experienced many hurricanes myself. Every time, EVERY TIME, the victims and the surrounding states come together in incredible ways to help each other survive, recover and rebuild. God did bless Texas and the entire Gulf Coast. ❤️❤️
This song is exactly the vibe I'd expect from Texans in response to something like this. My mom lives in the Beaumont area (luckily didn't have much damage to her home), my aunt lost her house, two of my cousins had extensive damage to their homes. Everything is rebuilt now but it took more than two years for one of my cousins to get all of the repairs made to her home and many parts of that area still aren't rebuilt from what I understand. It was really bad. Seeing everyone pull together in the aftermath was amazing though.
This is a American response to natural disasters. Wherever and whenever something happens, most Americans will donate what they can through a nonprofit organization.
It was a horrible disaster Qofy....Harvey was a minimal strength hurricane at only 80mph winds but the atmosphere combined to stall out the storm for 4 days over the greater Houston & SE Texas area. In that time nearly 70 inches (178 cm) of rain fell as the hurricane weakened over land but all that tropical moisture had to go somewhere....the flooding was tragic, deadly & historically catastrophic. It took all 4 years for some places to recover...the pandemic hurt just people who thought the worst was over & it delayed the recovery for about a year.
You should check out the live version of 9 to 5 and you will understand how you hear so many sounds make sure it is the live version the beatboxing will blow your mind
QoFy I love your reactions but on this one are you even looking at the video when the guys aren't in it LOL? They're showing actual news and other video footage of how devastating that hurricane was and how everyone came together to help each other and how people made the best of a terrible situation. People from other states brought boats to help evacuate.
I am a proud Texas Home Fry. One of the beautiful things about this state is that people of all kinds step up and help when there is a disaster. Unfortunately, hurricanes are a common problem along the Gulf Coast. Harvey was a devastating storm that set the record for the wettest tropical storm in U.S. History and tied with Hurricane Katrina for the costliest storm with $125 billion in damages.

As a Texan those claps are ingrained from childhood. The stars at night are big and bright 👏👏👏👏 deep in the heart of Texas.
Yes excuse me as I clap like a trained seal whenever the song is on

Ty Qofy for your Home Free reactions!! I'm a die hard Home Fry!
So glad you found this one, QoFY! We always look forward to your reactions to these fellows. 🙂
They are some kind of special.
Tim's mother and sister helped with the relief work. Always enjoy your reactions to these guys.

It was Chance covering the non-lyrical bass and Tim doing the lyrical bass on this. The end bass was Tim.

Originally sung by the group Little Texas
Definitely Tim at the end

Hurricanes and Tornados do so much damage. You just grab a deep breath and go back when allowed and start seeing what's savable and what's trash.
