      @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Turns out we also need to replace the eletrical motor. All the agitators, transmission shaft and couplings are fine. Even manually turning the motor shaft will make the whole thing move. Any idea if its better buying the 200 new motor or going on a hunt for a used part ?

    Disclaimer: Great video and thanks for posting, however I would urge anybody about to do this to check and or research the lid switch first. This model is super easy to replace and in many cases the old one can be repaired simply with a zip tie. Maybe I’m hard headed, but after watching this video, I was convinced the drain pump was my problem. After literally hours of working on this, took apart put back together 5 times, countless trips emptying the shop vac, stressing over buying a new washer it never occurred to me it could be the lid switch because it spun just fine. I finally just decided to check it and voila, it drained. This video did however cause me to give my washer a much needed cleaning and my drain pump was full of lint and nasty black water and I’m really good at taking it apart now( not as easy as he’d lead you to believe if you’re not a repairman). I just don’t want anyone to have the same experience that I did.

    • @colton5bucks

      I pulled mine all a part and there was no clog. Maybe mine is the hood switch as well. What did you do to fix yours?

    • @timpowers3455
      @timpowers3455 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@colton5bucks I ended up replacing the lid switch. I think it was under 20$ on Amazon. A good test is to fill your washer, squeeze the lid switch together and push the button and see if it drains. Those things are just glued together and eventually going to fail. Sometimes a couple of zip ties tight around the old lid switch will fix the problem. I would not describe myself as very handy and it was pretty easy for me to replace. Lots of good videos on you tube about it. You can probably find your exact model on here.

  • @donlance9574
    @donlance9574 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Had the exact same symptoms so I thought we may have had something stuck in the pump but it turned out to be a broken wire leading to the starting capacitor (broke at the connector). Probably caused by an off-balance load during the spin cycle making the wire move back and forth . Easy fix either way.

    So mine doesn’t hum. It doesn’t do anything on spin. I tried the zip tie trick on the switch and still nothing. Could it just be a bad switch? Tub won’t drain or spin.

    I have a whirlpool washing machine that drains but it doesn’t drain all the water out and the clothes get heavy and when it starts to spin it sounds like a helicopter trying to takeoff and I almost walked out of the closet what do you think the problem is

    Seems easy for someone professional, for someone who's not good on fixing things there are a lot of room for mistakes 😂

      @@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance I tried to fix a camera a few years ago, unscrewed many screws, got tge screws mixed up and made things worst lol. This has a lot of steps I might even make the washing machine stop draining 😂. I wish you can just pour Draino in it

    Didn't find anthing in the discharge pump and everything was turning easily. Would top at the spin cycle, humm a bit then turn off. What could the problem be?

    My washer drains all the water but my clothes remain wet. Could it still be a clogged pump?

    • @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance
      @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Might be a worn out clutch which is preventing your washer from spinning fast enough or a broken motor coupler which doesn’t allow it to spin but does allow it to drain.

      The motor coupler is only 10.00. If you set it for spin and then open the lid after 1 minute, do you see it spinning at all?
