I just love it when you shop there!! The shop always has some very lovely items!! Excellent price's.. I saw a few things I'd have to purchase before I left! Always a favorite the chinoiserie!! I spotted what I think was a rabbit casserole or something on top shelf but you didn't get to that part. I wish I was alot closer.. I was in Houston once. Very nice area. Thanks for taking me along today. Love your special finds!!
I must have gone to MAM the same day or shortly after because I purchased some of the items in this video. Definitely one of my favorites thrift stores. I bought one of the large blue and white vases that was on the top shelf behind the elephant and the large chinoiserie planter. A couple people were following me around hoping I’d put it back. At $175 it was still a much better price than the usual $500 at antique shops. An unusual piece. Thanks for sharing your expertise and taking us along all these great places to shop in the Houston area. ❤
You are incredibly knowledgeable about so many beautiful items. I’m currently binge-watching all your previous videos. Soaking in all your goodness. Thank you for taking so much time to impart your knowledge. Admiring you from Canada!🇨🇦🇺🇸
Howdy from Texas! Great to hear from you in Canada. Thanks for watching previous videos. Headed back to Germany in November for an early Christmas. Thinking of sharing a home for the holidays decor segment.
Amazing store! So much would have come home with me. I truly need to shop in Texas! Kudos to your videographer, they do a great job, slow and steady. Thanks for the tour.
Everything you showed I loved I would of came out with so much more LOL ( I have to tell you this I went to a yard sale yesterday and a lady said she had a ugly ornament some one gave her). She had it still in the box, my heart was pounding it was The Sea horse from Waterfords Collection The wonderful thing was I got it for 2 dollars ! Loved this episode.
This is Grandma from Texas. You know the silver plated cake plates make beautiful chargers. You wouldn’t want one with handles or feet. On a Christmas table it is stunning. It doesn’t matter if they match. The beautiful crystal cake plates are lovely as well for the same purpose. I have mixed glass and silver on my table and it is very nice. As you say “elevated”. Thank you for all your great content. I look forward to your videos. I actually bought an item you showcased. It was a fireplace mantle with mirror for $140.00. Since I live in the greater Houston area I can make it to stores you visit so thank you for that too. I’m a senior citizen on a fixed income and purchase all my gifts on secondary market. It is nice to be able to give quality gifts that I can fit in my budget.
@@TexasGrandmawhollythrift Delighted to hear of your thrifted mantle find! Glad you are finding great gifts in Houston area resale shops. We are fortunate to live in the #1 city in Texas for thrifting!
Thank you, Lady Mary Beth, for your wonderful videos. I enjoy everyone immensely. Your helpful tips for different uses of glassware, silver plate, and gift giving are much appreciated.
I accidentally found your channel and was so surprised to find you at MAM, one of my favorite places in Houston to shop for thrifted items. The boutique has great items of clothes and jewelry and in the regular clothes section also has great things. As an artist, I have found many wonderful items for my assemblage sculpture. This was such a treat to watch and I love how knowledgeable you are about so many things. You have such a pleasant way of describing things and I enjoyed your video. Thank you.
I recognized immediately the Spode Trapnell teacup! I acquired a complete service of that china recently and it is not easy to find. Stunningly beautiful and looks like it was never used.
Those cups & saucers you found before checking out I would have bought: the spode & the cobalt one; So lovely. I so enjoy your tour of treasures to delight the eye.
You're spoiling us with great stores, great finds, great information! Honestly... so much so that I no longer watch any other thrifter's channel's I'd rather look at high end items then nik naks I've seen plenty of those through the years your special finds are far more interesting. Thank you
Such fun recognizing MAM as a place we visited. Loved the candle holders, and of course the Waterford cordial glasses. Thanks for the tip about the sterling silver. Can’t wait for the next one!
What a wonderful resale store, there were so many things I wanted. Unfortunately I don't live near a great resale or antique store as I had in Atlanta, Dallas and Denver in the past. I have found some great finds in my local goodwill, on Friday I found a solid brass buffet lamp for $6.99 and after a very good cleaning and new light socket it is really a lovely piece in my dining room butler server. Hope you have a blessed week, can't wait until next time.
We do not have thrift stores in England like you show us in America......beautiful stuff. If I win the lottery I will come over and rummage to my hearts content........... Some of our charity shops are greedy with their prices and sometimes the same item can be bought elsewhere, full price and new 😮 Antigue stores are out of my range as much as I love them. Thank you for your videos I love them.😊😅❤❤❤❤
No , sorry I do not shop the London markets. So wish that I could help you as you have helped me through some tough times with your interesting videos. You are such a lady, with loads of knowledge and a wonderfully soothing voice. I love the German thrift stores too. My agrandmother was German from Hamburg. Listening to you has made me want to visit the Germany more than ever. Thank you Lady Mary Beth, you bring joy to lots of people which must be jolly hard work, with joy thrown in........🙂❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello LMBeth, I looked up some places of interest for wedgewood. I know you are knowledgeful and probably been on line, but the suggestions that I found were the, LONDON SILVER VAULTS, CAMBDEN PASSAGE ANTIQUE MARKET, PORTOBELLO ROAD MARKET, on line were PRELOVED, and WEDGEWOOD and ROYAL DOULTON OUTLET store. I do not have a working computer, but use a small Galaxy tablet, not so easy to look things up like I used to......I sincerely hope you enjoy your holiday here and manage to find what you are looking for. Bless you Lady Mary. Maureen xxxxx
Thank you so much for the tour of MAM Resale! The information you share is amazing (priceless). I may just have to do a road trip from Wharton. WooHoo!!
I always enjoy your videos. Maybe that painted piece of furniture you said was from the late 80s was dated 90. With the larger 9 and small 0 and the swoosh of her signature , made it look like 99. That's what I thought. Love it anyway!
I recently purchased a cut glass wine decanter for $5.00 from a thrift store and wondered if you had any suggestions for "sterilizing" it? Had you thought about doing a video on the care of glass and crystal items? Loved the MAM video. They always have gorgeous items at good prices!
I agree with you on that. So far, I have been able to remove prices rather easily. The only exception is when they write directly on the Vera Bradley fabric. Have to pass on those deals.
I'm 70 years old and I am giving my collected stuff away. They feels like nuisance and not so important. Times and thinking changes when you get older.
Please don't say, It's a steal"... Apparently you received theowners permission to advertise what they have....they will love the attention this brings to their store (which is fine) but because of what you said on the pricing....they will learn to up their prices....then making it unaffordable for those of us who might have had a chance to purchase something nice😢❤
Wish we had one MAM in east Texas
Of all the venues you visit, MAM is one of my favourites
Glad to hear that MAM is a favorite. ❤️

Not far at all for you. Start early and spend the day in Houston.
Yes MAM🎃
Love your crystal basket, I wish we had stores like Mam in New Zealand, I would spend hours browsing and purchasing wonderful items.
Hope you can shop these stores in Houston someday. Are there op shops in New Zealand?
Yes, but not the size of your amazing op shops. Our population is only five and a half million.
Watching now! Looking forward to seeing all the great treasures you find! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Thank you.
I love Vera Bradley and Waterford . I'm now a great fan of chinoiserie.
Glad you are embracing Chinoiserie!

Yes! Christmas tour last year. Also, shared our home in Germany. These are on the channel.
Yay! I will definitely go back and watch. I just started following you a few months ago.
You looked cool and lovely in you blue and white dress today.

@@LadyMaryBeth I'm gonna do it!
Would putting cut lemons on siler tarnish it? Thanks.
I use sterling silver rimmed lemon dishes a lot. No problem, as long as you do not store in these. Mostly sits on the glass.

Hot water and Dawn dish soap is my suggestion for cleaning decanters.
Lots of great buys! Don't like that they use a black marker to price things, it can soak into pottery items and you can't get it out.
I agree with you on that. So far, I have been able to remove prices rather easily. The only exception is when they write directly on the Vera Bradley fabric. Have to pass on those deals.

and now Fiskars owns both Waterford and Rogaska

Yes indeed
daum has all those bubbles inside the glass ...if i saw it i would think its not as valuable.
Looks can be deceiving. You might find for a deal, as others will not realize the value.
