Thank you Andrew for sharing the gift God has given you with the rest of us. Watching you, it's easy to believe watercolour is the easiest medium in the world.
Another excellent painting and demonstration together with the usual useful comments. Thank you Andrew. However, there is another important aspect which seems to go under the carpet, yet adds another dimension to watching the video. And I'm talking about the camera work which switches constantly and follows your every move. Congratulations on that, it makes it so much more pleasant to watch and enjoy. It's like standing in the studio with you. Very few other artists do such demonstrations. Thank you and look forward to more. Also, pleasant to watch a snow scene from the lovely hot days we are experiencing in Melbourne.
Many thanks for your encouraging comments. We are all amateurs when it comes to filming. My wife films with a hand-held camera, but our son does all the hard work. When he started editing the films from all the cameras he quickly realised the best approach was to, as he put it, “follow the brush’’. And this seems the easiest method to help students get maximum benefit from the videos. Thanks for taking the trouble to get in contact. www.andrewpitt.co.uk
Thank you so much for your wonderful demonstration. I painted along with you and little by little a nice painting emerged on my paper. It's amazing how the shadows really make the painting come alive.
This is a fantastic video. I love how you explain the do’s and don’ts of watercolor as you paint. Absolutely beautiful sky! Thank you so much for sharing with the art community your knowledge and talent.
Thank you Andrew a delight to watch how you paint. So beautiful as always. The way you capture light is second to none. Inspirational, learned so much.
Ty for Sharing your experience and knowledge. I am slowly putting the pieces together in this Puzzle that is Watercolour Painting. As I get Older I am becoming a Visual Learner and in some ways feel even in the World of TH-cam that it is not always the easy way to Learn . Many post Videos and shouldn't, Many post but don't teach or just try and Sell something and then the very few and far between are Artists like yourself that can and do teach and pass on Knowledge freely. I am living on my Small Sailboat on the East Coast of the United States and Watercolour is a Perfect fit on a Boat in countless ways. I am going to explore your Website for any Videos I can Purchase to have on Board. Ty again.
@@AndrewPittArtist I found the Shadows Sky's and Edges Videos. I got #1 and it's great . Will Definitely get the remaining two. I hope you offer more Videos in the future . Ty !!
After discovering your TH-cam channel and watching a few demonstrations, I decided to watch your demos without sound to see weather I could predict the colour mixing and the following steps of brush strokes and found it very stimulating and I am thrilled to have found your contribution through You Tube to people like me who had dreamt to pain from a young age but denied the opportunity. I tried my best to find a metal pallet like yours as the mixed colour beads beautifully in the center to dip the brush in. However, I failed to find any palette with smooth ceramic coating. The ceramic palettes I have stains and paint spread and dry as I mix them. Regret moving away from UK as I find all quality painting materials seem to be exorbitantly priced. Anyhow, regrets aside, thank you ever so much for your contribution. Wish I live in UK and taken some lessons. Thank again for sharing your knowledge. Your book I would love to have but must save up… but am sure it is filled with simple thought provoking ideas… will get them in time… thanks again.
Thank you very much for all your kind comments, they are much appreciated. I’m glad the videos are proving helpful - thank you for letting me know. I wish you well in your painting. www.andrewpitt.co.uk
Wonderful demonstration. I am about to paint a somewhat similar, although snowless, scene. I feel much more confident , especially about painting a large foreground tree. Thank you for this and all your videos.
I’ve been a fan of yours for about 2 yrs. I especially enjoy your marine scenes. But this picture really stands out and I think it’s my favorite so far. Could you let us know what colors you use in each step….. you work so fast ,I have a hard time keeping things straight . Thanks very much
Thanks for your feedback. I’ll do my best to take your suggestions into account next time. As you know, watercolour often dictates the speed I have to work. www.andrewpitt.co.uk
Well, yes, I did enjoy watching this… I could watch you paint all day but alas I must do some necessary things around the house and yard. This painting is beautiful. Is it your house? Or were the owners given the opportunity to purchase your painting?❤
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. The painting is the back of Valley Farm, opposite Flatford Mill (Constable country). No it is not my home. I teach courses at Flatford Mill for the FSC. www.andrewpitt.co.uk

Do you stretch your paper or simply put it under the plexiglass?
No. I never stretch my paper. www.andrewpitt.co.uk
🌟
I notice your paintings are quite large, whereas a beginner I'm more tempted to start small....is larger easier for a beginner?
I always suggest students paint larger than they think they can, say half imperial, 15’’ x 22’’. It’s easier than you think. Good luck.
WHAT IS THE DIMENTION OF THE ORIGINAL PLEASE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO JUDGE THE RESULT WITHOUT KNOWING THIS.
The painting is a half sheet, or half imperial, 15’’ x 22’’. www.andrewpitt.co.uk
