How do you pick up a large slice? You take the hand holding the crust, and push down the middle to form the crust edge into a V (or fold all the way flat together, if need be). This provides structural integrity to the bottom of the slice, allowing it to stand out farther from the crust toward the point. If the point is still too floppy to guide into your mouth, take the other hand and hold up the tip until you can bite down on it.

This is not really a fair comparison. In the us the drink cups are filled literally to the top with large pieces of ice if you see what the actual soda volume is it’s about 1/3 the volume of the cup, so not sure if it’s the same in UK but if not, that’s the reason for the disparity. Also on more than a few items said to be us portions it’s just not accurate. Fries at kfc for example, never have I seen the “large” fries as this video claims also I have never gotten anything like the volume of chicken they say the US gets, they couldn’t get the lid on it. I call BS on most of this.

Exactly! That video is intentionally deceptive in order to make Americans look bad. Nobody orders the amount of food that they do. I have never seen those portions available on the menu. I also love how the US guy makes those over-the-top noises as if it's such a struggle to carry over his drinks. Making Americans look like gluttons seems to be the shtick over at "Food Wars."

I worked at Starbucks here in the US for about 5 years. Baristas are supposed to leave a little room in the (hot) cup for two reasons. 1) The customer can add more ingredients to their drinks. Like adding sugar and cream to a brewed coffee. 2) For safety. Americanos are about 200 degrees (F), and unless otherwise specified, drinks that have milk in them, like lattes, mochas, etc, the barista steams the milk until it reaches 150 degrees (F). Hope this answers your question!

It got out of hand by 2000-2003 and things were scaled back so what you’re seeing is actually less insane that it got to awhile ago

On the trip, I struck up a conversation with an older German businessman at my hotel’s bar. Like everyone else, he also initially thought I was Dutch. I told him I was an American. He said he wouldn’t have guessed that. I asked him why. Without missing a beat and looking serious, he said, “You speak a second language, don’t have any tattoos I can see, and you’re not fat.” Entire societal 🔥. Lol.

Depending on how I’m feeling, I usually get a pepperoni and sausage with extra sauce, or a pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni and extra sauce. I’m not a very adventurous eater most of the time because I hate spending money on something and then end up not liking it because it’s a waste of money and food for me. It’s easier for me to do that in a group setting or if you’re sharing with someone because you can get your go-to order and something new since you’ll be sharing anyways.
