It feels somewhat more like an extension than a standalone assistant but it's still definitely nice to finally have it
Voice activation only worked 1st time.
Works fine but t free voice assistant doesn't week irk all the time. A bit slow at times but works great otherwise.
I cant get it to link up to my phone from my watch - so my experience so far is meh.
A couple of things to consider: Disable the Bixby wake word in Bixby settings, turn it off. Also go into settings and make the Assistant the default. All this clears away Bixby running in the background and other confusions with Wake word activation.

@@waqasrf20 it will not drain any battery of the phone it's just Bluetooth..... I haven't used a GW4 yet but I'm more than 110% sure that bluetooth drains negligible amount of battery from phone so you don't need to worry about it

@@waqasrf20 no there's nothing like that it uses an amoled display of very good quality and if you're concerned just turn it off at the night times as sleeping with always on display will interrupt your sleep due to brightness

Great video as always, but is there anyway to access the Google Assistant Agenda like Wear OS 2.x had? Similar to a phone, while on Watch face you could swipe right and see your daily agenda, weather, traffic delays, and other tidbits. The Galaxy Watch 4 has Notifications in this location, but since G Assistant is an add on I’m not sure it even supports the Assistant Agenda (if I’m even calling it the proper term). I did find this useful on more than a few occasions, especially for things like traffic delays before work or even close to leaving work in case there had been an accident and traffic was re-routed, what my upcoming day is like for meetings and so forth. I know some of these features (like Weather) now exist as tiles, so perhaps Wear OS 3 is just ditching the Google Assistant Agenda (or whatever the right swipe was called in Wear OS 2.x) to a left swipe to the Tiles? As always Thank You!!!! :-)

Another great vid as always but I have a question for you. Do you know if there is a way to get reminders from assistant on watch?Was a problem on older Wear Os watches and now this one. It worked for maybe first hour I installed assistant. I'm back to Bixby till this feature works. If you don't know then it most likely can't be done. 😅

So I have noticed the issue with the Google assist seems to be because the side loaded version I had installed was still on my watch with the new updated version Samsung released and it was actually running with the release version almost battling each other. If you have the previous version on your watch......Uninstall it. Those that had to do hard reset erased that version that's why they experienced no issues afterwards. Just unistall your previous version and reboot.

I haven't seen a difference in battery life. I've always had a watch since they came out for Galaxy and the battery performs just fine.

@@waqasrf20 Yes. Always connected via Bluetooth and I also have the LTE version of the watch. Unusual battery drain is not noticed

I really like GA. I have a problem with my GW4, can you help me out? So my watch disconnected randomly from my phone. I opened up the galaxy wearable app and the whole GW4 page was gone. It looks like my phone (a22 android 11) just forgot about my GW4. Now i need to reconnect it to my phone but then my GW4 says that all the data will be deleted. Is there a way i can fix this without deleting my GW4 data?
No, sadly if you lose the connection and it tells you need to reset, you will have to reset. There was once a way to do it on GW 3, and i used to keep my data and even Samsung Pay activated across phone resets by reusing the same Google ID (and other small tricks), but none of that works on GW 4 sorry. Its a huge bugbear of mine for which i have a ticket in at Samsung, because i often test ROMs and need to flash those, which ends up where you are....theres NO valid reason they should force a reset for general data, i can understand resetting just Google Pay/Samsung Pay data on reset for security, but theyre just asshats making you lose everything...no valid reason for it.... i have been shouty at them for 6 months, and no news

@@waqasrf20 I am a heavy user I use Samsung buds pro most of the day, plus my watch is connected. I check Facebook and emails regularly. My Note 20 ultra with all that will be at 50% after 10 hours.

I have found that Google Routines are not Supported on the watch, also several apps that I use Google Assistant on my phone are reported as not supported on this device.

I bought W4 in Russia which means there was no bixby in it, and now there's no GA appears in the playstore search whatsoever.

go to play store on watch > my apps / installed apps > assistant > update, that worked for me

Mines too. I don't know why but it says that the watch is not connected to Bluetooth, check connection. However, the watch is connected to my cell phone. Tried to start connection via different places on the watch, via the phone but nothing helps. Heard that second factory reset helped but I don't want to do that.

Same with me. My house has 4 of the samsung Watchers. two of them connected perfectly fine the other two would not connect. Factory reset one of them works and connected factory reset the other one.

I can't get GA, i'm in north africa
As soon as I added google assistant to my watch, I lost connection with my watch. Tried everything. Restarted both. Watch said new phone trying to connect. Only option was to reset watch. Lost everything. Still trying to get everything back the ay I had it. Very frustrating. Then this morning I got the UI 4.1 update. Was that part of the problem? Ugh!
Same thing happened to me. I have reset the watch, have One UI 4.1 now, and have reloaded GA on the watch. We'll see how it goes. You'd think they would have had bugs like this fixed before the rollout since it took them so long to do so. My phone is a Note 20 Ultra, BTW.
Same phone. On top of that now I cant get samsung pay to accept credit cards. Still haggling with bank about that. Bc watch saw a NEW phone added. Still same old phone. What a mess.

Its terrible to release it after all the time and with such bugs. GA cannot open apps (instead of Spotify on phone, but it plays random even tho I say what to play). Its also not working/not even there for my language, so I cannot call, navigate, google, etc anything specific since google will never identify what I want...

The watch still sucks the battery and lack of features is why I returned mine. I love Samsung products, Galaxy S8 Plus and S20 Ultra 512gb. I really wanted to like the watch, to gimmicky and lack of features 😕 May pick up the GW5. I only had the wifi version maybe the cellular is better however I read the battery is even worse on cellular model and it overheats and turns off. 🤔

there is little point upgrading to the celluar version unless you plan on leaving your phone behind. Otherwise it's basically the same watch. I keep celluar switched off as where I live the signal isn't great and if I lose connection with my phone watch connects to LTE and over heats. Which is more annoying that being disconnected for a minute or two.
As for features the Galaxy watches have a lot more features that most smart watches. I upgraded from a Fossil Gen 5 (which is a nicer watch from a style point of view).
But if you're going to have the watch it must be the classic, the rotating bezel is a must have.

Anybody getting the same problem i am getting when setting up the Google assistant app. The phone keeps saying connecting to watch .... then I get check to see if your Bluetooth settings are correct and try again. Where app says it is connected.

Woke up this morning to find google assistant already on my watch 4, but when I try to setup on phone it says that your regions language is not supported on your galaxy watch 4

Have Samsung Galaxy S10 with Android 12 installed. After installing Google Assistant, watch 4 unpaired from phone. Had to reset watch to pair with phone. Tried twice. Same issue. Seen threads on the internet with people having the same problem. Samsung needs to provide a fix.

Did you happen to have the earlier "unofficial" Google Assistant installed prior to that? Just wondering if Mike Vaugn's theory (comment above this) and the issue of unpairing also is coupled with people who had GA on their watch already.

the last thing Samsung need to do to fix the watch is let you reprogam the long press for Samsung Pay. Yes you can access google pay else where, but they've effectively made one function useless. It's especially bad as Samsung pay isn't supported everywhere so I can't use it even if i wanted to.
in countries where samsung pay isn't supported that long press doesn't even do anything.
@@poendie835 I can load it up but can't register my bank details with it. If that could be assigned to Google pay, which works perfectly, then the watch would be pretty close to perfect.

Try changing the main language of Google Assistant to English, configure the Assistant on the watch, when the process is complete change the language back to the one you are using. I also struggled with this problem, but the above solution helped (Europe-Poland).
