I'm sure I'm in the minority here but his was my favorite episode of the season. Manny Jacininto is killing it with Qimir and keeps showing us the template for a less cartoony Sith. And Vernestra is much more interesting to me than Yord or the witches. I've been hoping they'd slow down and build character though it was only half interesting. Somehow Sol and Mae's interactions were as cringeworthy as Sol's interactions with Osha. The last few episodes haven't had the best writing for Sol.
this show to me is one of those few instances where it would have been HELPED by an all at once binge release I'm guessing Osha in the sensory deprivation helmet is going to segue into finally revealing the full recounting to the fire incident.
To go full star wars lore nerd for a second, using Palpatine as an example of a Dark side user the Jedi couldn't sense isn't a great example as that is something that's used to speak to Palpatine's power and knowledge of the force. There are many other examples throughout the prequels and original trilogy where force users sense others and their intentions/feelings and presence through the force. I just don't get why we can get something like Andor and then the rest of Lucasfilm disney plus content is so lacking in terms of writing quality.
Yes, Palpatine is an exceptional case. But so are Osha and Mae. They're miraculous birth twins (possibly a dyad) born to a sect of Force witches who have incredible mind powers.
@@digitaljanus not sure I agree that the show has done a good job making us see that Oscha and Mae are particularly force talented. In Ep 2 we see Sol read Mae’s mind fairly easily. There’s also the matter of what’s Mae’s motivation for pretending to be Oscha at this point. There’s so much about this show's writing that doesn’t quite work and just feels half baked. The elephant in the room is also the big forehead tattoo… it’s all very silly
I don’t get the complaints about this episode. For the first 5 episodes there were complaints of no character development. Now we get some build up and the complaints are that it is slow and filler. I sometimes think people need better attention spans. I grew up in the era of network tv with 22 episodes per season. Talk about filler! This is at least gives us information fairly quickly. The only real mystery at this point is what happened during the fire.
Again. Decent to good ideas but bad execution. I do think there's a good/great story but its told poorly which is why it is so frustrating and hard to not get mad... Doesn't help I want from watching Shōgun and Arcane to The Acolyte. Its Night and day differences, from high quality to below average in terms of everything... At least we have Andor season 2. Can't wait!
This is neck and neck with Ep 5 as the best one of the season. Everything else is so poorly written and executed. At least in these episodes SOME unexpected things are happening.
It's a metaphor for how the Jedi are lazy and complacent in the era of unchecked existence. The Sith are lean, mean, always ready because they've had to struggle to survive. Or something.

I wouldnt say it was my favorite, but I did really like it a lot, I don't think you are off base at all. I totally get it.
I keep thinking about how much happened by episode 3 of Andor.
It was so slow. It finally picked up like episode 7 or so, but it was a slog to get through.
@@RomanPhilosopher acolyte is way slower. I still feel like they’re still introducing the story.

Agreed. SO FRUSTRATING...every time Sol trying to explain Brendock.

In this episode we find out Sith have a good six pack, even better cholesterol level, while the Jedis are plus size and a little out of shape. 😆
