- Fabricating a jaw rock crusher from scratch. Making the moving jaw of the crusher with replaceable jaw wear plate. Cutting parts on the homemade CNC plasma table and welding more and more steel and making this project really heavy. :)
What is a jaw rock crusher - a crusher that has jaws and crushes rocks, concrete, bricks etc. and turns it into gravel.

Real nice, as usual with your creations! A suggestion: if you're tight on space for the bearing removal punch in the movable jaw, you could thread the hole and use set-screws for removal.. keep up the good work!
That's a great tip! I'll have to remember it. 🤘
You can minimize the amount of warpage induced into your machined parts from welding by preheating the assembly prior to welding and then keep it hot while welding. The preheat counteracts the natural pull created when welding parts by causing them to expand evenly.

this was an unexpected find. I've bought dozens of crushers for mining projects, while this is small, it's an excellent insight to how they are built. great work.
It's the biggest I can produce at the moment. Maybe I'll make a bigger one in the future if this ends up being too small.

Looking good. I crush rocks for a living. Was always curious about making a small jaw crusher for home use. Can't wait to see the finished product. Curious to see how you will power it and if you will make the pinch point adjustable for different gravel sizes.

If you have a good tool, then you get cool machines.
You sure lay down some beautiful welds. I can't weld worth a crap with wire. I learned with a stick welder but never had to weld sheet metal. Some day I guess I should try. Did stick for a lot of years.

You have that plasma table dialed in really well. I am encouraged that I can get mine running that well. We used the same components, though my Hypertherm is an older model 45. Super interesting project too. I used one like what you are building, and always wondered about building one. ~P
The CNC plasma table is a worthwhile investment. I've never had second thoughts nor any regrets. It's just a tremendous time saver. I wish you all the best with your plasma table project. Now what concerns the rock crusher I started looking into it a year ago and realized that I have a lot of material I can crush and recycle. So now I'm building one. I hope it will be functional in the end. 😁

It is definitely not easy. The video editing makes it look like that when it's snappy enough. Especially when parts get heavier there's alot of physical labor involved and you will be wrecked at the end of the day. 😁

The bearing removal holes are a great idea. However, with a race style bearing like that you don't need them. Just run a bead of weld around the inner surface of the race and it will fall out.
you know Donn, they make these pillow block bearings too you know

Little tip for the plasma table, have it peirce though the material off to the side of the part so you don't get the nasty starting hole in the part
12mm is the max thickness Hypertherm Powermax 45XP will pierce. Anything thicker than that, yes, edge start is the name of the game. 💪👍

Yes I need to watch again to see how the offset to force the jaws to chew up rock , it doesn’t take a lot and depending on Hp . You can make the concentric offset adjustable but it’s harder to keep bolts in place with out some method of keying or dog to take the torque . Great stuff love to see the whole mini portable crusher & screening plant 1/4 scale but completely functional, as all the builds on this channel are very clean & detailed work . Some employer or company made a big mistake not keeping this guy happy and not made him part ownership that’s what you have to do when you see exceptional people that have room to grow . Otherwise they will be opening a shop across the street . Far better to give them shares $$ and build your company than to let them build a better company and lose half of yours . I guess there lucky that TH-cam offered a good thing
