    I got the 6G from Ebay for a whopping $150 with 100% understanding it needed a rebuild, with rebuild and modification with several Beeman P17 and Daisy 717/747&777..... This was at the time OUT of my skill level. So I called Umarex summer of 2022, and they said send it in. Less then 2 weeks and a bill of about $150. I had a very nice Diana Model 6G. Then I got a FWB 65 and 80 and watched Nutune Naughtyboy rebuild and Nebelbrett and now I am comfortable rebuilding them.
    Because of your video I am now 100% willing to dig into any 6G,6M or 10. I wish to THANK YOU for such a finely detailed video that yes, even I can now do this. Medically retired USAF, so I have lots of crayons and coloring books from USAF, VA & SSDI.
    Again thank you and please keep up the terrific content.
    I now have stepped over to the Darkside and got a $600 ebay PCP pistol, Walther LP400 ALU.
    I still give Beeman P17 to new shooters. Super nice to have single shot 177 SSP pellet pistol for $50 to be more consistent accuracy to teach them with. At least they know it was them that caused the pistol to miss and removes the ammo and gun to be the cause for the miss.

      Great instructional video. What was the reason you chose to shim the breech seal instead of tapering the seal itself? Asking for a friend 😁

      I called Umarex USA and verified they could rebuild my 6G Dec 2022. From contact to them. To sending it to them and back to me was 6 to10 days. But do contact their customer service. Sorry I no longer have thier phone number. Good luck

    Thanks very much indeed for this video. It was great to see how to strip and reassemble one of these.
    My first air pistol was an Original Model 5, purchased new in 1974.
    In the early 1990s, I was a member of the AERE Harwell Rifle and Pistol Club. We used four of these Model 6s to run a lunchtime all comers air pistol league at our Harwell site. Our range building was a converted Nissen hut that had been an auxiliary canteen during WW2.
    For our keener members, who shot in national postal air pistol league competitions, we also had a Model 10. It was not very popular, most preferred to buy their own kit, usually either FWB 65s or 80s or FAS 604s.
    I used the Model 10 for a bit, but was not too impressed with it. Having to rotate the barrel weight to shield the foresight when cocking it seemed at bit clumsy compared to the Model 6. Later on, I bought a FWB 100.

    Managed to find an "Original " model 10m in its fitted briefcase for £285 last year after years of looking. Very useful video. Thank you.

    I had a Diana G4 in the 1970s that looked much like this - but with a wooden stock.
    I loved it - it was accurate enough.
    Used it so much, one day I went to reload and it fell apart.
    Didn't repair it - I wish I had.
    Went to Webley Tempest.
    Now I'm is Aus and we can't even have a plastic toy if it even looks like a real gun.
    I think they're going to ban table cutlery next week.

    Excellent. Thank you for this video. I’ve had this exact pistol in my collection for years but needs to be rebuilt. This will be greatly helpful.

    Nice right up, my father had one of these in the mid 1970's unfortunately the tube that holds the springs and pistons split in half at a right angle to the barrel, apparently the tube is made out of two pieces of steel soldered together. I remember the pistol shooting nicely. I also had the Winchester non match version of this pistol in 22 caliber and it did not shoot nearly as well.

    It's interesting, my Diana 5G pistol looks almost identical, probably because there is a strong similarity between them. The Diana 6 has a recoil compensation system.

      After you exposed us to the Geco Model 6 I located my Diana 6G. Love it and the FWB65 and 80 that were purchased by me to compare them. Then ended the arms race with a Walther LP400 ALU, since I do not compete, I figure $600 is plenty expensive for my perfect paper hole puncher... lol Nibs, keep up the great videos. Super content to our airgun community.

      Yes, I caught that the other day. While you shot a better score with Polish pistol, the Geco definitely did the better group, I do believe !!

    Yes it's counter intuitive because it's indeed the other way around: "Rolling" backward gives the piston free.
    When the sear engages the piston, the piston pushes the longer lever end up, against the trigger. When the trigger is pulled it gives free the longer lever, to go up but the shorter backend, where it holds the piston, goes down of course.
    The sear don't engages to the trigger, how it does in the uncocked gun, and snaps down when the trigger is pushed, like you do here 20:58 That's not the way it works !
    Push the sear up without pulling the trigger first, but then pull the trigger while still pushing the sear up against the trigger. Then, at a certain point, the sear can go up. In the cocked gun the piston/spring would push the sewer up, against the trigger.
    Sorry, somewhat difficult to explain and I'm no native english speaker. 😊

    Thank you for this nicely done video with all the right instructional information and matching music!
    But I was just wondering if the manufacture designed in that bottom seal angle, to accommodate any tolerances lost between the pivot and /or the locking ball bearing? Because if it did lose the slightest tolerance on that side of the barrel where it pivots, it would lift off enough for some air to leak.
    I was just thinking that is a very big machining mistake to be made, since it is a straight in and forward machining process.

    • @rodneydavidson828
      @rodneydavidson828 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And don't you think installing the half circle piece of plastic into that the seal groove will just eventually spin around?
      A complete circle or a bigger diameter O-ring might be more reliable in the wrong run.

    • @canuckair
      @canuckair  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have wondered about the mismatch in depth on the o-ring groove. If it was intentional, it was a bad idea, dooming the seal to leak at the top edge. I didn't mention it in the video, but first tests showed the gun would go 340 fps on one shot, and 150 fps on the next, with a sharp blast of air at the barrel juncture. I'm not worried about my plastic shim rotating. It's thoroughly buried behind a non-spinning o-ring. It's not going anywhere. But at least I was able to prove the gun is capable of good, consistent performance, with a snug breech seal.@@rodneydavidson828

    please no music because it breaks the concentration especially for non English people.
    and please do not speed up the most difficult handlings ,like the trigger mechanism and the end assembly where we did not see how to put in the front 37:13
    I am happy to find your video because there aren't many and because in Europe we only know the name Diane 6. I stumbled on the name Winchester by accident.
    Last question : how did you determine that the air loss was on the front?

    • @canuckair
      @canuckair  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I could feel air blasting out the top. A favourite way to check for a leaky breech seal it to put tissue on top of the join and see if it puffs away when shooting. I didn't have to do that, because it was all too obvious when holding a hand over it.
