I was so happy and fired up when I beat Lollang first try I went into this excited and ready to kick ass and then Lobcorp Angela slapped me in the face with a reality check
Keter realization, probably the hardest part of Library of Ruina. During my first playthrough of the game i really wanted to do a page lock starting at the ensemble fight until the very end, but keter realization was the thing that stopped my page lock. After bashing my head against Wrist Cutter i went all out with my builds. (Note i only vaguely remember my builds First things first, the key pages that i used were, Purple Tear, Yan, Nikolai, and Eileen. Purple Tear, and Eileen all have Puffy Brume and Sooty Thwack, reason being is that smoke is overpowered. Nikolai was there for support with her passive as well as having myongest because she was my worst clasher, i made sure that Nikolai had battle ready so she can activate Her passive at turn 2, either with A Golden Opportunity! clashing with her myongest dice, or a Bulky Impact and Absorb Impact combo. Yan was also for support with his prescripts but also for self strength stacking with both Bi Xi and Augury Kick, with high singleton economy (no will of the prescripts though) and high cost cards. His passives include High level acrobatics and Keeping in Stride Some general passives on my key pages: All but Yan have Health Hauler. All but Nikolai have Four Trigrams. Yan and PT have mind hauler. Eileen has smoke related passives.
definitely the hardest part of the game. There's a requirement that your decks are good so doing a full on page lock seems like turbo pain. I personally like to have my Myongest on my 2nd strongest clasher and relegate the others to support duty. Pretty crazy to me that you ran singleton without WotP though.
Yeah full page lock ensemble and beyond is fairly difficult, but by the time i was on my third playthrough i could distribute out my resources evenly to every floor, with the exception for Keter because it has my best stuff(no Myongest though) Another reason why i gave my Nikolai Myongest is because of A Golden Opportunity!, it's a fun card to use but it doesn't have the best clashing power for non defensive builds, i have a different Nikolai build with my new playthroughs which doesn't involve Myongest while still having a guarantied turn 2 11 charge and good clashing power, plus I like all my units to be on even ground in terms of clashing power, just so nobody feels like a burden where i have to redirect clashes away from them And the reason why i don't use WoTP in my singleton decks is the fact that i find the page draw from it overkill, multislash and WoTC are already amazing economy cards that double up as light restore and page draw but there are better card draw options that can clash better than WoTP like Bi an or Sturdy Defense, as well as the fact that it has mediocre dice rolls for a 3 cost
Wrist cutter was hardest phase for me I spend a few days trying to beat it. When I did beat it i did entire rest of realisation first try which is really saying how much this phase sucks. Also i thought there were no checkpoints which really stressed me out when Angela was at single digit hp at the last phase.
@@AilithNix Got started on this realisation today. Wrist Cutter was surprisingly easy. Tbf i can see how people can hate her so much, the pale hands + mass attack next scene combo is definitely killer if youve got no clue what to do, but your strats always turn the hardest battles into first-time clears, so cheers
I despise this phase of Keter so much. It's not quite as bad as the winter phase, but I really am not a fan of how the start of this phase is just "you must play X card vs Y card or you just lose"
*(THIS COMMENT HAS AN UNGODLY AMOUNT OF TEXT, SURPRISINGLY)* You went really in depth for the fight here, I don't think I have anything to say about it, aside from how cool the Librarians coming in is. At least, before they get hammered by Wrist Cutter lol. I'll instead just talk about Angela's page. She has nearly identical stats to Roland, and she has a bunch of passives to boot too. Though, 2 of them just dictate behavior. Director of her Role's Namesake is a really good passive that I forget about every time. It, alongside her next passive, makes sure she and her allies can snowball as fast as they can every new phase. It's similar to Roland's passive wherein it draws 2 pages for you to immediately get going. The Seed of Light doubles emotion gain, meaning you're more likely to emo up every scene. Though, Wrist Cutter being Wrist Cutter will probably force you to skip a scene or two... Huh? or the more scientific ??? grants you 1 EGO page from each floor. From beating Wrist Cutter, you'll get Malkuth's "Fourth Match Flame", Yesod's "Regret", Hod's "Red Eyes", and Netzach's "Da Capo". These are game changers and are what bring Angela from a good key page to an amazing one, especially for this scenario. Enough about her passives, her pages are really good too! Though, they suffer from one problem, which I'll get into later. Shyness is the best economy in the game, bar none. Zero cost, decently rolling double defensive die with a good defense counter die, and it has the privilege of being the only page to restore 3 light AND draw 1 page. As a cherry on top, Lies can't screw this page over either. Shyness is to Old Boys what Old Boys is to Will of the City. You just keep winning with this page, but unfortunately, Wrist Cutter snuffs this page out really hard because of deflects. Token of Friendship has a really high rolling evade die paired with a decent offensive die that has strong debuff application. It's cheap and heals your allies, really good page for its cost. Its evade die is no Crystal Atelier, but for a one cost it's amazing at what it does. Lean Bloody Wings is the weakest of these pages, but its a really good page to begin with. It's Ranga Workshop but miles better. It might cost an effective 1 extra light, but it has higher values and draws a page, which makes it well worth the extra cost. You're still better off just free hitting with this one, though it isn't a terrible clasher by any means. Display of Affection is a juicer of a page. Imagine Fervid Emotions but it had even stronger clashing power. Clashes well as a 1 die, 2 die, and 3 die, all at once. Not to the same degree as Wheels Industry, but hey, its cheaper and has a counter die. This is Angela's best clasher, bar none. Coffin is... cool, I suppose. It has a strong one which seals a die, great evades to leave hanging for one sided attacks or clashes, but... nothing else aside from that. It's great for mass summations, and it clashes well as a 3 die, but it costs a bit too much to warrant any extra praise from me. Now, the rating for these pages are all amazing, and Angela's passives are extremely powerful... but they only serve as a counterstop for how brutal Keter's realization is. In practice, Angela kind of gets the backseat for clashes usually, mostly because she can't stack power. Her pages should be fantastic, and they are, but in the Keter realization she sort of eats it when she tries to clash with a page that isn't Display of Affection. The problem is that she doesn't have a way to stack power past Pulsation and Fervent Beats (the latter being an extremely foolish idea unless you really know what you're doing), so her pages are so strong for their costs *because* they already have their power boosts built in. She's also, unfortunately, only available for the Keter realization, so you can't bring her into receptions and unleash havoc (and besides, no attributions.) Thankfully, she can use other floors' ego pages, meaning she has some emergency nukes she can throw out whenever she has the resources to. It's also a bit funny how many parallels I made between Angela and Roland. Some of their pages and passives function pretty similarly for what you want them to do. Overall, her key page and pages are strong, but a lack of passive attribution for extra power or other utilities is what truly keeps her from being an amazing key page... If not for her access to powerful EGO pages. This is what sets her apart from other key pages, and is the reason why she's such an amazing key page. Regarding her use in the Keter realization... she's fitted pretty well for the occasion, all things considered.
yeah that's what I found as well, a lot of extremely powerful things but the lack of power boosters make her not actually that strong. Puppet Strings and The Messenger can help partially, but it might end up being more work than it's worth for the power boosting. I found that she's played best by spamming mass attacks due to shyness being a -3 cost page so you'll never run out of light.
Ah, yes, the Keter Realization, probably the part people honestly called unfair, and that's saying something. It's also pretty boring, mainly because there's not any good music that plays while going through it. Personally, I've never beaten it, unfortunately, and skipped most of it using mods, because I was getting fustrated at losing most of the time, though your commentary and analysis makes it sound doable. Also, speaking of mods, just for curiosity, are you going to extend your analysis and guide to the Da'at Floor mod? There's not a lot of set documentation on it, aside from some videos, and maybe the discord server (which can't seemed to be reachable from the mod page), so having some guide on it after you are done with the main game's guide would be cool. What do you think?
It's definitely the hardest part of the game, I spent a few weeks trying to beat it my 1st time around. Regarding mods, I'll probably only make guides for mods that I've personally had a hand in making. I'm not saying it'll never happen, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for it, especially since I play vanilla only.
I don't know if you are stil answering questions, but what happens if I forfeit? do I gotta do the black silence all over again? if I can't forfeit, can I return to main menu to not lose progress?
Mmm yes the Keter realizations... The part of the game that really, really makes you realize "Hey, we've been fighting bosses for a while, no?"
Hey atleast you don't have to fight back to back with act's
Impurity is mono-boss fight except the 1st reception :)
ok
“Depression is not good to have, in game as well” that’s so real
I'm always real B)
I was so happy and fired up when I beat Lollang first try I went into this excited and ready to kick ass and then Lobcorp Angela slapped me in the face with a reality check
Yeah this is the often the hardest part for players in their first run (it was for me at least)
This fight really sets the mood for the keter realization. They did great with this one
yeah I agree, especially under time pressure
And so... *From rubble and ruin the most beautifull performance begins*
indeed
God i hate this whole realization with a burning passion
it's pretty tough

I personally had more trouble with the final phase but this one also really slapped me silly the first time around.
I’m finally here, the part of the game everyone complains is the hardest. you make it seem very simple and easy to beat lmao.
All the fights are simple to beat if you have the proper setup and strategy.

yeah I'm personally fine with it because it's just the pre-fight for me but I can understand people disliking it.

i actually won, wow
thank you man
All you mate
i thought angela had to solo her the whole fight so i spent half an hour constantly retrying
That's tragic
Eileen Blüntsmoken
little German boy😭
“I’m tired, Boss… Dead tired…”
jeez
I don't know if you are stil answering questions, but what happens if I forfeit? do I gotta do the black silence all over again? if I can't forfeit, can I return to main menu to not lose progress?
If you quit to title you'll be set back to the start of the phase, same of you lose
Killed her under like 7 scenes since I had Nikolai and a smoker
yeah smoke + finishing touch is a very deadly combo
Smash?
No
well there is no one of my librarians are dead and only 1 staggered.idk why ppl call this fight hard its easy for me
people struggle with different things I guess
kk
Yep
uh huh
