Having steadfastly refused to play in South Africa whilst in the grip of apartheid, this concert is a celebration of the inauguration of Nelson Mandela in front of a packed Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg during 1994.

Yeah, they're awesome!! 😃 Did Rob Hirst decide to release these videos, is he behind the "The Making of Midnight Oil" channel? 🤔 I guess these are from the "Overflow Tank" release; I've been thinking of buying it, but the prices in Swedish stores still seem a bit crazy, plus it doesn't feel quite environmental to buy a bunch of plastic when I hardly use physical media anymore. Anyway, this -94 South Africa gig is amazing, playing what IMO is their greatest album, Earth and Sun and Moon, and at such a cool venue 🙂 Oils have been my religion since I was in my early teens! Cheers to all out there! 🤗

Je ne vous parle pas de rock pour minettes, je vous parle de rock, de rock dur avec d'incroyables musiciens qui excellent dans leur domaine respectif, qui sont capables de sortir des morceaux monstrueux et ultra mélodiques, tout en faisant passer de vrais messages dans leur musique.
Je vous parle d'un chanteur limité, certes mais totalement capable de se sublimer mélodiquement,et je ne parle pas de son énergie, d'un batteur hallucinant de finesse, brillant de brutalité qui fait les choeurs et de quelle façon, je vous parle d'un bassiste à la voix d'ange et de 2 guitaristes qui se complètent merveilleusement . Et ce n'est même pas la peine de parler de leur sens de la composition.
