+TheTMGermany What are you talking about? He was in the lane with the faster-moving traffic. It's bad etiquette to undertake and there was a motorcycle and at least three other cars ahead of him. He wasn't hogging the lane at all, whoever was at the front of the line ahead of him was.
Yes, but since he couldnt go any faster in the left lane than in the right on, there was no point in being in the left one. Go to the right and maybe some other people will follow you. This philosophy of "since they're doing it, I don't have to follow the law as well" is bullshit imo
***** That's not what I'm saying at all. The reason everyone was in the left lane was because they wanted to get by. The driver in the front was holding everyone up. If he moved over to the right and the the motorcycle did, too, and the few cars in front of him, then they all would have lost their spot in traffic. When somebody is hogging the left lane, the best way to get them out of it is to stay behind them until they get the hint that people want by. He wasn't hogging the lane, he wanted to get ahead and so did the people in front of him. If he went in the right lane, then he would have undertaken everyone, which is bad etiquette and (I think?) in Germany is illegal.
+CptSchmidt he doesn't have to undertake anyone. he can just drive by with the same speed he would have done in the left lane. This way he would have freed up space in the left lane. As soon as the guy who was blocking everybody moved back to the right lane, he could wait till he was at some point where he actually needed to overtake something and then switch lane. As long as he doesn't go faster than the cars left of him, that's the way you should do it.
***** That is not how most people do it. If traffic is heavy and the right lane is going 120 and the left lane is going 130, I'll drive in the left lane. If somebody ahead suddenly causes a backlog in the left lane because he's going 120, people in the left lane will stay left, behind him, until he's moved out of the way. If you move into the right lane and slow down to 120, you'll lose your position to drivers behind you who also want to go 130 or more. Then, when the rude driver going 120 in the left lane gets the hint and moves back to the right, you get boxed in behind the slower 120 traffic because you've given up your position. If everyone moved to the right because of one slow driver in the left lane, then slow-driving lane hogs would never think anybody wants by and they would never think they're doing anything wrong.

4:11 do czego to doszło w Niemcach, że prawym pasem trzeba wyprzedzać
Please drive as right as possible…. You are only on the left or middle lane even when there is no traffic.
Too fast. Zu schnell
you're a terrible lane hogger. Just look for example at the part starting at 4:02
