In regards to his vocals being dodgy during the guttural sewer drain parts, it's really hard to not end up pushing too hard and straining up (which results in them sounding as forced and "normal dude sounding" as they do at times in this clip) in a live setting with all the adrenaline and exhaustion tensing up your throat and vocal chords. This dude's a fucking monster and nothing short of unbelievably good, and the gutturals are honestly the least impressive/unique aspect about his performance in this video. Are you hearing those highs, "melodic" screams, and pitched roars? 5:16 is my reference point to what I ideally want to sound like, and this is coming from a fucking soundboard mix of a live show at a festival. That, my friends, is crazy.

As a drummer of 23 years, Travis Ryan is my absolute favorite vocalist. His range of both pitch and technique is incredible and so unique. His unique chorus throat vocals give me chills. Dave McGraw is great too haha.
Saw them for the first time when i was 16 in Tampa. They hung out and let me chat them up after the show. Travis and Troy signed my humanure shirt and gave me some stickers. I love this band!
A painter has a number of colors he uses and mixes to create the picture he wishes to bring to life....in like manner Travis uses his voice in an almost superhuman way..using different techniques and tones to bring life to these songs. Their music isn't quite my thing but I have huge respect for what this guy can do. He has no equal in extreme metal.
Luke Rogers He sounds like a fucking robot, that's what. The albums are great, but not amazing because of the artificial sound of the drums. The triggers are basically what is holding back the albums from being fantastic. That's how I see it.

I love how music surprises you, first time listening to faith no more hated it first time listening to this samething. After many hearings realizing both are brilliant.
honestly, the level of production on their albums is insane. It sounds full and layered and perfect, but their musical vision is primarily realized in “post-production” ie: Extra vocal/instrument layers, synth backups, you name it, on top of being given a meticulous final mix/master. unfortunately, despite this brilliant final product we fans receive as an album, these details do tend to adversely affect bands when attempting to play their material live without the assistance of stand-ins or backing tracks. They are giving you the most raw possible version of their material, which can sometime sound disjointed or incomplete. Just remember that this is extreme music and it can be “extremely” difficult to play, and even harder for regional sound technicians to dial in the short time they’re given, especially in the high pressure environment of a festival with several acts. The bottom line is: if you go see these guys live, you’re gonna have a good time, no matter what. Be supportive of these cutting edge artists, buy their albums/merch and go to their shows.

Honestly those vocals are not hard to do. I can do those vocals way better than I can growl or mid scream. You just move your mouth around a little while barely putting effort into a high scream and it distorts the sound.
Understand that this is the first time most people hear this band. You don't go all out on new bands.. you check them out.. buy the cd.. become a fan. Don't be so quick to judge. Enough sick bastards in the world doing that already.

Understand that this is the first time most people hear this band. You don't go all out on new bands.. you check them out.. buy the cd.. become a fan. Don't be so quick to judge. Enough sick bastards in the world doing that already.
I really didn't like them at first. Now I watch the forced gender reassignment music video everyday. I've boughten at least 2 full albums, and I have a monolith of inhumanity shirt. These guys are badass I need to see them live.

Never have i been more scared of a bands live performance. The way this was shot, their outfits, instrument colors, everything. This is just one scary fucking performance and i love it.
