glen was canceled. by metal culture. oh so now metal culture is a thing. i fucken hate tik tok. it a thing if our shpere of influence. meanwhile at the gates slaughter of the soul
The perfect guitar tone for death metal -- tight, scooped-mids, cranked bass and treble, and gain cranked to "heavy as hell" levels! It's like being plugged into a Boss Metal Zone pedal on steroids! Also love how they very abruptly and suddenly end songs and keep changing up those tight, killer riffs.
I think they use a metal zone to boost the amps they use and they scooped mids and everything like you said and i love the tone so much. The metal zone gets so hated because people dont know how to use it correctly half the time😭 i have a metal zone and it took me a while to get it sounding really good
Amazing performance. I got into Deicide when I was 16 and now 20 years on I still listen to them every week. Glen I met you once back in Bradford/England. I will always remember how cool a guy you were. Deicide you will always remain at the top. 🍻

The Hoffmans are the shit I fucking miss them in Deicide I really hope they start a new band or something they are phenomenal guitar players and need to be in a band playing, writing and recording........ Eric's ironbird is so killer with a khaler tremolo and Brian's Beast is a Beast B.C. Rich and the Hoffman's go together like Satan and hell
I remember when Legion came out. I was blown away, so fucking wicked. Soon after that release, I saw them live on their Smash of the Mutants tour in Pumpehuset, Copenhagen. I lost my hair that night but have no regrets. Was fucking epic.

Deicide is probably my favorite old school death metal combo, & I think that it's down to Glen Benton's vocals-- he isn't absurdly guttural; he barks & screams, but rarely does he sound like the Cookie Monster belching up beer fumes. There are more colours to his vocals than is typical in the genre. And his voice is in fine form at this gig. Utterly compelling.
an argument about shares broke between Hoffman bros and Glen & Steve. they parted their ways, the Hoffmans reactivated their old project called Amon and have released an album this year.
They just announced they are doing the 30th anniversary tour for Legion, but they will not have the Hoffman brothers who made the album sound as great as it does.
I am so proud to say I saw the TRUE Deicide at Exit/In in Nashville on the Scars tour. Ran into Glen at merch. Eric looked like fucking Sabretooth on stage. So clean, so precise. So Deicide.
No cabe duda que esta es la Banda más potente del planeta. Los ví tocando en el Estadio Obras junto a Ratos De Porão y Cannibal Corpse, en los 90' y siempre mantuvieron esa potencia! AGUANTEEEEE!!!!!
Haha. He looks a bit like Jake, too. Jake Roberts, in the middle. Kevin Nash, to the left. A skinny Stone Cold, to the right.. And Edge, on the drums! :) Yes, I am drunk.
I saw "Legion" played live at Brutal Assault 2023. The brothers were missing, definitely. I mean in the sound and vibe. Such a pity to break up this perfect human machinery.
what was up with Eric's solo on Sacrificial Suicide? I think he tripped his pedal board extension, or the ext from his wireless pack. Nevertheless were some not *untasteless overtones and feedback! LOL
yes i think the same, the sound is very clean, and in metal is very important to appreciate a diffrent shades of the sound. Can you make the play list of this live concert? ♠thankyou!♠

Eric Hoffman, Glen Benton, Brian Hoffman, Steve Asheim

The TRUE, one and only fucking Deicide.

Hoff bros only used solid state amps I believe

BRUTAL ! so much beyond most of the wannabe-heavy bands today .

Too fizzy because of that Metal Zone.

You’re gonna flip out when you here he also writes a large portion of the music and has even solo’ d on later records.
I LOVE THIS BAND......been a fan since their first album \m/\m/.
Killer snare drum sound!
Sounds abit St Anger to me
one of best videos of Deicide that I watched on TH-cam

Dat snare
hoffmans > jack owen and the new guy

There’s no Deicide without Hoffman bros.
Totally agree.
Well actually they do still tour ( a fat ray quote ) you know biff named him that *)

Right...? It's like Krisiun without Kolesne
I do prefer Hoffman Deicide but they are still awesome without them. STEVE.

I caught the scars tour as well. Harpo's, Detroit.
great BC RICH guitars... I wish I have a Ironbird like that one..man, I'd kick some ass.
Deicide did not exist after the Hoffman bro left. Nothing Glen did after their departure came close to touching THIS.

simplemente geniales estas majestades satánicas!!!
great show
golden era, hear that freight train!
How did the Hoffmann brothers get that super-crunchy, scooped-mid guitar sound?
metalzones?
Must be a family secret xD
Along with Mesas and Marshall's. I got their exact sound and it's as pretty as it gets. Just Razor Sharp
I use a Metal Zone and sometimes a Fullbore Metal to replicate their sound. Really really close.
You can also have this sound with the ÜberMetal from Line6.
The real Deicide, more powerful 🤘
they wrote and released an album called "Liar in Wait" under the name Amon
Gracias a Dios por éste concierto tan hermoso.
