- Producer Roy Lee provided news that three new entries of The Strangers series will start filming next month. The Strangers: Prey at Night came out in 2018, nearly ten years after The Strangers released in 2008. Bailee Madison starred in the sequel, which had very little to do with the original. Baghead, Dollface, and Pin Up Girl could be returning very soon. Lee also revealed the filmmaker behind these three movies is someone many will know. Renny Harlin's Strangers trilogy will release in theaters next year. The official titles have been revealed along with first images. Renny Harlin reveals interesting new details about cinematic universe hopes. The Strangers 3 is releasing May 17th, 2024. The trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 1 is here. Agreed, it was just watchable. The parts that really killed me are 1. Taking the airbnb owner's motorcycle like its normal and 2. Stopping his asthma attack with a twisted water bottle.
Lol I just enjoyed the ride after a certain point.
@@criticaloverlord4809 Me too. Looking at the movie from a lense of it being camp made it far more enjoyable as well. Once events such as the above started to happen I pivoted to that lense. It made the experience far more fun.
The trailer literally looked like a beat-for-beat remake of the original
i fear this one will flop so bad, all 3 parts will end up on Netflix by Halloween. (Lionsgate and Netflix are besties)

This movie is alright, it's basically like the original but in a different way. It's basically a reboot/remake. Can't wait for the 2nd chapter coming soon this year.

It wasn't bad. But it wasn't good either. The writing left a lot to be desired, and at one point, i was rooting for the strangers.

I enjoyed this movie, but agree there are many flaws but I am hopeful that the next two will step it up.
If you’ve seen the first 2, you’ve seen this one. I won’t be seeing 2 or 3.
Honestly the things you mencioned also happened in the original when Kristen saw something and the husband was believing she was crazy. In The first one there are also lots of stupid decisions but I loved it for it.
When you are in a situation like that not everyone is gonna be Sidney Prescott what I liked about the first one is that it showed us how some sometimes when we are so afraid when dont always make the most rational and logical choices.
I was very excited for this film and was slughtly disappointed. They tried to remake a lot of the 2008 scenes but they unfortunately did not do it well and they were super unrealistic. Like when maya is playing piano and scarecrow is just sitting in the chair behind her... like the 2008 version is so much better.

I don’t know why it’s getting so much hate from the critics (22% on rotten tomatoes) bc I thought it was great. Personality I wasn’t a fan of the first one bc I’m more of a fan of thrillers and action in horror. So it wasn’t a bad film it was like a mix between prey at night and the original. I’d give it a 6/10
I really hoped the stupidity would be turned down. The original drove me crazy. And they did the same thing?! Ugh
I enjoyed this, it could absolutely have been better. I will say I got chills during the first piano scene.

The Strangers 2008 film was the first horror movie I ever watched and that’s what’s got me into the horror genre in general I have to say I will give this a shot I loved the first to Strangers films 1st is because it’s horrifying and the 2nd was great 80s slasher vibes and soundtrack but I’ll still give it a shot.
Prey at night remains my favorite it's just more my vibe, but this one is also good. I'd say I probably do like this one more than old
It seems like a good intro to what’s to come. If what I’m predicting is correct, 2 will be a bloodbath and 3 will be a twist

I am so tired of walking out of horror movies disappointed….. hopefully the second one is like a Halloween kills vibe because this one had no tension no suspense.

This was so bad. Madeline and Froy were BOTH terrible in different ways. Madeline was an overacting mess while Froy was wooden and just looked slightly shocked at every scene like this :0 insulting to the original

To be fair, I didn't like the original film. The sequel prey at night i actually enjoyed. I kinda knew i was walking into a rehash of the original film taking beats from the 2 other films, so it's not great, but i still have hope for the other chapters!!! ✌️😶

Not interested. Not even on streaming. Even if it’s an unpopular opinion, I will say it, but the first Strangers wasn't a good movie. Come at me, but it wasn't scary. It was annoying. Most of the “scares” came from the Strangers trolling the main characters when they're unaware they're behind them and then disappear. Like what was the purpose of that? Was it just for the audience because the characters weren't aware you were right behind them while crawling away in the woods? Why even stalk them only to disappear? Who are you doing it for if the main character is unaware that you're behind them? It's so stupid! Sorry, but that's just my opinion.
