Unusual Swiss transport CHÂTELARD - EMOSSON construction, mono-rack railways 1978

Visited in 1978, 693m above the Martigny-Châtelard line, the funicular ascends via precariously located request stop village Giétroz, to Les Montuires for interchange to a youth operated, former dam construction train, adapted as a panoramic mountain mini railway. To reach the dam, sit astride the unique mono-rack-railway, replaced in 1991 by to 8-person mini-funiculars now owned by Parc d'Attractions du Châtelard but thought to reamain closed post-pandemic.
