I’d suggest going to the IKEA second hand section/returned goods section - find a couch you like (might take a few trips until you find the right one as inventory is constantly changed) & if the couch has any minor scratches or is a little dirty then you can ask the manager of that section for an additional discount. That’s how I got two IKEA couches for half price! The cleaning won’t cost more than 30-50 GBP and your couch will be as good as new.

Ouu such a good tip! Didn't know they did additional discounts haha

I’ve seen pictures of fireplaces where they put a few very large, battery powered candles on different levels inside. They look so warm and lovely when lit in the evening.

Ouu that's a cute idea! Def gonna try that

I just moved to London and have started flat hunting and it’s crazy expensive! You got so lucky with this beautiful space. All the 1 beds I’m looking at in zone 1 and 2 in north London are around 1500 starting!

Your walls will be mostly made of plaster & nails will not work you will need a drill to hang anything. 3M Command sticky strips work great.

Dishwashers will only be found in new luxury buildings. The are still a relatively new thing. It is only in the last 20 +/- yrs that houses have dishwashers. I lived in London from '97-2000, in Hammersmith. London is a fab city.

The London renting market is soo annoying, your place is gorgeous and pretty big and close to central. I am moving to N1 soon in literally a box and look what £275 extra a month can get you!

Yaa but you're basically in zone 1! It's wild the difference in price

This looks gorgeous now it's empty. It'll look great when you've done your magic.
London prices always seem insane to me though as I'm from the north of England where something like this would be less than half that price. 😂

    • @MonicaXGuan

That was 100% a mini fridge. I have a bigger mini fridge than that. Only major downside seems to be the fridge.

Houses were never made with built in closets. His & her wardrobes were always part of a bedroom set when bought

Also, if you're near Queen's Park, the Queen's Park Farmer's Market has a Dosa stand that is amazing. Also, you might run into Pippa Miiddleton

Really curious as to why you moved from Canary? I’m looking at moving there and it seemed like a really good mix of safety, modern flats and close to central. Thanks for the tour!

I talked about it in detail at the beginning of this vlog: th-cam.com/video/yOWkQ0Do_eQ/w-d-xo.html
but it's mainly because of the area!

The fireplace is probably real but has been sealed as there’s a lot of restrictions around them due to air pollution etc

Hello Monica, I live in the United States, not in London so I would like to get an idea about pricing. If you were to buy that apartment how much would is be the asking price?
