My advice on how to rent a flat here in London England 🏴 is don't spend much on things you don't need! Always keep an eye out on affordable things rather than expensive stuff! Also, save money inside a bank account & take out a little bit of money!
@@MonicaXGuan omg yesss can we get some tips on how you managed to find a company that sponsored your visa? where you searched, interview stages, what questions they ask you, and how many years of experience did you have professionally?
So useful, ❤ thank you 😊😊. Is it common that they keep your deposit when you leave, using any excuse regarding maintenance or similar? It happens in Spain despite the pictures having been taken!
Def does happen sometimes, I've personally never had an issue. But there all deposits are required to be under a protection plan so if there are issues you can dispute it. They are quite fair with disputes.
Hi Monica, what is happening if after 3 months of rent some of the appliances stopped working? Are you contacting agent or landlord and who is obliged to fix it? Thanks
It varies! I would start with reaching out to your agent and they will let you know who is responsible. Because some landlords here pay their agencies a management fee to take care of all requests for them so I’ve have had both.
Hi Monica, thank you for the info. How did you solve the visa gap issue? I have the similar issue... I got my YMS visa but it won't be activated until a few weeks later... do I still have the right to rent now?
Heyy so my agency made we wait to sign the tenancy until it got approved. I think you might have to wait as well to officially sign the tenancy, but check with the agency! I think it might be more lax if you're going direct to an landlord.
@@MonicaXGuan Thank you Monica. I'm lucky that I got a job offer before going to the UK but now have more problems like I don't have BRP or NI or right to rent...
4:50 Does it mean that if I move to the UK with skilled worker visa, I will have to pay 6 months upfront? Or having a new job will be considered as a job and I will have to pay only 5 weeks upfront? Thanks for video, it's really useful!
I have now moved to my new strategy when it comes to living in London cheaply. And that is to find a girl who owns a place in London and make her fall in love with me 😂 Tired of renting 🥵

This will definitely be helpful to non Londoners out there!
Super helpful video! I just moved from NYC to London and have realized both these cities need the same rigor finding an apartment.
Would love to see a follow-up on agencies or brokers you'd recommend working with, either in a video or via your substack! :)
great idea! Will do on substack next week 🤗

Usually a new job is fine! They might require you to provide your work contract
Have you ever thought about buying?
so I actually already have a mortgage in Canada 😅
It's expensive buying a flat here in London England 🏴 so renting is better
